Don't know what they've done here but what was a simple forum to navigate and enjoy has turned into a complicated nightmare. Count me out. Thanks to all those whose posts I've enjoyed over the year. Brian

Man I hate to see this but can understand. It can be difficult for me too since I am not the most computer savvy person in the world. Sadly I am noticing fewer posts from old friends both here and in another section I frequent. I suggest as a friend to step back take a breath and maybe give it a chance to work. You will be surely missed

I miss not seeing who posted what and when on each new post. I do like the new way of posting pics though. Even send pm pics now. No one is more computer illiterate than I am but I’ll still try to muddle through learning the new format.

I agree. It is terribly unintuitive. A real chore and if not for my absolute obsession with this game, I too would leave. As it is, I get exhausted after trying to navigate around for a few minutes.

    Poor decision imho.....

Yeah, this site blows now. I hate coming here anymore. I'll be around less and less until they fix this POS forum software.

Its harder on my eyes to read the posts, the borders between posts do not pick up well. However I dont use social media, and this is the only site I post on, hate to see it go to waste since I personally have benefitted from a wealth of knowledge on classic equipment in this forum.

Take a break and come back in a couple of months. I don’t like much about the new version but there is still a lot of knowledge to be had here although it is now a pain to find it. I’m not giving up, but my time here has dropped significantly.

What made it simple to navigate? What device?

Menus and bookmarks are there. What would make it easier? Instructions?

I admit I don't really understand the complaints. It's not like they had a choice; the old software was barely functional. Keeping it would have resulted in catastrophic failure of the forums. Plugging new software in place isn't a modular exercise.

Fixes and tweaks are ongoing. It takes time.

^This is it in a nutshell. Change had to happen. I see the admin's adding new features about every day. Hang in there people!

Change management theory early vs late adapters. Most are on thr bigger bell shaped curve. I consider myself early adapter but the new layout does have its challenges

I'm with you. I don't understand all the complaints either.

Change happens every day of our lives, some very subtle, some very obvious.

OP, enjoy your "retirement". Hope you find something you like better to occupy the time you used to spend here.

It was jarring the first day, and I use exclusively on mobile...but the changes have quickly faded for me. I do wish there was better delineation between posts, and I wish the usernames were a bigger bolder font. But I don't mind it at all now overall.

Is there a minimalistic mobile skin option? No avatars necessary for that, I think. I've noticed a lot less traffic in the threads where I typically post.

Nobody likes change, but from what I've read it was either switch now or suffer long term (or worse).

For mobile, less is more IMHO. Thanks for at least trying to improve. Appreciate that.

It certainly appears that a number of UK people have stopped posting. My email which initially told me of the outage and maintenance is still there and hasn't been rescinded. No sign of friendly happy 'welcome back to our revamped site' from the owners, communication is pretty poor. Also now I've got 'badges' etc, I've no idea what they signify except that it now appears I'm a member of a boy scout group. Oh well, that's progress I suppose.

I mean, I'm not sure what people expect. The old forum could not continue to be used. Admin are certainly doing their best to keep everyone apprised of the situation and how it's developing. I've been on other forums where no one was told anything and it was terrible.

FWIW I like the new layout. Hopefully we don't any lose members because of what was a necessary upgrade. GolfWRX is the best golf site on the net, no contest.

It's slowly coming together but it's taking a lot longer than I expected from reading the first news of it.

The ease of picture posting is a massive improvement.
A clearer demarcation between posts would improve things.
Not sure that the "disagree" function will add anything to the forum.

How are you navigating on mobile without frustration? The nav bar that appears at the top when you press on your circle avatar hasn't worked correctly in a couple of weeks, at least. Makes it a real pain to navigate to messages inbox, etc.

I'd think that mobile would be a high priority, with the number of users (and overall internet traffic in general) that use mobile almost exclusively for online content these days.

Honestly, I don't use the bar at the top for much... It's annoying when I go to see notifications, it's like they appear behind the actual rest of the webpage, and I only see like a little window that I can see my notifications through, but they're mostly hidden.

I use the hyperlinks under the menu bar. So I'll touch the Home hyperlink and go the the main forum page, and click whichever forum I want from the main directory.

I realize it is a very small and unimportant thing, but what is with all these new crazy looking avatars, and why do we need them......Makes the site look cheap and cartoonish...…That being said, unless a lot changes, I don't see myself here near as much, but I keep my fingers crossed that the forum gets somewhere near as enjoyable as it once was.....I know they are doing everything they can to improve it.

there are only a couple things that frustrate me (and it could b/c I dont know how they work) but when I post in a thread I cant go into my control panel and see if there are new replies. Am I doing something wrong? Other than that, i'm good with the change.

You need to now tag it as a favorite for that functionality. You can control how much notification you get for new messages to threads you add as a favorite.

Not sure if the old functionality will ever return, but I imagine it's theoretically possible.

I miss the Emoji's of the old forum. You could make a statement with them alone. Now all that's here is tired smiley faces. I'm not a computer person and I ask this with but minimal knowledge. If the old forum format was changed because of needed space, couldn't just really old posts and pics be deleted to open room? Sometimes, change is not always for the better, just saying!

Who's gonna go through the posts to make sure pertinent information isn't being deleted? Lol Part of using forums is that you get all the old posts still around.
