Ping i530 Leaked Photo

Recommended Posts

I was able to hit these today alongside BP S and all I can say is WOW!!!  They felt soft, almost forged. I dare say, they felt just as good as the Blueprints did.  i530 lofts are 3 degrees stronger, but what I saw was super impressive even with jacked lofts.

Both shafted with Modus 105S:

i530

Carry 169 with 4900 Spin, 20 launch and a lovely decent of 49.

Blueprint S

Carry 155 with 5800 spin, 18.5 launch and decent angle of 45

I had a chance to hit these last week and I do think they’re a noticeable improvement on the i525s in terms of sound and feel. As soft and muted as I’d like? No, but competitive with other irons in the players’ distance space, whereas the i525s clearly were not.

I was seeing 7 iron spin in the low 4000s compared to low 6000s with my i230s. However, the i530s were a full club and a half longer, and were reaching a slightly higher peak height, so landing a touch steeper or basically at the same angle, depending on the strike. With the height and landing angles I was seeing (around 95 feet compared to high 80s with my i230s, and around 47 degrees with both), I think they’d have a reasonable chance to stop relatively quickly on greens.

Anyone gonna combo with BPS...saw these in store and shape is better than i230 to me and fit better with BPS shape wise compared to i230.  Kinda like the titleist staffers are comboing T200 with t100...could see some comboing i530 in upper upper like 3&4 maybe 5 with BPS rest of way.

I’ve looked at but the lofts are way off. Would be looking at duplicating iron numbers like two 7 irons in the bag to get lofts close

Retrospect lofts in i530 and powerspec in BPs is only way to do it.

Or consider 4-iron only in 530 (they don't do a 3), and let it be its own beast.

A friend of mine put these in the bag a couple weeks ago.  Scratch handicap, still plays the back tees and he's 75 years old.  He's been playing mostly P790s the past few years.   I played this weekend with him, he hit them great, says he loves them.   Modus 105S, same shaft he had in his P790s, I would say he hit them 1/2 to 1 club longer, good trajectory/spin.   They are not my type of iron, but they look nice and seem pretty impressive for what they are.

I’ve had mine since the release date. I’m going to be selling mine. They are great and forgiving but they are just too long for me. The gaps are too big.

Can you be more specific? Gaps between irons? Gaps between irons and wedges?

My biggest thing was the 7 iron going 190. That’s a lot. I don’t like the idea of having extra wedges in my bag to fill the gaps.

I know my game, I really don’t feel like changing it for these irons.

But I will say, incredibly forgiving and fun to swing. Just not the right set for me.

I hit the 7i with alta cb graphite shaft in reg loft 197 yards. Which i thought was super wild. I was never going to play the graphites just did it for the fitting. I ended up sacrificing some distance to gain some spin/height/dispersion by dropping down to regular flex shafts for this set as i was kinda borderline anyway. In the stiff stock steel shafts i think i was averaging around 170 so i was totally ok losing some yardage.

i actually had to change my wedge set up due to the stock loft on the pw and Uw in the set being so different then my current set. But luckily it was just my vokey 56 I’m giving it to a friend and i bought the 54 sm10 just to space out my gaps better

Loving my i530s especially the chip shots. With my Cobra Forged Tec X irons, I am never 100% certain how hot the ball will come off the face but these i530 remove any doubt. Solid, solid for chip shots into the green.

Micro grooves are stellar too. Today I had a 144 yard chip with the 8 iron. Flighted nicely and low and it checked on the green even when the slope was downhill. Amazing from my POV

I do not find these clubs clicky at all. Have not had any fliers  either from the rough (unlike my old Gen 1 P790s)

Love'em

Still getting used to the clicky sound of these compared to i230's.

Have only hit them indoors. Hoping it will be better outdoors.

had a chance to play 18 over the weekend and while clicky indoors, the sound isn't noticeable outdoors. while just 18 holes and many hours on the simulator, I have zero regrets pulling the Axiom 105s from my i230's and installing in the i530's.

Loving the extra forgiveness especially in the longer clubs.

Even though standard spec lofts, still need to adjust as the i530 8 iron for example is really a i230 7 iron.

How’s the stopping power compare? That’s my biggest worry with i530s.
