I have a odyssey o works red jailbird mini mint i play with a few times a year. The o works face is very very underrated as someone else on page one said. Feel, true roll, sound... its amazing. I sunk about a 60 foot birdie with it last year lol i like this versa version but the longer grip i dont like. Just glad a i bought this red oworks jailbird a few yrs ago. Very stable true rolling solid putter. Wasnt suprised at all the way it preformed the last few weeks specially in good pro putters hands.

Your sources sure have come a long way since the other day when you commented in the other Jailbird thread that you called Odyssey customer service and that they were "non committal" on even producing the Jailbird again. Lol

i was told by a gentleman at Callaway they will be making 500 and anyone who is able to order Wednesday most likely wont receive the putters until mid/late September.

I saw they are getting tons of requests from tour players. So maybe they intend to produce a batch and sell off the excess to the public. Might as well. 
 

Also I don’t get whats so special about the jailbird head. They could make the same counterbalanced long putter with a #7 head and it would putt more or less the same.

It's a counter-balanced mallet with a visual that legitimately helps with aiming.  Most people, with a bit of practice, would putt a hell of a lot more consistent with this than any Scotty 009 that people have gone ape **** over for more than a decade.

The VERSA thing does work, but some folks need the inverted white-black-white finish, I wonder what the ratio is? one scheme usually works better for than the other.

 

Hopefully Callaway don't go nuts with the price, but if they throw in some limited swag it might get pricy.

 

These ain't exactly exactly expensive to knock out, but I'm sure folks will prefer new over eBay.

Correct, shipping early/mid September -> I don't know about the number...I would take that with a grain of salt

The Cally rep told our shop yesterday that they would try to fulfill as many orders that come in and that there was no certain number per se.  Not sure I believe that but like you said, I would take all that with a grain of salt.

Love the "L" and has been my gamer for the past couple years, but would argue very different putters despite a similar shape. The L is milled face and lots of toe hang with the slant neck. Also a lighter headweight and standard lengths. But would agree it is worth checking out if you putt better with some toe hang.

I was told it is open to way more than 500. Ship dates down the road allows for more production to meet demand. Those that paid a premium for one already will be paying high rent for a few months until the large mass of them arrive.

Yeah, that is basically what our local rep told our club yesterday (who knows if it’s accurate).  Very good on Cally/Odyssey if in fact that is the case.

Hopefully they will down the road.  They have the molds, so they could easily add this model into their current “OG” line.

Anyone have experience with the paint durability on the current Versa line? The originals looked very bad after being used for a bit, but could also have been from people not taking care of them.

Yes. Felt odd to me, but was just messing around with it at the store so who knows. I doubt half an inch would make a difference given that you still grip it down around the normal 34-35" mark. Regarding Rickie... wrist to floor is more important to measure than height.

He grips down though. So the counterweight is above his hands. Probably plays like a 35 or 36 on theory
