Has anyone switched from the G400 MAX to any version of the G410 and is happy?

So, another year....another dream of playing with a non-ping driver is thwarted. As i have posted many times, i always fall in love with new drivers (this year and last year it was Cobras) however for the past decade i have used Ping drivers in 100% of my competitive rounds.

So i'm back to the G400 Max.....which of course is boring

Anyone with similar numbers to me (110-112 ss, high spin player meaning i need help reducing, mid trajectory, play a straight ball, devilishly handsome) switch to a version of the 410 and been happy? Please tell me about it

Whatever i get it would probably be with the evenflow black 75 as i don't believe my black tie would have a comparable adapter

Ive had a 9* G400 Max for two years. It’s always been a bit spinny. I have 6 shafts for it. The latest is a HZRDUS Black 65 6.5 flex shaft. I hit it well but it’s all carry. Hardly any roll. Sometimes it will back up in the fairway.

ive hit theG410 and it was fine but didn’t think it was that much of an improvement over what I got to justify the cost.

I blindly ordered the 9* G410 LST and got a HZRDUS BLACK 75 6.5 flex shaft. It’s feels more solid and has less spin. I’m getting about 6 yards of roll which is better than none or the ball backing up.

i haven’t had a chance to move the weight around or adjust the loft but my first impression is that it has a chance to move the Max to the backup position.

The G410 LST is pretty good. I still need to dial in the shaft though.

I'm still using the 400 LST in competitive rounds, but nothing is as forgiving as the 400 Max though

I had the Max, then the Mav SZ, then Sim Max now back to the Ping 410 plus. I think the plus will be my gamer, so selling the Max and SZ on the bay.

I went from the 400 MAx, which I thought was the best driver I ever had. Sold it stupidly. Missed it. Went to replace it with another one, but the rep hot me to try the LST. BEST. DRIVER. EVER. until I tried the 410 LST. BEST. DRIVER. EVER.

Seriously. FOr me, it is every bit as forgiving as the MAX, but with additional adjustability, lower spin, and even more distance. It looks good and sounds good, too.

I've been trying to get a different driver in the bag for ages, but these LST heads are just too good. Best combination of distance and forgiveness ever made, IMO. The Tour 65 shaft is darn good, too.

I still love the standard G400! Best sound of any Ping driver to me. But at the speed of the OP, I’d put my chips on the G410 LST as the best bet to bench the MAX purely on numbers, though a dialed-in 410 Plus could be the goldilocks for competition. When I watched Ian on TXG just hammer the 410 Plus, I was impressed by what it delivered.

I was in the same boat. Put in the G410 LST and it’s just as forgiving as the Max to me and longer. Only been one round so far but only missed two fairways all day and no worries about the dreaded hook the Max would give me a drive per round.

I went from the G LST to the 410 plus. I tried the max and 400 LST but it didn’t knock out the the G. Play the 410 plus now. It launches higher for me (using the same shaft) which was an issue for me. I’ve always had to try like I’m swinging excessively up on it and the screwed with my set up. This has helped with that and I have gained carry.

I was close to putting the SIM into play consistently. I played with the 400 MAX again yesterday and I am not so sure. I have tried everything (except the 410 series) to unseat the 400 MAX. I have more confidence looking down and seeing my old friend the 400 max that I am not sure if I can remove it.

So in short, the only thing close so far is the SIM, but I plan on testing the 410 plus and the 410 LST in the future, just to make sure.

A question for you guys if anyone can answer.....i've used shafts like the D+, Black Tie, Atmos TS black the past 10 years.

I have never used the EvenFlow Black, and i have limited experience with the Ping Tour 75. Though i am aware that Ping's "stock" shafts are very high quality UST shafts

Has anyone with a love of low spin shafts compared the EvenFlow black and Ping Tour? Did you guys notice a big difference?

I played the G400 Max for 2 years. I sold it this year and bought a Cobra Speedzone. I never had more than 1 good week in a row with it. I bought a G410 Plus with a Orange Tensei. It felt great, but I had a 2 way miss it...I think it was more a shaft thing than anything else...I just couldn't get along with the feel.

I bought the Max back from the WRXer I sold it to and it's been magic.

I’ve tried a bunch but keep going back to the Max ..... currently using it with ventus blue 6x. That’s a light enough shaft that I can play it at 45” and it swingweights reasonably. Bad drives are my fault because the Max definitely isn’t the problem. It’s probably not the longest but I don’t hit it in the middle of the face enough for that to matter.

I’ve tried a lot of shafts with a lot of Ping heads and it’s amazing how the Ping Tour 65 stiff is always a top performer for me vs any shaft. I love the stability of it. Stouter than some players expect.

stock option G410 LST with Ping Tour 65/80 shaft is good. I personally find the high balance shafts work well........ I game a Aldila XTorsion Copper TX 70, but many on here seem to like the Tensei Orange Pro ........ I had the Tensei Orange 70x (non-pro/stock shaft) and hated it........ felt terrible/ dead although the numbers were good, and it was very straight........I tend to hook the ball at times.. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

G400Max to G410Plus. Played both with same shaft and G410 Plus spun less more me. Even though 400 Max was great fairway finder, I always felt like i was losing 10-15 yards. Now paired with Motore F X1 and just a touch better than the Shiro Tour even though that is a great shaft. Just seems to keep it in the fairway a little more often but I can really go after it. Have it neutral face and draw weight currently

I do not have your speed, but have played the Max, 410+, and 410 LST. The Max is great. It's either straight or a draw. The 10.5 410 LST in flat setting is less prone to missing left, but now I get some missed to the right. The 10.5 410 LST launches lower and is longer than the 9 degree Max. 410 LST sounds better. I haven't picked a gamer yet, but have ultimate confidence in both.

By the way I recommend the Evenflow White as a great, cheap LOW/LOW shaft. It has easily beat out some $300+ shafts and only cost me $65.
