Can anyone compare a kombi feel to a sydney feel (I assume the nome as the same feel as the sydney)? I have a sydney and I don't think it feels anything like the redwood line.

The reason it doesn't feel like the Redwood line is that they are 303 Stainless, and the Sydney is Nano-Nickel coated Aluminium (or Aluminum depending on where you are from )

I went from a Kombi-S to the Sydney, the decision was based on pure performance. As already mentioned here, this looks like a fine marriage of the two, which for me, may truly equal the perfect putter... I can't wait!

I putted with a Nome yesterday. Feels identical to the Sydney. It gives great feedback with the coating compared to a non coated aluminum head, which in my opinion feels dead. It looks much cleaner without all the wings on it compared to the Sydney. I like the fact you can get the Nome with different toe hangs to match your stroke. I have a belly on order with the most toe hang available. I might switch out the red top from my Sydney and put it onto my Nome when I get it.

I don't believe there will be a center shafted version. Only heel shafted with 3 different toe hangs. If memory serves it is 405 grams for the belly and 355 for the standard.

Does anyone know which shaft version of the Nome is being played by Hunter Mahan? Is it face-balanced or mid-hang for a "slight arc" putter path?

On the Ping putter app for iPhone/iPod, they describe Mahan as having a "slight arc" path, but several stories on Mahan's new putter describe it as face-balanced (which would match a "straight" path rather than a "slight arc").

I was told by Ping this weekend that Hunter was missing his putts to the left. They brought some alignment tools to measure it at the WGC and also brought I think the #4 Anser and the Nome with a double bend shaft the same as Hunter played growing up. The Nome sat perfect for him. Off to the races.

I have hot the Nome and it looks great. Round lines and thicker height than it look in the photos. Feel is great.

Also the putter is milled on CNC's at Ping in Arizona.
