I need to stop buying golf balls (at least for a while)

The wife was cleaning out the laundry room and found 2 dozen Maxfli Tours I completely forgot about.

The 2019 version of

Makes me wonder how many golf balls I have stashed and don't remember where they are.

 

Any body else find or the wife find, which is worse because she is always on me for buying golf balls . That they didn't know they had

Aha. My bad habit is buying a sleeve of each new release then disliking the first ball in the sleeve. Must have 4 dozen oddities. I do give them away or move them on cheap, but sticking to a ball could save me serious money.

I keep all of my boxes of golf balls together. When I buy new ones I add to the current stash. The only place I have found misplaced sleeves of golf balls are in my truck. I might throw a sleeve or two in there and forget I put them in there.

That's what I usually do. I have one of those plastic bins for storage with all my golf balls in, Ecept for the 2-4 dozen I keep where I store my bag. Still have no idea how these found there way to the spot the wife found them. They are probably purchased 3-4 years ago and didn't make it to the proper storage bin.

And here I thought this thread had some potential just from reading the title.  Get back to us when you send the FedEx driver's kids birthday cards with $20 in them because their mom/dad is awesome and hides your late-night, inebriated(?) club purchases behind a bush 'round the corner of the house so you don't get in trouble with the boss.

Any golf balls that sit on my shelf for a year get given away to people I play with or donated to the local First Tee. Or maybe if they're recent models of an expensive ball I might try to sell them on the forum classifieds.

 

It has simply never happened that, after I've moved on to other balls for a few months, I suddenly have the urge to switch back to, for instance, the 2021 Pro V1's I played for three months in early 2022. Just not gonna happen.

 

I do the same with long-unused clubs, as well. If a year goes by (or even 6-8 months) without me using them they're outta here.

part of the point of my original post was this. I buy golf balls and forget I buy them that a three year old 2 dozen balls just sitting in the laundry room . Makes me wonder where else I just might find some.

I go through phases. But I don't ever have more than a dozen dozen around. I do at times buy in bulk like a bag of 50 AAAA something I haven't tried. But they all stay in the garage where I know where they are.

One night my alma mater (Purdue) was in a late night March Madness game. My wife was out with friends so I was watching it alone. At the time I had a keg of bourbon-barrel aged imperial stout on tap and was going through pints... While Purdue was losing... So they flowed... 

 

A few days later, 4 pounds of hops showed up at my doorstep. At which point I was like "I vaguely remember ordering those..."

I think your wife needs to train you better.  Either that, or your laundry room is so big you rarely see parts of it.

Insert 'golf clubs" for "4 pounds of hops: and I've been there.  Do not drink and cruise CPO.
