I've taken a few stabs out of marginal lies with marginal success unfortunitely, fairways and tees zero problems. I can hit this sucker with pretty much any shot shape and ball flight, very hot and consistant...BB
This very much fits the description of "Driving Iron" as opposed to "versatile 3i replacement". Right there with you, man....
I actually had a much better luck today with a few lies in the rough, you need to treat it like a iron and open the face. It works just need to make good smart swings...BB
Was your lie flat in that rough? I get what you're saying...

14 Pings. Blueprints are incredibly good. Fetch is the most underrated putter on the market. Don't @ me.

No it was the fluffy thick stuff, you really need to pick and choose if you plan to utilize this club outside the short hairs. I'm REALLY liking this club a lot and find it a perfect fit in my bag, it took a bit to feel confident with it but once you find a groove it's like a cannon. My 21* is fitting nicely in the 225yrd slot...BB

I just bought a 21* for a good deal on the classified here. Can't wait to try it I know from just holding it I really like the set up. I hit long irons well and love my 2 iron and never got along with hybrids at all.
I really want the 18* to see if it can kick my 2 iron out of the bag. If I like the 21* I will get the 18* and if it is longer then my 2 iron I could see keeping both the 18 1nd 21 and ditching my 3 wood as that is the most inconsistent club in my bag. I currently go d - 3w - 2i - 4-w and I find myself in between my 2i and 4i more often then I hit my 3 wood and add the inconsistency of the 3 wood I could just go D - 18dhy - 21 dhy - 4i-w????? Can't wait to give this a shot.

I am considering getting the 18* version of this club. DO you think that would replace a 3 wood? or do you think i should have a 3 wood instead
The 18* wont replace a 3 wood. The 18* is the replacement for a 2 iron. I have the 21* and 24* to replace my 3 and 4 irons. In terms of distance gains, you really won't get much. These clubs are more like irons than "hybrids"

I carry my 3 wood (13 degrees) at least 25 yards further than my 18 DHy off the ground.

I have the 21 and the 24 dhy... 2* upright RIP hybrid shafts. Awesome off of the tee.. doesnt get too wild like hybrids. I guess I am agreeing with alot of the comments here in that you have to pick when to hit this club. Bc of that im also carrying a 23* i20 hybrid for non tee shots slash more of a traditional rescue club. If I feel a need to carry a driver then I will look at the par 3s and decide to carry the 21 or 24 dhy and not both. Working so far.

Ive had the DHY in the bag for about a month now. I hated hybrids mainly because they kept going too far and I felt like I had to "steer" it off the tee. I was always afraid of that nasty hook. No matter what shaft I put into a tradtional hybrid, it just never worked for me. So I used my 3 iron that I bent down a degree to about a 2.5 iron and was happy with that as I could go after it and no worry about a nasty hook or jumping too far. The problem with that is any mis hit with a 2.5 iron and you lose tremendous distance and launch. I am a good player (won my state mid am last year, competed deep into match play in reg state am, played in college, etc). When this came out I couldnt wait to try it. What an awesome club. I went with the 18 degree and noticed that it plays like an iron, but has tremendous forgiveness and pops and extra 15 sometimes 20 yards than my 2 iron. Easy to hit off the deck and out of low/dry rough (wet thick rough doesnt work too well, but what does?). I want to make one thing clear here though: This is a PLAYERS club meant for guys who compress the ball. If you are a 5+ capper with a driver speed under 105, this club is not for you. You may get away with the 21 or 24 degree, but you will find the traditional hybrid is better for you. For players who swing at tour speeds and compress this ball, this is an EXCELLENT stick for that 225-240 yard tee shot you need (18 degree at sea level). Its also great off the deck from the fwy and first cut. Has an iron profile with hybrid forgiveness, iron workability, and ball speed of a 3w (just like original review writer stated). I knew the stock shaft would be too light so I requested a steel shaft (DG X 100). This was too heavy. Was fine off the tee, but lacked launch off the deck. I replaced it with a UST Mamiya Pro Force V2 100Hy-x (104g) tipped 3/4". PERFECT Match for me as this shaft has very low torque/dispersion. This did affect the swing weight from D4 down to D1. But this was perfectly fine with me. Adams provides a weight bolt to get it as close to D2 as possible. The steel shaft was just too heavy for their lightest weight bolt. So I placed a small piece of lead tape over the bolt provided and this did the trick.

if you are not comfortable with a traditional hybrid, are a player who compresses the ball with some velocity, def go get this club!!

After a month and a half with the 18* DHy in the bag, I've come to the conclusion that this is going to be a specialty club for me, to be used on courses where I know that I'm going to need to hit a lot of tee shots with less than driver. It's great at its main job of being a club I can control off the tee when I need to hit a tee shot short of trouble, but it's not versatile enough for the other situations where I'd like to hit a club like this, mainly on long approaches from decent lies from the rough. I've found that unless the ball is really sitting up in the grass, I can't hit it -- it just really seems to have a hard time getting the ball up out of any kind of mildly thick (or worse) grass. That's something I really want to be able to do with the club that occupies this slot in my bag. I think the higher lofted DHys were better at this kind of shot, but the 21* didn't go far enough to be a good fit for me. The other issue is that it's so low spin that it doesn't hold greens very well when I hit it from the fairway. This hasn't cost me any shots that I can think of, but I can foresee shots where this will be a problem.

I've gone back to a 5 wood for the first time in about a decade, and in my admittedly limited experience so far, it seems to be a lot better at getting it out of the rough, and it's a better option from the tee than a traditional hybrid ,but not as good from the tee as the DHy, which is why I'm planning to hang on to the DHy for certain courses.

3 Jack--agree completely--was really hopeful with the 24 and 27 degree lofts, but my Diablo forged 5 and 6 irons (25 and 28 degree) were just as long and WAY better out of the rough. Still have the 21 as a driving iron and for fairway lies, but diablos are staying put below that.

Got one coming from a friend. 21 with adila tour blue. Be interesting compared to x utility that I have now

I have the same two clubs and while I don't use either of them a ton, the DHy is finding it's way into my bag more often than not. I REALLY need to put a C-Taper into the XU in replace of the PXi as me and that shaft just don't along. That would be the best test for me personally.

Just got my 18* w/ stock white tie yesterday and cant wait to take it out. I've been struggling for years with the 225 distance. I have been carrying both a 5w/18* hybrid (which I am afraid to hit b/c either one can go so far left) and a 2 iron, which I can kill off the tee, but I cant hold a green consistently or hit well out of the rough. My hope is that this fills that distance so I can take both the 5w/18* and the 2 iron out of my bag and find something (either another dHy or a 3 iron) to fill the gap at 210 yds.

No joke. It was slightly downhill with a very firm and tight fairway. My guess is it carried about 225 and rolled the rest of the way. Definitely did not carry it to the green.

The 27* DHy had gotten my attention as an alternative to a similar lofted SGI iron, but this comment has me a bit confused now. I had started to think that relative to a comparable SGI iron the DHy 27* would be at least as versatile, a touch more forgiving, spin less and launch lower, and be a little longer, but it seems like that might not be the case based on Albert-Ross' experience. Could anyone else weigh in on their experience comparing the DHy 24* and 27* to a SGI iron?

The reason I ask is I am having trouble with the gap that I have between my 910H (23.25* setting) which goes ~210 and my X Forged 5 iron (27*) which seems to be good for ~180 (only 3 rounds so far). I am thinking of replacing the X Forged 5 iron with something that is more forgiving, 5-10 yards longer, and won’t balloon on me, which the 910H can do at times. I had thought about waiting for the new Callaway Apex irons to come out, but the DHy is available now and seemed like it could be a better option for what I am looking for. Thoughts?

I have the RBZ Stage 2 for my 3 iron replacement about a 210 yd. club. I have now taken the 4 AND 5 irons out and they were replaced by the Adams Super DHy 24* club with the White Tie X. It is about a 195 yd club well struck for me, and take some off and it is in the 185 area....perfect for the 4/5 ranges. I have 4 wedges in play on my short position course so, trying to stretch out the long end. My 6 & 7 irons are about 2* strong, with the 8,9, PW at 1* strong.

I got some replies from people earlier, but I am curious how your DHy's are holding up with no headcover. For those of you that ditched the headcover how do your clubs look?
