Titleist T150s are gonna be all-timers

Finally got by the PGASS to see these in person. Love the looks. They had two pre-owned sets. Recoil F3 in one and LZ 6.0 in the other. I hit both 7i on the sim, starting with the Recoil (closest to what I play). The dispersion was as tight as anything I remember trying. Distance was about a club shorter than my clubs. The big surprise was the big draw and low spin (4500-5000). The LZ hit to the same distance, a bit less draw, with the same tight distro.

As good as they look and feel, I produced nothing with them to make me pull the trigger. As info, I play 902 PD with SF95s. 7i is usually 162-167 with 5400ish spin.

Added a T150 5-iron to the bag. It has that bit more pop and consistency off-centre than my TC-201 for better gapping.

It peaks the same as the Miura and only spins 300rpm less, but it is so consistent on carry for a 5-iron. Really impressive.

The T150 5-iron is definitely better for me than the Miura 201 5-iron. Different story across the rest of the set lol

Long time Titleist iron player and have had 3 versions of AP2 and still playing Gen 1 T100's. I really love my T100's and finally got around to hitting the T150's this weekend on Trackman. My biggest take away was how easy they are to hit and the ball speeds where very high for a 7 iron. 114mph and up to 120mph for me was producing smash factor numbers close to perfect. I hit the T100's and was hitting my 150 yard 7 irons like I expected but required alot more precise strikes and ball speeds never topped 107 mph. Really disappointed with the new T100's and I felt they were on par with my old 710MB's I used to have in terms of a demanding head. Looking at the numbers the T150 7 iron was 168-170 carry distance and I had to keep in mind that the loft is closer to my 6 iron T100 but just way easier to hit.  The T150's might just be the best iron Titleist has produced since the release of the AP2. The T150 paired with a standard PX shaft was really producing a nice flat piercing ball flight and coupled with a Prov1x to bring the spin numbers back up looks to be a fantastic combo for me.

I shot 70 yesterday with these in 40km winds. I think it's my 4th under par round in about 12-13 rounds with them so that is a bit better than my season average for frequency

I got to hit a few shots that i hadn't really played yet with these, namely punches into a strong wind. Coming back to the clubhouse on our back 9 i got to play a 158yd shot with a 7 iron and a 143yd shot with an 8 iron.

Was able to keep both low enough, which was nice because on full swings these launch high. But i was able to flight pretty well. And since we're all figuring here that these are fairly moderate spin , there definitely isn't a problem with over-spinning them.

I'll be able to get on a trackman with them all winter but i still don't have access to mine. Place only opens in November

I'll post some numbers later , i just got back and have to run.....

But the irons on a trackman are everything i thought and more. I was 10yds longer with each club versus my 659 (same loft) , and the same or higher spin rates and launch angle.

Again, these clubs are magic

I'll post screen shots of 190yd 6 irons , 177yd 7 irons and 166yd 8 irons  (carry)

All of these i couldn't touch with previous sets. And my spin numbers as mentioned were NOT lower.

I’ve never seen a 1.49 smash factor with a 7 iron.  Normally 1.35 - 1.38 is about as high as you get with short to mid irons.  1.5 is perfect with a driver….

I always leave it as 7 iron....that is actually a 6 iron.

I mostly just pay attention to launch and spin and carry. I know some of the other numbers can get misreads or etc. I recall at Callaway a few years back with WRX when testing the Epic some of us got smashes that were not possible

This was a 7 iron. Again at this time last year the highest trackman average I put up with 659 was 169 carry.

I probably hit 15 shots in a row over 170 carry

5k for a 7i is low spin.  Especially considering your swing speed.  Dispersion is meh.

I'm a naturally low spinning player. This is about normal for me with 7 iron. With driver I am low 2000s with low spin heads. The low spin is more me than the clubs, I was same with 659

I wasn't swinging very consistently today. That's why dispersion was bad. Mostly going with numbers from my good swings

As a fellow low spin player, how do you find these for stopping on the green? Do they come in high and stop?

Anything 7 iron or less is going to stop pretty quickly. Anything longer than that going to run a bit. My 5 iron if I launch at 14 degrees with spin in the 4000s, I'm gonna want to land front of the green.

My greens run at 10.5 or so

This is a swing thing for me.

Does anyone have any experience of the T150 4 iron as a 'driving iron' over the previous T200U 4 iron? I'm thinking of going back to steel for control and i'm liking the idea of the T150 as my driving iron as such, over the new T200. If Speith put the T150 in play as his DI at the Open I assume they are plenty long and forgiving?

You must have some impressive shaft lean.  Still very high smash factor.

I will trade you 5 mph of club head speed for some of that lean! 🤣

I play the ball back in my stance with every club except driver, it's definitely odd. I was self taught, and now it just works and i've been doing it too long. I am guessing that explains it

Finally got my set in today. Full t150 set p-5, 1 degree weak, project x lz 6.0 shafts throughout.

Gave them a hit today and they feel awesome! There's going to be a bit of an adjustment period since I'm coming from ping i25s that were 2 degrees upright, but when these are flushed they feel incredible!

I noticed that only the 7-5 irons have the muscle channel to give extra help, and on those longer irons you can definitely feel the extra forgiveness and softness of the club. A clever way to help golfers in the long irons. I'd say from 8-p it feels exactly like the t100 since they both don't have the muscle channel.

Really looking forward to some more practice sessions with these before going out on the course!
