43 and just started using a push cart this year. I should have done it years ago. After looking over many different options, I settled on the Sun Mountain Speed Cart GT and could not be happier. I retain all the benefits of walking without any of the bag fatigue. I have also noticed many younger players using them vs carrying. It's simply a no-brainer.

I bought my first push cart 4 years ago when I was 29 and my only regret was not doing it sooner. It was a great investment. I've suffered from back pain for most of my life but the pains have been much less since getting one.

I used to feel the same way but after I decided to give up the cart to burn those extra 1800 calories (and 3 rounds of making my shoulders too tired to swing the club 100 times) I got the 3.5+ and I'm loving it.

I notice more and more young-ish people using them all the time. I play with a 25 year old with one. I feel like it's closer to how the game was meant to be played. It's one less thing to worry abiut ehen you get to the course, and your setup is always the same.

Did a little experiment yesterday. I've had my push cart since May 2016, and haven't carried since, but walk a lot with the push cart. I decided to carry yesterday, and am paying the price today with sore knees and feet. Experiment over...

Yeah, I do that once a year or so. Every time I either give up and borrow a push cart for the back nine, quit after nine holes or press on for the entire round and limp the next day like someone twice my age.

You'd think I'd remember and not make the same mistake again. But eventually I'll be leaving home to go to the course and think, "Why mess around with putting the trolley in the car. I can just carry today". It's quite amazing how stupid I am.

If I had any sense I'd just buy a cart bag with no straps to use on my push cart. Remove the temptation to sling it over my shoulder next time that brilliant idea occurs to me.

How well does a staff bag fit on the clicgear 3.5? Looking to start walking again after being at a club where the distance between green and the next tee is absurdly long. I also love my staff bag. Everything stays dry and I have all of the things i need.

This thread has been around so long that some of us are going to have to change our answers...

BTW, at least in New Zealand, this is a pointless survey. They don't do electric "buggies" here; everyone walks.

14 Pings. Blueprints are incredibly good. Fetch is the most underrated putter on the market. Don't @ me.

I have been using a push cart (62 years old), but I have to admit it is a bit of a bother. First there is the unloading, setting it up, etc. After the round I have to use a brush to get all the grass off the wheels, tires, and parts of the frame, break it down, load it into my vehicle, and after all that I still get sand, dirt, and grass in the vehicle. I am thinking of going with a minimalist bag and carrying. I did this my last two rounds of 2017 and enjoyed it a lot more...I scored well too.

I put one of those molded plastic "trays" in the trunk of my car, the kind that's specific to the car model. So when I toss my electric trolley back there the dirt and sand collects in the grooves and I can just vacuum it out. My previous car had carpet back there that was eventually ruined by the sand embedding into it.

P.S. I wonder if I'm the first golfer ever to take his trolley and golf bag and test fit them in the trunk of cars I'm getting ready to test drive. Probably not!

I used to be self conscious about using a push cart myself, but the rewards highly outweigh the possible perception of using one. Soreness, tightness, and general awkwardness of carrying started taking a toll on my swing at times. I used to be the same way at a grocery store, thinking shopping carts were embarrassing, but they sure make carrying your purchases a lot easier. I was the idiot carrying a gallon of milk, case of soda, loaf of bread and a bag of vegetables through the store, all in my hands, straining every step until I got to the checkout counter. Make life easier, not harder, even if you look less manly doing so. Most people wouldn't notice you anyway; we're all too concentrated on ourselves to worry about what other people are doing/using.

Love my pushcart. Especially early mornings in the summer

I love walking courses, but I hate having to lug around a really awkwardly shaped backpack and hear the clanging of my irons with every step I take. The push cart is the perfect solution.

I don't see why age matters, those things should annoy everyone regardless of age.

Push Cart > lugging a heavy bag. I mentioned this in the other push cart thread, but my buddies and I have had ClicGear push carts for about 4 years now and we absolutely love them. We walk about 90% of the time so they've paid for themselves already. Playing in the Northern VA area, we have soooo much heat and humidity in the summer time that it's worth it to have one, no matter what age you are.

Great topic!

Got my clicgear 3.0 from my uncle (he won it in a scramble), He aint a walker so it sat in garage brand new for year or two before i got it... Told myself if i got it, that i would start walking the course, for the health reasons, and the price difference. With two boys playing high school golf gotta try and save $ where you can. Plus its a great way to connect, with nature, and with playing partners. I like the walk to a well hit drive. Yeah the cart is nice. but when you get winded walking that 250, and you turn back around and see the tee box? Thats the stuff right there! As for the health benefits? i have noticed weight loss, and way less stiff after a round. the body stays limber when walking. (think about it? you stand up, swing hard one time, then sit? go to ball swing one time, then sit again. repeat....) you need to engage the muscles.... ACTIVATE THE GLUTES!!! My swing is looser, fluid. and i do like to carry water, small speaker. and i make it a trek man, I go for it... I play the course. i conquer the course. I want to walk some of the big ones some day. TPC sawgrass. Pebble.
