Inside scoop… the “T” irons are gone in the Gen6. The 0317 will be offered in 3 heads. Cavity back, muscle back and Super Tour. The 0311 will just be the P and XP.

oh… and there a 3-piece golf ball coming. $49.99/dozen.

Great job on Intel! Unfortunately we need more, what's the "howitzer" BP mentioned? Perhaps, a deep face driver Gen5 was missing....

Going to play it rotating with the Kirkland ball as I beat my buddies...

This is the old golf ball never released. Will what is old be new again?

I know, I'm bummed having had the Gen 3, Gen 4 and Gen 5 "T" irons. They were each incrementally better than the previous iteration. This will most likely be the first year in a while where I'm not bagging PXG irons.

I'm very happy with my Gen 5 0311P irons and SD II wedges so those will stay in the bag. I'm very interested in the new driver, my Gen 5 0311 9* driver is an absolute dog compared to the TSR3. I'm also intrigued by a 3-piece PXG ball.

Is being a dog compared to something good or bad?

In this context it's bad...i.e. down on horsepower.

While I’m a huge fan of PXG irons, they still haven’t figured out drivers. I tried to make GEN5 work for me, but had to turn the loft down so low to get spin rates down that it just wasn’t performing. Stealth took me one range session to get it dialed into my best driver I’ve owned to date. I’ll compare GEN6 vs Stealth 2 Plus, but I suspect I already know the results.

Couldn’t agree more. They have the iron’s figured out but not the woods yet imo.

Agreed!  Their Drivers and Fwys have always been very lack luster for me as well.  Love their irons, wedges and hybrids though!

Odd to see the T line disappearing.  I purchased the 0311T Gen3 in 4-7 and the 0311ST Gen4 in 8-G when clearance price was $100usd a stick.  Part of me regrets not getting all T.  If the Gen5 0311T drops in price to similar I will grab a set seeing they performed really well in testing and popularity.

I'll take the bait on this.  FWIW I'm not a hater.  I played the Gen3 P's and really liked them, they just didn't spin enough for me.  The CB's are really interesting. But I can't wrap my head around why the world needs another golf ball.

At the $49.99 level the ProV1 and ProV1x are pretty tough to beat.  If you believe the lab tests on other sites they are tough to beat for consistency and quality control.  And if you want to be different there are other good options from Bridgestone and TaylorMade.  Then there are less expensive options from the same brands, as well as really solid options from Kirkand and D2C.

I guess when you look at all the brands on the market, and LA Golf entering the market there must be money to be made so WTF go for it.  My point is, I don't think the ball will be anything other than another $49.99 ball that's not a PRO V1.

There must be something to the golf ball that is particularly controversial because other than the PXG clothing line, I don't get fired up about any of their other equipment, but the ball does it!?

Sorry if I wasn't clear on this. The prices will go up on the 2023 balls. The 2021 will stay at $49.99.

You were clear, I got it the first time.  I guess I'm not surprised everything is getting more expensive.  It won't make a difference to me but 10% in a year seems like a lot especially when there are plenty of other options that are as good or so damn close it doesn't really matter to anyone's score.

I’m sure Titleist will still sell plenty of balls, but good grief $55 a dozen is absurd. With tax you’re looking at $5 a ball. No reason for amateurs to be paying that much for balls that have roughly the same performance for them as balls that cost almost half that.

This really surprises me. I just recently got my Gen5 the right shaft and in the first day of testing numbers were identical and slightly edged out my Cobra from last season I had all year to perfect. It was a 9* LTDx LS with Ventus TR 5x...(I say all that because it was a seriously premium build). Build is now a Gen5 7.5* with Diamana PD 60TX tipped .5".

Now that being said I took the time to truly work on the face, and weights to make sure the driver was absolutley dialed. But I hit 5 balls with the final setup all 112-113 SS, 13.1-13.7 launch, nothing above 2450 spin or below 2100, ball speed 167.5 and 297 carry....
