?? you're new here. there's always been issues with X golfer talking about Y,Z threads...this is not uncommon. is this a dig at people who've been here awhile or...just trying to throw your name out there?

And posts to mods about cleaning 🧹 up their perceived ‘irrelevant’ and ‘off topic’ info within threads. The screen name says it all. 🤦🏼‍♂️

genuinely i was asking him as someone who has been here for a very long time -- there's a lot of irrelevant/off topic things in quite a few threads. there are quite a few of us who've been here a long time that dont post as much as we used to - simply due to this issue.

I was actually here at the inception of the site. Was gone long enough that I had re-sign up a little over 2yrs ago. There are definitely some off topic convos going on in some threads. I find it quite funny most of the time and never once has is bothered me anywhere near enough to complain about it. The only thing constant in this world is change. In my experience, the older ppl get, the harder it is for them to deal with this change. Im sure I’ll get there one day! In the mean time, it’s just a golf website/forum and not that serious IMO.

completely agree with you on not that serious lol

Seriously!
It’s just a forum. People have various opinions. Most people seem to be polite and that’s a nice thing.
(Of course, I don’t meet the  proposed10 year cut off. Ha ha )

"Get dressed Spaulding, you're playing golf today."
" No I'm not Grandpa, I'm playing tennis."
"No, you're playing golf and you're going to like it."

The culture is certainly different than it was in the mid 2000s when I joined.  That said, I don't agree with a segregated board for any reason.  I certainly do see a changing of the guard in some of the boards I frequent and some of that isn't to my liking.  If I don't like it I can just ride off into the sunset.  The so called torch has been handed to a new group of members and whether this is good or not is certainly not my place to say.

I have been on this site since 2009. What makes this forum interesting is the variety of people that post on the site. Do I agree with every post? No...I can easily scroll on if need be..I enjoy the long time members and wonder what has happened to some that don't post anymore. I also enjoy new members. It has never bothered me if something has been beaten to death except for the people that reply "this has been beaten to death" Why not just move on. I know some topics never get old to me and if they do I scroll on.

One thing I wonder about with a new member. Why do I see so many replying to an old thread where the last reply was 3, 5, 10 years ago?

I've been on here for about 15 years now. There has been an obvious decline in post volume in recent years. I think there has also been a recent small but noticeable decline in civility in this forum within some threads, but this just mirrors what is going on in society in general right now particularly since COVID and is not necessary golfwrx-specific. I see it on certain non-golf forums as well. It can easily be scrolled past and ignored, no reason to engage further with it.

There is still so much "gold" in terms of information and insight here that keeps me coming back.

Guessing bcs they use the search function and it lands em on something old.

THIS.

I mean seriously, it's like a form of golfer PMS that happens once a year so everyone collectively forgets that it's a thing. Golfers are already f'n goofballs on average.....take away their golf for a few months due to seasons and everyone goes strange for a bit. I mean I just bought a new set of IRONS.....I haven't done that since Obama.

Some of us are fortunate to be in a different geographical area yet we still whine.  These pics are from my round earlier today.  Hopefully I don't whine too bad.  If I do feed me to the little lizard in the pictures.  😁

Yes, Palm Harbor.  I think the holes are right.  The first pic is on the front side.  Right angles dogleg right. About 230-240 yard then dogleg.  If you zoom in you can see my drive in the fairway.  Gator, just sunning a bit.  Didn't flinch a single muscle.  Just the way I like it.

That's the one, number 4. Same gator was sunning 3 or 4 weeks ago when I played there.
