I hit the X briefly.  I was surprised at how low spinning it was.  I didn't care for the shape myself.  Very triangular.  But, for a forgiving head, it does do a good job at keeping the spin down.

Has anyone tried the LS model with the big weight in the back yet? Seems like this might make this club a little more approachable.

truthfully if you need that bit of forgiveness just go with the X and put the weights forward.

Unless if you want the shaping of ls and want a fade biased head. That X sits a bit toed in. If I was to go cobra then I'd go ls with heavy weight back.

Got my LS 9* last night.  Loft set to standard and heavy weight in the toe.  My miss is usually a bit toe side so putting the extra mass behind the strike.  Tried to show all 3 shot shapes, the draw was a bit of a pull but you get the idea.

I have been catching up on the thread while having major medical issues.  The pics and reviews are making me so anxious to purchase.  I am looking at the Darkspeed X in the driver and 3w.  Also, was fitted for the UST LIN-Q M40X Red.   Is this the authentic shaft from UST or a made for Cobra?

 

Also, I didn't see it (could have missed it) is there any information regarding whether there is a new version of the Forged Tec X irons coming out and if so, when?  If it were you, would you purchase the current model or wait?

swapped the X for the LS version in the driver -- was middling the x like crazy so, went to the LS with a 16g in the rear and 8g front heel, 3g front toe. it was great in the X...it's next level in the LS. whew.

Seems like alot of weight for a standard length club...do you play the Driver at a shorter length?

Those are the weights I have in mine, but it is 44.5" playing length.

i play 45", prefer a heavier swingweight --- and it came stock with 3,3,12? i only added 5g. not much.

Right, mine came 12-3-3, so 16-8-3 is 9g more.

I play 16-3-3 at 44.50 - 44.75 range depending on shaft...

I hit the X recently.  Very nice.  Didnt realize the heavier weight was up front.  So the demo day guy reversed them for me.  With the heavier weight back the flight was higher.  It was 25* outside so I wasnt too worried about anything about it to be honest.  But I could tell the flight difference right away.  Dispersion was excellent in either configuration to be honest.

If memory serves me correctly the 2022 Forged Tec irons released in April of2022. That being said I haven't really heard anything about an updated model for this year. They are usually on a 2 year release cycle so I would think they are due for an update.
