They are miles behind ProV1 in Driver spin though. A lot of people are going to give up distance with these golf balls or over accentuate swing flaws w/ the PXG ball. They’ve got to figure out long game spin.

Just talked with my rep and he did confirm the deep face driver. He said there would be 2 models, 1 - deep face and the other the normal shape/size. Said as others have here that it would be a mid to late March release.

Completely agree after almost a year with the Gen 5 full bag. The driver and 3w are easy to hit, consistent, and straight. But testing against the new Cally Paradym, the PXG is slow and spinny. I think they are making great stuff, but if they want to win at this game, the long end of the bag has to get a little faster.

With Pro V1’s at $54.99 and the PXG at $39.99, I’m going to give them a full chance.  
 

As to the driver and fairway woods, for me they are as good as Stealth.  The driver just took longer to really dial it in compared to the Gen 4 and Stealth+

Anyone notice that there is no free shipping anymore? Shipping price was steep when I was on the website the other day. Late last year is was free shipping which is what other oems had offered anyway.

With PXG everything is fluid. Gen5 driver was $300 until January 3rd then went back to $600 for a couple weeks then went back to $300

I’ve always been a big believer that if you can be patient and time it right, PXG is one of the best values for high performance equipment out there.

Wow. I am still trying to get my Gen 5 optimal.  By the time I get it sorted then Gen 6 will be out. Pity the Gen 5 feels and looks nice but for me spins more than the Gen 4.  Gve me a combo of the low spin Gen 4 head and the looks of the gen 5 head and forgiveness and we will have a winner.

do you have the weights up front? I have 2.5 in the rear.

I’m still tinkering with the weights and hosel positions in my Gen 5 too. 
 

It makes such a difference that I don’t know if I’ll ever be happy that I’ve found the optimum position. 
 

Think I’ll buy something with less adjustability next time. I’m giving myself brain damage.

Well in theory a taller deeper face driver should be less forgiving than the standard shape head.

I loved my old 2.5 inch deep face Cleveland Classic driver from about 10 years ago. This new Gen 6 driver will have a face that deep from what the pictures look like. It should be awesome! I bet it will be pretty forgiving. Wonder if it will be able to kick my Rogue Max ST out of the bag? Time will tell.

I have tried the two 7.5 up front with 2.5 rear- ball flight was high and to much spin 

Tried 7.5 heel. 7.5 real and 2.5 in other side, ball flight was a touch better but a little more lower and i trended to push the ball left (block)

Currently trying 10 heel, 5 in rear and 2.5 other side. 

I think the head with different lie angle and weighting is performing different than the Gen 4 head. I think they made the Gen 5 more forgiving and higher launch than the Gen 4. I am chasing the flight I got with the Gen 4 with a bit more forgiveness. Might try a different shaft with more tip stiffness.
