Bookers is definitely solid. But right now I'm sipping on some Four Roses Small Batch - it is a great bourbon for the price. However, Blanton's is definitely my favorite so far.

Ive said it in here before but for the $$ there's not a better bourbon than 10yr Eagle Rare.

Yes there is......or was. Weller's 12....which is Pappy's in the womb.

Only now it has made it to the "special" on call list and not routinely shelved. So by default I guess you're right.

Personally, I never cared for either Eagle's Rare or 4 Roses.

i remember a while back talk in this thread about Blanton's shortages...my local B&M has now moved Blanton's above the top shelf into the rare/specialized section with a note saying "ONLY 1 PER CUSTOMER"

Love Blanton's, love Maker's Mark. The one I drink, though, is Jim Beam. I've always liked it, but I had a wonderful cat named Jimmy. One of his many ridiculous nicknames was 'Beanie', so Jim Beam is close enough. Whenever I order it, I ask for for 'Jim Bean'. Everyone seems to understand.

Four Roses or Michters would be worth a try. I started with Woodford and gravitated towards those.

Just curious what you guys are paying for Blantons and the likes. Trying to figure if its overpriced here even with the weak CAD or half decent.

Blasphemy! Eagle Rare and Four Roses Small Batch are my go-to's for under $30. I've never seen Weller 12 anywhere unfortunately. Have a half a bottle of Weller Special Reserve left in my bar at the moment though...

Probably going to be drinking Four Roses Single Barrel in an hour or so once my rascal kids go to sleep...

Jack Daniels Single Barrel is one of the best I have had. And....they could call it bourbon if the wanted to but market it differently...seems to work well since they are the best selling American whisky.

Good choices. Woodford is excellent for it's price. Blantons is my current go to, but it is difficult to find, starting last summer I believe. This caused the prices to go up. Here in Wisconsin, if you can find Blantons, it goes for about $55 USD.

Went to a bar last night and they didn't have any Beam products. Went with Buffalo Trace. I was going to bring up this thread to see the recommendations from past comments. Then I saw their higher end selections and I clammed up from indecision and went with Buffalo Trace.

For a distiller without a lot of back story (I know the distillery is old and haunted and all that) and at an entry level price point I quite enjoy it. i need to expand outside of my Beam Bonded love affair that is going on right now.

I tried the small batch. I wasn't a big fan. I thought it was a little boozy tasting.

Same thoughts here, although I would try again, I would not buy it again unless you like high proof quite a bit.

IMO Buffalo Trace is one of the best bourbons for the $$ out there, if not the best. BT and Eagle Rare are a couple of great daily drinkers...

Agree with this. I would also add Elijah Craig 12 year and Bowman brothers to that list. 4 excellent bourbons for under $30
