How are you guys testing the SW? I know what SW I like, but can probably only "feel" to [i]maybe[/i] 2 points accuracy. Still, I want my irons to be accurate. Do you have a SW scale or something?

MY I20S are taking forever. I ordered them almost 3 weeks ago - DD said they have shipped from Ping to them (going to toronto ping won't drop ship).

I tried to cancel but no luck. Stupid me I should have gone with the MP59s as planned!

I checked with Ping regarding the grips, the new decade multicompound were on my Mizzy's, she said it was a $13 up charge per grip, I said thanks I'll go stock.

I posted several pages before...I hadn't played PING in many years...and forgot about their grips...can't stand them! Yeah I know there are those that love them....glad for you, but I can't stand them. When mine arrived, I went to the range...and from there to the local PGA Super Store. I put GP multi's on that evening. MUCH better in my opinion!

$13 dollar upcharge? Really??? I bought them for $8.99 a grip at PGA SS. Glad I did it myself!

I was quite surprised as well to see what I was quoted to [i]just get the IE8 Full Cord Grip[/i]! Not a NDMC or anything like that. The stock corded grip was a $10 per club upcharge!

My next question was if I could just have the grips shipped loose in the box so I could just put on my own and of course they said that is not possible. I guess when I do order and receive these I will be cutting brand new grips off to place my Lamkin Tour Cords on there.

Of course the original retailer I was going to use could have done all of those things at no charge, but we know what happened there.

Are these truly THAT forgiving that a 12 hc could play them? I'm reading that they are the best of both worlds. The feel of forged, the look of a player's club, but extremely forgiving. This sound accurate? I'm wondering if I can get away with these. Need to find a demo.

I believe a 12 could play them. Don't get me wrong...these are not game improvement clubs...but they do forgive contact off the dead center of the sweet spot pretty nicely. I don't know that I would say they feel like forged. I have played Titleist and Mizuno..Mizuno's are like butter when you have good contact, and Titleist, while not the same is different from these as well. You certainly can tell when you are on the mark with these...and not saying their bad (I love mine) but they are different than hitting a forged iron.

Extremely forgiving is subjective...they are, at least in my opinion more forgiving than Mizuno's current offering, as well as Titleist's in the "player's iron" category. But it is a matter of degree. Are the i20's going to be as forgiving as a super game improvement iron? No...definitely not.

Best thing you can do is go hit them and see what you think.

Nope. Definitely did not hit 15 greens. Definitely did not hit greens that would have been missed with the ap2 due to mishits. Definitely did not hold shots better into the wind. 2+2 does not equal 4 and you should definitely not try these clubs with c-tapers.

Got mine today from DD. Look perfect. Taking them out for a spin tomorrow. I'm an 11 handicap and I feel very confident with these. No problems finding the sweet spot when demoed over and over again.

Mine took two weeks from DD, stock black dot CFS shaft.
Unfortunately they do not work for me so they will be in the swap shop as soon as I can get pics uploaded.

I got a 2 week turn around time for my order. I ordered the irons with Modus3 and 20* hybrid with the UST VTS red. I can't wait. I'm 1 week in and hopefully it's here by next week.

Easily, I think even a 15 could play these. I'm around a 12 and just got a set of S56's. I hope I'm not in over my head but if I am I still have my i15's.

I think you'll be fine. I'm a 13 who previously played the i5. I would say they are pretty forgiving, but not 'extremely' forgiving like the G20. They are big enough to not be intimidating at address with fairly wide soles. (I played with a buddy who had i3s in the bag and these were a bit bigger (though with a slightly smaller sole.) If you miss a bit on the toe or heel you aren't going to be severely punished. To me they play very similar to the i5s....but feel and look a LOT better.

I received my I20s on Tuesday, 2.5 weeks after ordering. Yellow lie, +1/2", one degree stronger lofts.

Some things changed. I didn't like the sound of the i20 fairway wood or hybrid. I went back to my trusty a12 hybrid and an R11S fairway wood.

The i20 driver is nice with the TFC707D stiff. Irons all X-flex soft stepped once.

That Ping putter head cover is just sitting there. I actually play an Odyssey #7.

My short review on my i20's...Very very nice. Definitely better overall than the i15's. However, NOT as big a jump from i15 to i20 as was i10 to i15. Very nice feel, nice progression of offset from long to short irons. A winner for sure. I could play these all season maybe.

Well I went to the driving range with my trusty I3+ to work on a couple of things. I got home and there were my new irons. guess I will have to wait to tomorrow to try them out. They arrived on the projected shipping date that I received when I ordered them.

No way I ordered them on the same day at about noon where are mine? hah I am jealous. Maybe I should give the shop a call...

A buddy of mine asked me to play some golf tomorrow. I almost just wanted to say no as I want to play my new irons and not my old crappy ones. Oh well guess another round with them won't hurt.

As replacements for the Tour-W wedges, I had already bought Tour-S wedges, 1½ months before I tested the i20 irons. FWIW, I custom ordered the wedges, different from i20 specs. TBH, it never crossed my mind to try i20 wedges as I've been gaming Tour-Ws ever since they were available on the market.
