Listen man. I understand swing weight. Im just telling YOU, as in Paddy the 20 hdc. that swingweight should be the furthest thing from your mind. For christ sake in your last post you mention you dont want SGI irons and in the same post you say your thinking about SGI. Your seriously ****** up
So your MF irons were over length? You hit them fat and complained that they were too heavy. Cutting 1/2 inch is equivalent to 3 SW points. So by not donating your irons and having the shop cut them down to a shorter length would have solved both your problems. You would have had a D1 SW, if you went to a heavier grip you could have gotten C9. Shorter also means less fat.
Why didn't you mention in the original thread your irons were of a 38" 6 iron or so? That would have completely changed some of the responses. The MF would still be a pretty crappy iron for what you paid for it, but it would have been salvagable so you didn't just pee away $400 by donating them. Maybe when people ask for information, provide it, instead of going on rambling tangents next time, okay? 🖖

Paddy...it’s time to face reality here. I was in your shoes 5 years ago. I got back into the game after a 10 year hiatus. I was struggling to break 100. I was lucky enough to play with patient scratch golfers. I joined their club and became a student of the game. I took lessons. I wasn’t happy with just “getting around the course” and it sounds like you aren’t either. Your swing is more than likely hot garbage. Please repeat that to yourself. I thought mine was decent as well until I saw it on recording. With lessons you will hit the ball worse before it gets better that’s half the battle.
Get 👏 yourself 👏 to 👏 a 👏 pro👏
The latest greatest from Taylormades marketing team is not going to get you any closer to the greens. Quit blaming your clubs for being a bad golfer and quit throwing tantrums, you nor I are good enough to get mad at this game.
@WristySwing - There is no silver bullet, you have to ask the same question sometimes more than once to get different answers to custom tailor a solution for yourself. Nobody can do it for you.....
I just figured this information out, funny how nobody mentioned length before when I asked. My SW comment was dismissed while poster after poster hit the easy button and either put me down or went straight to LESSONS.
Something so basic as SW, one of the first questions should of been length since it's a huge culprit in the distributrion of weight.
***Technically they werent over length according to their charts they were right sized...... Which is intesting because the Hawkeyes are about 1/4 shorter, I think this is a good data point to make note of.....
I think going forged is the right play, you can bend to customize the lie and as long as that head is paired up with the correct shaft and swing weight distribution this will put a nice set of irons in my hands.
I'll need to get heads that are on the light side.
Shafts with enough flex to match my swing speed and swing arc. I'll also need them sized correctly due to my arm being longer than normal for my size.
Grips, will need to be standard with v cord.
Ultimately I would like to have this set up to C9 or D0. This will give me the best chance.... Of course there may need to be a tweak or two but this is the play.
The lighter irons allow me to keep a correct swing path through out my back and foreward swing.
Thanks for working through this with me, SOME of you have been extremely helpful.....
Have fun with that but I suspect we will be seeing a repeat thread in a few weeks. You need to get out of your own head, and this is coming from a complete brain case who sells clubs after 1 bad round.
He barely breaks a 100. He’s stated it multiple times in multiple threads.
In before the Lock 🔒️, if it hasn't been said already! I wish they'd get that dancing lock back, it always looked so happy.
I'm longing for Oppenheimer, or whoever that guy who was milling his own putter from a block of solid steel with a drill press and sand paper was. His trolling was not nearly as obvious.
JonesScott, KingLeo, step aside, there's a new Sheriff in town!
Agreed. Time to lock this one up!
You are being rude....
See the comments below from the Marshall.....
While debating and discussion is fine, we will not tolerate rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks, or purposeless inflammatory post.
This thread has ended up like the last one. Plenty of people trying to help but he won’t listen to the overwhelming advice that he needs lessons from a decent pro not new clubs, so he just insults everyone as people get frustrated with him not listening.
Time to lock this up as we are just going round the houses yet again.
Excuse me guys, but if you are not interested just don't open the thread.
Yes the guy is either a troll or a very dumb enthusiastic amateur that reads articles here and there and posts nonesense, but it is more entertaining that the most of the posts. And frankly some of the replies are a bit too sour.
We should you dictate what needs to be still opened and what closed?
Just don't come here and the issue is solved.
Go on man, don't stop
I'm thinking about getting these shafts for the Hawkeyes. I only play 5 irons so it shouldn't cost that much with grips.
Which irons shafts do you prefer?
Go in Golf Works site and start your search. They have already good descriptions coming from the different manufacturers (KBS/TT/etc) and you can also look for reviews online.
Once you have narrowed the shafts you would like to play, go to GG or something similar and try them.
I'd give a serious reply but after reading his first thread that he requested be locked up and now reading this one, I don't have the faintest idea what the **** he wants.
My opinion is that he wants to get into the nerves of the people that take golf too seriously. Or he is the dumbest person ever existed on earth
I like the heads of the Hawkeyes, just want to update the shafts to modern tech and of course get new grips. These are starting to flake....
Thanks for the great idea. I'm going to bring up my big bertha 2019 4 iron with the Ozik and see if they can put that on my 5 iron and then see about getting some after markets for the last 4, 6 - 9
Quick question can they bend the hawkirons the lie angle is to heely. I want it more flush at the bottom. I think that's causing me hooks and clunkers.
Blue. Blue shafts are 10 yds longer and slice less.
It really isn't a matter of preference...it is a matter of what shaft works for a particular golfer. My preference may work for me, but not work for you. Better to get a proper fitting than go the trial and error route...less expensive too.
In the last 2 days Paddy has went from donating clubs to goodwill and thinking of buying a new iron set. Then he thought about just keeping the hawkeyes. Then he wanted new irons again, and finally hes going to re-shaft the hawkeyes. This is just in 2 days guys! He has no clue. I think its too insane for even a troll. This guy is legit and just whacked out
I still vote troll thread
You pick and choose the rules you wish enforced, yes ?
What about this one ?
"3.1. No “running the site”. Have balance and don’t over-post in one day. High maintenance users can be asked to slow and or not post. Don’t deluge the forums and overwhelm threads."
You won't believe this! I just got back from playing 18, don't ask what I shot.....
I was matched up with a scratch and two singles. I played horrible. By the 5th hole I started using my 4 iron with the Ozik shaft and was carrying over 210 off the tee and probably 200 off the turf. I was in the cart with the scrstch and I promise you he said this.......
"Hey man I usually don't say anything but you need to get a new driver. You have a lot of speed and that driver isn't doing you any justice". I proceeded to ask a few more questions and he was convinced I could be carrying 250+ and right now it's only about 235. He asked me what brand of driver I used and I told him..... He said knock offs are junk, get a real driver like an M series....
I asked about replacing the Hawkeyes and he said those Big Bertha 2019 would work perfect for you. (He saw me hitting the 4 iron several times).
So it's decided I'm going to look for a set of Big Bertha 2019 5 - 9. That's the play....
I am staying in my thread and if I wanted to I could go back to all the nasty threads you said about me and compile them into one thread. You've been nothing but a jerk. You tried bully me in the other thread and I called you out for using hacker irons. Several members laughed at you directly and you blew a gasket.
It's over it's a new day. You can't go back in the past and change anything.
Firstly, while as you already know, if YOU decide to close a thread YOU started, management will honor your wishes.
Other than that, NOBODY "owns" a thread,,,,,,,, as you see by the wording of the Rule I quoted. It says NOTHING about ownership but it IS pretty specific about a single poster domination a thread/conversation.
Secondly, I don't try to go back and change anything but it sure seems like you do.
Kindly point out where I "blew a gasket" or said ANY "nasty" things to, or about, you.
Good luck finding either. I'll await your reply,,,,,,,,, even while knowing there likely won't be one, or at least not an accurate one.
Can hardly wait to see what irons you'll be getting tomorrow.
Sticking with the 2019 Bertha's they are superior to anything else I hit.
No way someone can compete with Paddy, you might (or not) think about irons or shafts and he is already two moves forward, introducing the big dog in the discussion.
For information, you can find an M6 used on the bay for about 280 bucks.
