New Mitsubishi Tensei 1K Red incoming?

Recommended Posts

Seen on instagram earlier, looks like they may be releasing a red 1K to go along with white, black, orange and blue.

Nah, the 1K Red would probably follow Mitsubishi’s typical tip-soft red profile be a competitor to shafts more like the CQ and Ventus Red.

It makes sense for Mitsubishi to complete the 1K lineup! A red is all that’s missing.

About time. Mitsubishi doesnt really have a premium 'red' profile at all in any of their lines.

The last one they made was the Tensei CK Pro Red and that was pretty much TX flex only for tour and it has extremely limited adoption by players.

Their red board lineage has not sold well historically (especially in the stiffer flex parts). I am actually surprised that they are actually releasing this rather than simply adding it to their OEM AV line at lower weights/flexes as those users tend to be the target market for this.

I actually just saw the instagram video of these and it shows only TX flexes.

Would be very stupid for MCA to do that again but who knows.

I think the only Tensei Pro Red shaft I ever saw was in the bag of Aaron Baddeley a few years ago. I wonder if they are influenced by the success of the Venus Red?

Will be tough to compete against the Ventus Red TR Line.

The shafts were just introduced on Tour so TX flex in a softer tipped profile is pretty standard.

Shocked there’s not more on this shaft. Got fit into a 60x this evening and numbers were incredible. Stable but smooth. The counterbalance helped me hit up more on it for sure. My fitter has already sold a ton of them this year, just weird it’s not even on Mitsubishis site.

I'm beginning to wonder if the 1K Red is truly aftermarket or OEM stock shaft like the 1K Black.

It is truly aftermarket. Same MSRP as the others as well as premium materials.

There was a CK Pro Red so I would go with aftermarket. Whereas the 1K Black just sorta popped up (titleist) and was never a thing previously.

I agree that it's not a failure.  It was pretty good when I tested it in 3 metal but no bueno in driver.  It has a small presence on the tours.  Thomas Detry and Grillo have them in their bags if I remember correctly.

Yes.  Was @Morryasking about the Red?  I may have read his post wrong.  MCA's red profiles usually have a softer tip than the blue from what I remember.  A good example is the Kai'li line where red is med/med/soft.

He had an OG Ventus Red 8x in his 16.5° 4-wood, then he switched to a 14.5° 3-wood with a TR Ventus Red 8x, which then got swapped for the Tensei 1K Red 8x… looks like he went back to the TR Ventus Red, based on the recently posted “Bob Does Sports vs. Homa” re-match on YouTube.

Titleist.
