Wilson 2024 new staff blade/cb, dynapower forged, staff wedges, staff balls

Loving all the information in this thread.  I recently purchased a brand new set of the previous model Wilson blades and have been playing them now for 6 weeks.  Wonderful irons.  I can't work out how I hit them better than my Mizunos.  I'm 6'3" and normally play 1/2 inch over and 2 degrees upright.  I thought I would buy them then adjust.  No need it seems, as I am hitting my irons better than I have for some time.  Go figure.  Will also have to disagree with the video above, as I think the current iteration of the blade is slightly better looking than the no W/S version. 😉

 

I hope new iron shoppers test these, as they are just as good as anything out there.  TXG's Ian hit both models better than I have seen him hit ANY iron.  You could throw a blanket over his 4 iron shots!  Wilson Staff make a fine iron, and I am sure these new versions will carry on this tradition.

There’s some good conversation on The STAFF X ball. Also,  if you follow Wilson Golf on Instagram there’s a great video with Kiz and two young  influencers who play W/S. Wilson has brand momentum and some buzz.

Yeah me an our DOI spent a lot of time fondling the wedges.  Much heavier feel to this model than the previous one.

I’m a Wilson guy. I want the wedges. Hope they carry the STAFF glove over with the new shield and some headwear too. I like their old school standbag. Think it’s called Classic but just love my Stitch SL2.

Very nice. Looking at some of his shots with the 7 iron I bet a degree or so flatter lie and maybe a couple wraps of tape would take care of the lefts. Probably too lite weight/flex for him as the stock shaft is barely 100g. 90mph with a seven iron…that’s getting some. My irons will be plus a half inch and three degrees flat…be interesting to see if mine want to go left as well. Thanks for sharing!

Very few of the grips Wilson offers has their logo…I’m only aware of the ladies winn and lamkin crossline in std & midsize. I’ve been using golfpride mcc+4 mids for almost 10 years…the stock grips are girlie sized.

Retail release is later this month but you can order with custom shaft/grip now.

Way to go again Wilson web team. Just got an email marketing customizing the blade and cb and when I follow the link I get this…. Ridiculous

I'd guess them mentioning the new blank shield as a "modern touch" or whatever was a talking point they were given so probably not worth reading into.

 

Wilson's website whiffs remain puzzling. A web design/UI intern could keep it accurate better than whatever's going on at the moment. Not a good look at all when people are trying to get new product. Wild to miss out on sales over something so easy to get right.

So I’m assuming you followed the exact link in the email that was sent? Or you didn’t and that’s why it worked for you when I clearly stated that’s what I did and what happened. I’m not sure how I would make up a 404 error page…. The website sucks it’s indefensible. The product is great there’s no argument there. I hope they can do a custom build better than they do a website build 
 

EDIT. And for the record now they fixed the link from the email to the customizer. Doesn’t make my prior experience with the site any less accurate…

Geez, do we need a tutorial in website 101. Their website is terrible. Southpaw is trying to simply point it out. Let’s just talk about the clubs without having to scroll by a ton of shafts and grips. Is there an embargo on the DynaPwr Forged iron. If so why is there already reviews.

Yeah that was a great video, thanks for sharing it @BirdieBob   I fall right between the 70 and 80 mph range, and the few swings I had with the stock DP Forged on our range with the  rep fell right in line with what I was seeing on the video.    One thing that reassured me was the Apex height.    Unlike many regular players I hear say "I hit the ball too high" --not the really don't---I thought by eyesight my flight was ok, but was only showing around 72 feet high, his 70 mph swing was just below that.    So I guess I'm right where the expected height should be for that speed.

It wasn’t too hard. I like the less mainstream stuff and I’ve been wanting to get back to a set of blades. Should be shipping pretty soon I hope. I haven’t seen a lefty set in the wild yet but was quoted a week or two shipping

I have the feeling the newly adjusted muscle for this model is going to make them even more forgiving than before with the same workability as the last. Looking at Ian getting pretty much the same numbers between the Blade & CB that might be the case. The originals are the best iron I can recall ever striking, you should be in for a treat. 

 

Great pricing for premium irons is a nice bonus.

The last MB I played was the Srixon 965. This is the first one I’ve seen since that is tempting. Great looking shape. It doesn’t look scary small but it has a nice compact head. Will be eager to hear how they play!

This made the case easy for me to not go combo. I also don’t love the looks of the cavity on the cb I’m sure feel and address is great but for being somewhat on the fence I opted straight mb. I also miss having a blade 3 iron in a sick way haha. 
 

I have heard the toe weighting really makes these play nice and still super workable and not very punishing. I can’t wait. Shouldn’t be long! Now if the weather will just keep cooperating I’ll be able to take them straight to the course!

I went through DD. Essentially got the 3 iron and grip upgrade for free, no tax, free shipping, can’t beat it. And they’re always awesome to work with.

I hit the new Staff Model Blade at my local shop with a Modus 120 shaft and it felt amazing! I’m around a 4 handicap and have always played CB’s and most recently the D9 forged. I didn’t expect much seeing that I’m in Ohio and it’s the middle of winter, but somehow I found the center of the club face consistently and didn’t test the forgiveness too much. Ball flight was higher than what I’m used to and distance was shorter but that’ understandable based on lofts being a full club less. I look forward to trying them out on a launch monitor soon to decide whether to combo or not. It sucks that my shop only has a demo 7 iron in each to test.

The Wilson Staff blades are the most forgiving blade iron I've ever owned.
