[/quote]workers might take a bottle every now and then, but this guy had 5 barrels at his house, how they got those out is beyond me. It was worth about 30 grand. But since it was 7 years old he could just sell it uncut on the black market and make a lot more.

Wow. Wouldnt have guessed wild turkey would have cost that much. I do like wild turkey BTW. I would love to have a barrel in my basement. Anyone try one of those mini barrels?

johnnybogey inspired me to pick up a bottle of Jefferson's 25 rye today...so much bourbon/whiskey and so little time...

 

Still haven't picked up the JPS 21 Rye. I've gone a little over board since getting into Bourbon at the start of the year. But I agree, so much bourbon, so little time.

Any other Angel's Envy lovers? I've tried plenty rarer and more expensive, but for me that is the most delicious elixir of all.

anyone know the source for Angel's Envy bourbon/whiskey? I know after they buy the booze they put the bourbon in port barrels and the rye in rum casks for a few months after they purchase it to tweak the taste a tad; I've heard they are planning to build their own distillery

Confirmed. I believe they finalized location and such for the distillery.

The source of the bourbon is still a mystery. Many have speculated that it came from Brown Forman (as Lincoln Henderson was the retired master distiller of Woodford Reserve). Again, just speculation.

Got a bottle of George Dickel Barrel Select for my birthday. Only had a couple pours so far, but I am enjoying it so far.

Great to hear!

Hopefully the next press conference identifies that we are not in a bourbon shortage so I can continue to buy my favorites at a normal pace, at a normal price, like a normal person.

Been drinking a ton of Smooth Ambler 7 year bourbon and enjoying every sip of it. This is quickly becoming my daily pour. This restores my faith that fine bourbon can be had for $35.

Being originally from Kentucky, I've had plenty of bourbon. However, I moved 6 years ago and both my consumption and knowledge of bourbon has gone downhill. Maybe down Mt. Everest would be more accurate. The selection and availability isn't the same up here in Massachusetts.

Anyways, and fans of Rock Hill Farms single barrel? Always enjoyed that one.

Being originally from Kentucky, I've had plenty of bourbon. However, I moved 6 years ago and both my consumption and knowledge of bourbon has gone downhill. Maybe down Mt. Everest would be more accurate. The selection and availability isn't the same up here in Massachusetts.

Anyways, and fans of Rock Hill Farms single barrel? Always enjoyed that one.

Man, all that access gift shop only bottles.

Sad finally able to find a bottle of Rock Hill Farms. The scarcity with this label is insane by me (NY) and the price is pretty expensive (55-65 range). Hope to crack it open soon.

I had it for the first time ever at the airport a couple months ago at the start of a golf trip because they didn't have my usual go-to Woodford. I have to say it was pretty solid.

we haven't talked bourbon in awhile! here are my latest acquisitions...obviously, the Pappy is king...will probably need something to celebrate to crack open the Jefferson's 25 (i'm playing a tourney soon at Hazeltine, maybe if that goes well, it will give me incentive); the Mastersons was disappointing, especially for an $80-dlr bottle; the Rock Hill Farm is quite nice

Never had Masterson's Barley. The rye is awesome. Masterson's and Whistlepig...great Canadian whisky

here's my latest bourbon/whiskey buys...the Willett is aged in curacao (orange liquer) casks, while the Jefferson's is aged in French wine cabernet casks...I haven't tried the Willett's yet, but the Jefferson's was nice enough for me to grab the last bottle available at my local shop; any thoughts on why the cask experimentation? I was wondering if the shortage of aged bourbon/American whiskey is prompting the move to try and add value to whiskey that doesn't have extensive aging?
