It's actually quite a bit bigger than I thought! I had expected it to be more like 2/3 the size of the DF2.1 but it looks more like 3/4 or 4/5. I wonder how it'll compare to the Mezz, and if the face feel will be different from DF2.1

Got a green DF3. Looking forward to the upcoming battle between my 2.1, Mezz Max broom and the new DF3.

Surprising…I expected about the same as the 2.1

Guess I’ll be sticking with the 2.1 I just bought.🤔

Has anyone tried the TPT shaft?  They really hype the description of the TPT versus other shafts.  Anyone have any experience with it vs the LA Golf or BGT shaft?

Check some other LAB threads on here. Lots of posts about it. What I read, money no issues, it is worth it.

I second this. I speak from experience owning multiple lab putters with different shafts and the upgraded shafts are well worth it if you can stomach the cost. I’ve found better performance and feel even with just the ACCRA shaft, although my favorite by far is the BGT Stability. Haven’t tried TPT yet.

If you read that thread, general consensus is standard putter length doesn’t make a difference .. if getting a broom or armlock , get an upgraded shaft.

I feel this is bad advice. At standard length it absolutely makes a difference. Still lab magic with the stock shaft for sure, but I’d argue all day the upgraded shafts improve putting performance even at standard length. Upgrading at least to the ACCRA is a no brainer.  I can’t tell you how many guys I’ve spoken to that bought the stock shaft just to try LAB out and then ended up selling that putter to help finance another LAB with an upgraded shaft.

I actually spoke with a LAB Fitting employee this morning about the shafts as I'm looking at a 40" CB build. I asked if at 40" the Accra would potentially be a bit whippy and if the TPT was worth the upgrade. His response was "At 40" they will use an Accra long so it should be a little more stout then the normal Accra shaft. It's when you get in that 48-50 inch range for the broomstick that it gets whippy. You should be okay, but the TPT is the best shaft by a wide margin especially in the longer putters."

I think my plan is to go with the Accra and see how it works. Hard to believe you still wouldn't get great performance from it. See how the year goes and if I want an upgraded TPT shaft hope they have a Black Friday sale again in 2024 and order then.

I have been using BGT Stability Tour since i got my DF 2.1 in 2019.  I also use a BGT Fire, UST All-in, Stroke lab in my Odyssey 7s which the BGT was king there too.

I tested the LA Golf one and did not love the feeling.  My concern was that the TPT would feel similar to the LA Golf shaft.  I did not see a place to test the TPT around my area so i went with the BGT One on my DF3.

The TPT feels nothing like the LA Golf shaft, for others interested.  The LA shaft feels super crisp but not especially soft, and the feedback is fine.

The TPT feels EXACTLY how a putter shaft should feel.  I have said this elsewhere, but you feel precisely where you strike the ball on the face - it’s nuts - while still maintaining good results on mishits.  I cannot stress enough - if you have the dough, go TPT. No contest.

I already ordered mine with the tried and true BGT, but i will definitely try the TPT on my future DF 4.1

Took the plunge! First LAB putter, can't wait for it to get here. 40" counterbalance build, black head, same T alignment as stock orders, black Accra shaft.

Once you go Lab you never go back. Make sure to read the forums here regarding technique. It's different. Once you get your technique and aim fine tuned, it's money.

Glad to hear the TPT is worth it since that was the option I went with in mine.  I've been a LONG time BGT shaft guy in my Bettinardis and love them but wanted something different in a different type of putter.

People who ordered counterbalanced version, can you share the specs of the putter? Has anyone tried a CB putter with high lie angle (~74 deg)?

I did 72* in the CB I ordered, but that’s what my specs were for a normal putter as well. I have a jailbird and find that for me personally the lie angle doesn’t change from a normal putter.
