Seconding this question... though given there's no info on these, I'm not sure anyone knows. I'd assume the stealth finish does and raw doesn't... but that's me guessing. Haven't been able to dig up any info, though hope to pick these up soon.

I just bought 2 raw...obviously no hydropearl.

PGA SS list both the raw and black as tour issue...no other info anywhere.

Question for people who are more familiar with the Ping iron lineup:

Which Ping irons are most like the P790s, Srixon ZX5s, or Titleist T150/T200s in their lineup?

i525 perhaps?

Driver: TaylorMade Qi10 9* - Ventus Black 6S

Woods: TaylorMade Qi10 Tour 3 & 5 Wood - Ventus Black 7S

Hybrid: TaylorMade Qi10 Tour - Ventus Blue 85HYB Stiff

Are you talking similar blade/head size or performance wise (like players distance vs more of a traditional iron).

I tend to measure 7i's often and the way I measure is from the bend in the hosel to the end of the toe, then I measure the sole width (middle of the head) and the height of the toe.

P790 is:

Blade length: 2 7/8"

Sole width: 7/8"

Toe height: 2"

ZX5's (old version)

Blade: 3 1/8"

Sole: 1"

Toe: 2 1/4

I think the Mkii model is slightly smaller

T150 I don't have measurements on:

T100:

Blade: 2 7/8"

Sole: 5/8"

Toe: 2"

T200

Blade: 2 7/8"

Sole: 1"

Toe: 2"

Here are some Ping irons I have saved:

i525

Blade: 2 7/8"

Sole: 7/8"

Toe: 2 1/8"

i210:

Face: 2 7/8"

Sole: 7/8"

Toe: 2 1/8"

I don't have the i230, but to my eye, it appeared a hair smaller than the i200.

i59

Face: 2 7/8"

Sole: 3/4"

Toe: 2"

Having gamed both i200's and ZX5's and went through a fitted with i230's, I found all of them to be high launching, higher spinning more accuracy based irons.  When I think of a P790 I think sheer distance.  I am not too well versed with Titleist irons so I can't really comment there but I would think T200 would be the most comparable model to a P790 or ZX5.

This is a tough one. I see all of those irons as some level of forgiving but for different reasons and somewhat different clubs. The P790s and T200 are arguably players distance irons designed with a hot face. The T150 is to an extent similar tech as a T100 but larger. The ZX5 is kind of a combo of both situations (hotter face than ZX7 and larger footprint) but doesn’t yolo for distance like the P790 which I think is very long.

You arguably would want to look at an i525 which is in the same ballpark

as some of them, and an i230 which is kind of a forgiving players iron (not forgiving in terms of offering the longest possible distance off as many parts of the face as possible, but forgiving in terms of producing very consistent results for good and less than good strikes

I would definitely try the i230s. They are way more forgiving that you'd think!

Would second that. It might be a little shorter in distance than a P790 or T200, but it is very forgiving, feels good and is CRAZY consistent on any (reasonable) mis-strike

Think you guys for the suggestions!

I wouldn't be trying to exactly match the p790s, or a ZX5, but something in that ballpark, wasn't sure at all which models to look at.

This is probably totally off-topic, but I just came to the revelation that the PING G430 LST 3w is the only fairway in the main market that is only available in a single head/loft option. Maybe the next model will change that? It seems a bit... old-fashioned, but I'm definitely not against that kind of philosophy in club design.

Def, BP S got my attention. I let go of the OG BP too soon for the i210 and many sets afterward.

I got to hit the Blueprint T's at a local place last night and man....did that feel great. I might order a set of 7-PW to offset my i230's. I am also waiting to see what happens with the new wedge line as I could use a new GW....

i love my 230s but gosh are they nice looking.. combo set is definitely looking appealing

My heart wants the blueprint s’s, my head tells me I need the extra forgiveness, top line and sole width of my 230s, my head is also looking forward to trying to rationalize how I am going to avoid spending the $$$ to make a combo set when I start to read reviews saying the differences in forgiveness aren’t that great

Hoping we see the I530 soon I can only hold off the Miz 245 for so long 🫣

Sidenote my fitter claims to have seen/hit them, he stated they are still completely hollow and feel blah like i525

i don't remember exact date but they are supposed to release in some point in February. My local shop showed me the schedule with dates. Wedges are one of the last products to be released for them I believe along with some new pld models which im also curious to see. As i have been wishing for a face balance tyne model for a while

Any news on what pld head shapes will be added to the list for 2024?

Anser, Anser 2D, DS72, Oslo 3, ally blue 4. Sound like they are gun metal in color and will have a stock line and some kind of upgraded line that will have some degree of customization on sight lines, pain fill and things like that, while not being a full PLD custom.
