I was just thinking to myself how much better the RBC Heritage was than The Masters.  🤨

Certainly, was to me. this year's Masters Tournament was quite disturbing to me for the simple fact that a foreign entity came a whisker close to buying the Masters. Thank you Jon Rahm.

20% of the field was from a rouge league.🙂

You think you know what gets me glued to the TV, but let me clarify.

Bring in Steve Stricker, Scott Hoch, Jay Don Blake and David Duval and I will watch it.

It was all TIC. I know you're not a fan of Scheffler the Shuffler. spacer.png

actually am.  Just not pro level.  Each game has changed so far in a negative way that I just can’t.   I Quit baseball in 94 after the strike.  Was a huge cubs fan.  Never watched NFL - very much prefer college football.  And last NBA game I followed was the Jordan era.  They stopped playing defense after that , and the game turned into a joke.

Love ya blade but this makes me think we should have a dedicated thread on here for the over 40 members… Tell us when you stopped watching which professional sport and why… 🤣

😂. Doesn’t make me wrong though.  Change for the sake of change isn’t progress. And progress in name only is hollow.

humans do this. They just look for things to change. My wife currently “ can we move this heavy piece of wood furniture down the hall and exchange it for this other heavy piece of oak that looks almost identical ( both glass front cabinets ).  Sure honey.  Whatever will make you happy for the day.  🙄.   Luckily I now have a giant 14 year old to help me. When he asks me quietly “ why are we doing this “. I just whisper “ shut up boy …. Remember crap rolls downhill.  And you’re at the bottom.  Just do what your mom wants and everybody’s life will be easier for a Minute “.    Said mostly in jest.  She is afforded the luxury of not dealing with the unintended consequences of her progressive furniture ideas. Because me , the problem solver facilitates the move without her dealing with the inevitable issues , or wear and tear on the back.

but on the for real.  If humans hadn’t analyzed baseball down to the pitch,  trying to squeeze every ounce of cheat code out of it , then the new pitch  clock would never ever have been needed. Then there is alll the sports psychology teaching pitchers to “ stay in your process. Visualize and attack “.   With that you get a guy with a 67 second pre pitch routine    ….

And we’d never have had 22 pitchers A game either.  It’s always unintended consequences that people who push progress don’t consider. Or somehow believe won’t be issues.  Just like Frank Thomas making the quote that no self respecting pro will ever play one of those huge drivers.  Which is exactly why they never regulated them then.  Here we are slippery slope and all.  sometimes great is just great.  And should be left alone.  Baseball was great pre 1990.  I watched (literally) years of it.  Then one day it died.

Ok, fiiine, you got me! 😩 What changes in MLB were just for the sake of change??? Every change was for a specific reason, hoping for a different/better result.

First off. Everyone knows to not take my rants seriously.  I was just giving it back to you.  😂.

I suppose you have me in a way. But we can argue it till we’re blue in the face.  There’s always some hairbrained idea that leads to change.  So that will be given as a reason.  But it’s very rarely thought out to all ends before enacted.

in short. I’m in favor of governing by debate and investigation of ideas and not by reaction to change implemented without thought or process. .  That’s how I see baseball and golf for that matter.

that being said I don’t know if the pitcher issue was foreseeable. Nobody wouid have guessed that analytics would have caused teams to use 1 pitcher per batter for 2 innings straight , or that mental coaches Would cause the slow pokes we see.  So who knows

Was fortunate enough to witness a Ryan no hitter in person in 1990 when he was a spry 43yo.  🙏🏼

as in a rare game where he didn’t hit anyone?

or a less-rare game where he gave up no hits?
