2024 mizuno MP iron range

For the 243 range—Does anyone else think the 8i head looks overly big and long compared to the other irons in the set?

Any word on Mizuno's turn time from the factory lately? I'm right at two weeks since I ordered and haven't heard anything yet. Can't wait to get these in.

You won’t hear anything. they’ll just arrive. You should be real close if it’s a U.S. order. Delivery within three weeks is pretty routine.

For those that went with the 243's, any of you go with the 245 in the long irons? I'm pretty much convinced I want the 243's, but was thinking of going 245 in the 5 and 6 iron with 1* weaker lofts in those.

We tried this in my fitting, but we had a hard time getting the gapping right. The 245's were just a little too hot for me even weakened some. 

 

Also thanks for all the intel on shipping. Can't wait.

5i was my longest club in the 243s (bent 2 weak) then I tried the 245 4i but it wasn't as consistent for me as a TSR hybrid was for bridging the gap between my 5w and 5i.

How many players are playing the 245's at standard lofts? At 1-2 degrees weak? What are we seeing numbers wise indoora and on course?

I ordered my 9 iron is 1° weak and PW 2° weak. But haven’t arrived yet….will follow up after first range session.

I’ve been running 245s 4-GW for the last month and just finalized my decision to bend the set 2 degrees weak. That leaves them about half a club strong vs blades, but they launch beautifully. Compared them to the 243, T150/200, and some GI irons, and with my 85ish mph 7iron and decent ball striking these gave me the best flight and great feel. Absolutely terrific clubs.

I ordered 245 7i - PW. 

 

Bent 9i and PW 2* weak, 7i and 8i 1* weak. 

 

Was thinking about bending the PW 3* (I mean, a stock 43* PW is kind of absurd), but anything I've ever bent more than 2* starts affected the bounce a bit too much.

I’m thinking not bending, but blending with traditional lofts in scoring clubs, and just having 2 6 irons or 2 7 irons or wherever I decide I need the help.

Might I make a suggestion? Mizzy is Mizzy. The want to go through distributors. You probably ordered through one. Mizzy does not keep consumers up to date on status. And they aren't even that great about keeping distributors up to date. But the distributors all have a website they can go to in order to determine status - if they check. 

 

Whomever you ordered this through? Ask them to check.

 

Just sayin' (from long experience as a Mizzy iron fanboy).

I kept everything stock. I haven’t played with them yet on the course but had them out to the range. I’ll potentially weaken them depending on gaping but I’ll probably wait to see performance a few rounds before I bend, if needed. I usually play more traditional lofts but I kinda figure Mizuno knows what they’re doing but I could be completely wrong. 
 

All my range sessions so far have been into strong winds (30mph gusts on Saturday). I have no freaking clue how far I hit them.

I’m about to order a set. Debating bending 1 weak. I don’t want to add bounce, but considering they are low bounce probably isn’t a big deal. 
 

I like how you can get exotic shafts with no up charge like Modus 115 for example.

I was a 2/20 order with PGASS for a set of 245's.

 

I just called and they told me they see an estimated shipping date of 3/26...pretty disappointing if that's actually going to be the case considering everyone here is receiving theirs within 2-3 weeks.

Ordered placed on 2/19 LH 245's 6-gap - Called the golf shop 3 days ago and got the purchase order number. Called Mizuno and provided the PO number. They pulled up the order and told me the LH 6 iron head was back ordered - head is scheduled to arrive today - Was told 2 days to build and 2-3 days to ship - Expected delivery to Upstate NY by Monday, 3/18.

I went 1° weak across the board. No numbers, but the eye test tells me they're just a hair higher apex, and maybe 3-4 yards longer than my 223's.

Interesting - maybe I should request the PO number from PGA-SS and call Mizuno myself.

Picked up my 245 4i w/ mmt 125s shaft & no1 blk pro 50 grips from my builder today. Completes the set 4-Gap. Laid it next to the new fli hi 3. Heading to San Diego for the weekend to put these in play.

Absolutely - it will be the Mizuno PO, not the order number from PGA-SS - Customer service was very good to help out.

Stock HLS f5 x stiff. So far so good but may go up in weight with a gost or Ventus blk hb.
