Preferred feel and balance.  With the heavy head and grip, the putter would feel different using a strokelab shaft.

I have been playing an odyssey “Tank” putter for close to ten years now, I’m a believer in the long putter/counter balance technique.  I’m hoping Odyssey releases this jail bird so I can add another one to my arsenal..

My current tank putter has adjustable weights in the head and in the grip for full on adjustability.   Not sure exactly about Fowlers or Clark’s model though.

It’s hard to deny that this is one of the most hyped putters right now. Whether that’s a good or bad thing I don’t know. My only experience with them is the Jailbird mini s I did testing on during Covid and it was a damn good putter

I had a versa jailbird a few years ago. Kind of regret selling it but it wasn’t some magic wand. At the time you could barely give them away. 
I recall it feeling extremely light but I’m sure ymmv. This was a plumbers neck with a white hot insert.

The Jailbird headshape is really under-rated. Odyssey should have kept it in their line as a standard offering with different neck options. It's similar to #7 of course but it has more flow and softer lines. And the crossbar in the back provides lots of extra alignment cues. You really don't even need lots of alignment lines on the head. This one looked great, nice and simple and easy to look at - They should have released something like this in the Tri-Hot 5K line.

The “Tank” shaft was a heavier ski pole non-stepped shaft that came standard with the heavier Tank series of retail putters from a few years ago (circa2013/14/-15 -ish?)

It's the Odyssey O-Works Jailbird (not mini) painted versa, 39"ish tank shaft, and a 17" Superstroke grip, and a ton of lead tape. 

So if you wanted to duplicate it, it seems like the shaft is the harder thing to get awhile the 17" is on back order?

 

I would love to make one to see what it is like, but then sell it on ebay with all the hype. 😛

Can you put these 17” grips on any putter and will that extend it? Or do you need a longer shaft for that?
