Hope that’s true because I’m ready for new irons and PXG is always at the top of my “test” list.

I'm pretty confident in the timeline. I'm actually debating ordering a set of Gen5 this week before Bob's promo disappears for a couple weeks....lol.

I'm sure by February that Gen6 news will be public and that means another sale.....

I wish I could have gotten a little more detail beyond timeline, but that's all he had.

I can't see much of an improvement as everything is pretty much max'ed out, it will be all cosmetics as I do bet'cha they still keep the screws in them. If you got the Gen 5's I wouldn't even think about upgrading as those are as nice as they are going to get.

I just hope the Gen6 irons will be fashioned similar to the previous generations with silver backs and black screws and weights and logo. The Gen5 design is not a deal breaker but I prefer the all chrome look.

I've heard that they are coming in March. I don't have any other details, but I'm pretty confident in the timeline based on the source.

There’s not much performance difference, there’s not much performance difference, there’s not much performance difference,  lalalalala. I can’t hear you.

I've had every Gen and I thought 3 was the best looking until I saw 5.

I like the "industrial" look to them.

I will not own Gen 6... I swear.

Why would anyone buy these if they just flip every year?

Fell for it and got a set of gen 5 irons….good, but nothing special

guess I have to rush to blow them out now fast to get as much value as I can?…..

Confused by the strategy

No confusion at all about PXG's strategy of selling golf clubs...That's what they're in the business of doing and they've already got your money...They don't nor should they care what flippers think they deserve on the resale market...Gen4 is currently being closed out, so you Gen5 flippers best get movin' because Gen6 is on deck...

How about keep them and keep playing them if the newer, replacement Gen isn’t any better….?

just a thought…..

Pretty simple - only buy the newest gen if you plan on keeping them or flipping them very soon.  Keeping them for 6-12 months and buying the newest gen again at full price is extremely expensive.  Their strategy is to extract the most money possible from the people who have to have the latest & greatest every year and it works.

Alternatively, only buy after the price drops.  Then your basis is so much lower that you aren't going to get hurt much when you do sell them.  I bought Gen3 right after Gen4 came out and I considered Gen4 right after Gen5 came out but didn't see any real improvement from Gen3 to Gen4.  Gen5 was a little bigger jump IMHO but I hate the two-tone so I'm waiting to see what Gen6 looks like.

Well the person who is restarting my irons said I can pick them up tomorrow.  Too bad we are in the middle of a massive storm with 40-50mph.  I think I should be good to go.  A little wind and rain never stopped a true WRX’er.  😂

Gen5 were ugly, hopefully the Gen6 go back to more of a prior Gen look. Reps have had a hard time moving them when 4’s are available because the 4’s look better and there isn’t a massive difference in performance.

I was at CC and one of the employees said the exact same thing.  It would be surprising if PXG abandons that look after only one year.

Kind of like why would anyone buy Stealth 2 driver now when "Stealth 1" came out just last year.   Getting to the point where buying golf clubs is like buying a laptop.  They're outdated the day after you buy them.

Actually it's the day before in "tech-land"

It was posted and taken down a few minutes ago. Top half silver, bottom half black with tungsten built in... Although no bar as mentioned by another poster so who really knows if it was legit...

I do like the fact that the Gen 5 irons visually (kinda) fit with the 0317, with the weight screw and whatnot. I’d definitely want those in 3/4 iron.

Then comes the question of where to split 0317 cavities and blades. Maybe overlap a bit to allow for different courses/weather/ability/vanity?

They really need to do some new wedges for next year too. Just to confuse me further.

I have visions of me ending up with about 15 irons and being late to the course because I’m trying to pick a set.

When I bought my 4s I tested both and 4s actually slightly outperformed 5s for me. I imagine it's swing specific but I wasn't crazy about the black toe/heel either.

Does True Spec still fit PXG?

I don’t see them listed as a fitting location for PXG nor do I see PXG listed as a fitting partner on True Spec’s website.

No.  I got fit at True Spec last week and PXGs were not an option.  I asked when I didn’t see them and it was confirmed that they no longer carry them.

The black heels on my Gen 5's is starting to wear off a little.  Nothing major but with around 100 rounds a year its bound to happen.   I'm looking forward to seeing and testing Gen 6 whenever they do release.  I also am looking forward to testing against the new Srixons coming out because they look beautiful and it was a pillow fight when I tested Srixon against Gen 5.  Was getting just little better numbers out of PXG (not much) and I love the company and what they do all around specifically with their irons.  I have to believe based on what they produced in Gen 5/Xcore, this go around, they'll really be dialed in on sound and feel.  I just absolutely love the feel of my 5's.  I wish I saw the pics of the 6 if they were legit.  Although excited to see a one color blade come out with the 6, I did question and agree with post above, find it hard to believe that they'd release a duel color iron last year and then go back to a single color but who knows.  I had some golf buddies give me sh*t on the two tone look when i put them in the bag last year but I also enjoyed taking all their money at the end of our rounds time and time again.
