If Wilson gets me hooked by doing a 3 for 2 type deal then I'm likely to rebuy.

They did their 3 for 2 deal last November.

They probably won't be doing it on the new Staff as they need to recoup R&D/production investments.

The reality of the website being bad was enough to terminate a 17 year old account? Seems dramatic but ok.

Or, the heavy repping of Wilson, who aren't a sponsor, led to him being sanctioned, bounced, or pulling the plug.

There have been a number of folks here who left due to being asked to stop repping product without a sponsor arrangement

Fair enough. Have to play by the house rules or play elsewhere I suppose

He was a little thin skinned when it came to any criticism of the brand, no matter how well deserved.

That has zero to do with it. I bought clubs through him over the winter, I have his email and phone info, I may reach out to see if everything's OK with him on a personal level.

Good for you. Hope all is well. Please report back. I don’t have an issue with members who break the wrx rules getting suspended for a time period (if that is what it was) but I hope they aren’t handing out life sentences.

I believe if it says unregistered then it was through a request of the member.  Banned of course means what it says.

So Wilson also had a wedge release? Dang I just bought the previous iteration a month ago

Yeah, I picked up a tour grind 58* over the winter. The new model looks almost identical.

I suspect the differences between the two are largely cosmetic/finish.

Not sure how you are getting on with your purchase - but I've come to really love my Wilson wedge.

I've also been playing the Wilson Triad ball over the winter. Great ball. I wish the Staff models were just a bit cheaper.

I think it may have been mentioned earlier but the head weights on the new wedges might be a bit heavier than the last version.

I haven't yet; too much snow on the ground still. Indoor results are mixed. I have 50/54/58 and I haven't figured out the 58 yet. The 50 and 54 are going to be winners I think, but the feel is not what I am used to compared to my previous (and very soft) wedges so there's going to be a bit of an adjustment there as well.

Yeah, I completely know what you are saying. The metal feels light, has a clicky-ness to it that is weird.

Reminds me of Russian manufacturing and metallurgy - which offends western mechanical sensibilities.

We want dense, heavy, slick...

But there are other ways to get the job done. It's taken some time and concerted practice to become comfortable - but I've hit some amazing shots with my tour grind 58* and have become very comfortable with it.

For reference, I'm still working to get there with the 54* Glide 4.0 that I purchased about two months after the Wilson.

I didn't like it at first, but the new shield has grown on me. Wilson Staff made a mistake by not using it on the Dynapower Forged. Makes them already seem dated.

My local wilson rep said that my DP Forged have shipped. Pretty excited to get them in the bag. I think my order was submitted in the last week of Feb. So, almost 6 weeks lead time.

How do the LZ compare to the standard 5.5? I’m an aging guy who loves the Px 5.5, but curious about the LZ.

Softer throughout the whole profile with a much softer middle which gives a real kick/feel. You would probably need to go up to 6.0 in LZ for the stiffness side.

@YAMS49 summed it up very well.  I hit the 6.0 LZ during the fitting snd had good results.  But i was fearful i just caught it on a good day and worried ny swing wouldn’t hold up 18 holes with the 6.0

i’m 64 snd my iron swing speed tops out st 74 to 75.
