He is not bad, you can tell he plays a lot of golf. I was hitting near him on the range and he is pretty long but not anything special. He needs better clubs though...

Year as in 2014? I hope so but that would be saying a lot.

All the SLDR woods (Driver,3W,HY) are longer than the 913 stuff. Today I had 190 in on a 500 yard middle pin par 5. On the same hole I have never been within 200 with my 913 driver combos. There is a hump in the middle of the fairway that you have to get over to get within 200. Never been able to carry it with the 913's in probably a dozen rounds. Cleared it playing the hole for first time with the SLDR. The 3W is longer than the FD and a lot more versatile, it actually has a playable flight off the deck. The SLDR hybrid is 20° compared to my HD 18°, SLDR is easier to hit and goes just as far (much higher though, borderline too high).

The irons is not a fair comparison yet. The TP irons are 2° flatter and 1° stronger. The flatter lie angle is better for me, so I need to get my Fourteen irons bent to the same specs and then compare. I am planning on doing this at some point.

Yeah it's a DLL.

I also just got a set of Nike wedges, that I really like. The head shape really fits my eye....

Saw your review on the Nike wedges and I'll definitely be giving them a look, heel relief is really important for me so I like the idea behind the toe sweep design. I'll be picking up some SLDR woods as soon as the weather permits play out here.

I can never find anything on this site anymore but you ended up with a 5 wood from the kingdom, right? How do you like that club and how are the gaps with the 3 wood and hybrid?

Yeah the 5 wood is a an experiment, so far I'm a lot more consistent with the hybrid and better off with three wedges. I might rotate it in on some longer courses.

Off the tee the 3 wood carries in the 250 range, hybrid carries in the 225 range. Probably 10 yards less off the deck. The 3W has a lot of run on it though compared to the hybrid and is a much flatter flight. I hit the hybrid really high but it's not a problem because the spin is not too high.

Are you still using your Ping Hoofer? I've been looking around for a new bag, and I have been mainly considering the Titleist Stadry Premiere. I'm reconsidering spending so much money on a bag. I've also been looking towards Sun Mountain, but didn't really like any of the options.

So no more Miuras huh? I went to a full set of 501s and I like them much better. The turf interaction is better and they don't dig as much as the TBs did.
The new TM MB are prob one of the best irons for 2014. I hit them the other week and they feel and look great.

Like the way those wedges look, kinda wish I wasn't going away from a mostly nike bag over the last year. Here in Mi they just announced you won't need to use conforming grooves in competition this year, should just keep my pro combos. Something about that toe sweep, a combo of my desire to hit high soft shots because I don't spin it a ton and just that its something completely different design wise make me want to pick one up.

Finish (not a fan of the chrome), shafts, grips, etc... Right now they are stock, I have played enough rounds with them and I think they are good enough to put some more money into and game for a while.

Yeah for now but I am on the hunt for something else. I have a few other bags but I just prefer using Ping bags for some reason. I don't like the straight legs of the Titleist bags, I feel like I always have to stand off to the side when picking them up. I thought about the premier but if you look at any reviews of the Stay Dry bags everyone mentions how horrible the zippers are for everyday use. Sun Mountain insists on picking the brightest colors and then adding a huge logo to the side.

Yeah I moved on but I gamed them for almost a year I think and played nothing but the Miuras for that entire time. They are good irons but I just honestly feel that there are better options in regards to performance with the TB's and 501's. The TB's just dig way too much and the 501's are less forgiving than most blades. Plus it gets annoying that every other time you go to a range a strange asks if they can hit them and asking questions while you are trying to practice. With that said I want to hit the new Miura blades and the new Yonex blades, maybe I will just get iron covers this time

Yeah the Toe Sweep is what forced me to look at the other Nike wedges. The head shapes are better than the Vokeys IMO, the area just above the hosel is less rounded and straighter. These are the first Nike clubs that I have ever put into the bag.

Good to hear, I could never get comfortable with a couple different vokey lob wedges, like my 52/56 though. I picked up a scratch with heel/toe/trailing relief in the fall and love it, seems like the toe sweep will take that a step further.
