I had the tour green in my G25 and I tried the rogue in my LS, but keep going back to the tour 65 x. What a great shaft.

10.5 with the tour 65 at 45.25 (I think that is standard) is putting me in places on course that I have never been before. 10-15 yards longer for me. I can't really tell a difference in the air, but I have been blown away more than once when I walk up to the ball. in reality all that means is that I am learning how to hit from behind new trees, but at least it keeps things fresh.
Yea, the extra length can be a Catch-22 :)

I went back to the Tour 80 shaft in mine and I playing it at 44.5 in the small "+" and it is just as long or slightly longer than the DI7 playing at 45"

I love the driver.

Anyone try the LS head with the (standard G30) blue T419 shaft?
Wondering the exact same thing. I have a standard g30 10.5 stock stiff that I love but wondering whether my measly 95 mph swing speed might get a little more out of a 10.5 LS.
Will depend not just on ball speed but launch angle and spin.

I have had the G30 LST 10.5 for a couple months now and love it, the forgiveness on off center hits is incredible and solid hits are high bombs. My only issue is the fade bias, it seems all my efforts to hit a draw result in a straight shot or fade if I get a bit lazy. Would a bit of lead tape help hit a draw and if so where would on the club would give the best results?
Had a swing analysis yesterday which I thought was going to be an analysis/ lesson but just ended up being an analysis. The good news (I think good news) is all the work I've putting in on swing path is working and my swing is now in to out, the bad news and what is causing my ball to fade is a slightly open club face at impact. Any suggestions or drills to help fix this? Here are my thoughts but was wondering what you members think I should start with.

Stronger grip
Close club slightly at address
Try to reduce face opening on takeaway
Cut shaft down a bit (currently stock tour 65 stiff 45.25")
Roll arms over earlier in downswing
Learn to live with a fade and stop aiming down the left side of the fairway waiting :)

Not sure if it will help but I will have numbers from Flight Scope to post once they are uploaded to their website.

Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

I love my G30 LS but I took out an old Tour Issue R540DF (400cc) with a Fuji 757 stiff and they were about the same in length off the tee with the DF being more accurate. These old school drivers are amazing and the feel of the DF is flat out on another level vs the modern stuff. About $70 shipped. Time for some more old school experimentation.

Make sure the left hand is facing your target get those forearms rolling down
Focused on forearms rolling over and swinging in to out and WOW the (3) drives I tracked with my GPS app today went 273-278 and 316 (downhill). The 316 is the longest drive I've ever hit and typical me duffed the second shot from 140 out on a par 5, still managed a par so not a complete disaster.

Am I the only one who finds the tour 80S shaft to be soft as a noodle? I had the 3 wood in my hands today and was shocked how flexible it was,

To each their own, but I was hitting this club high right when I first got it. 9* LS with tour 65 stiff shaft. Brought it to my club guy and got it cut down to just under 44.75", also put it in the "+" position. I am now able to hit baby draws and if I really pull back and hit it hard I get a nice power fade or dead straight ball that is definitely much more in control than any other club I have ever hit. This thing is really nice. Not sure if any of my settings make sense, but they really helped me out.

Just finished 3 day tourney. This driver never goes right for me as a lot indicate in hear. I use the LS version at 10.5 standard and either hit strait or a slight draw. Just wanted to let others know that I see no fade bias in my club. I've eliminated the right side and played the same ball each day for 54 holes. Only time searching for a tee shot was an errant tee ball w 3 wood once and Hybrid once. Great club for many out there. May not be right for all but is perfect for me. 66-74-70 over 3 days for -4

Funny thing played w guy on last day that played my other favorite driver I use to hit so accurately G20. Have finally found d its replacement. Longer than G20 but I'd never say any club was more forgiving than that club.

Anyway good luck and definitely try either the G30 or G30Ls. You may find a driver for the next 3-4 years.

Wonder how this would play with a Whiteboard D+ 70 in it. Have one in my 915 and love it.

Should hopefully be able to tell you in about a week. Have one with a TMAG adapter that I'm going to pull. Have another G30 adapter on the way.

Just put an Ion Ahina 80x which for me is very similar to the D+ and playing it at 44.5" after putting 4 grams of cotton balls in it and replacing the stock 8 gram weight with a 4 gram weight and man it feels and sounds wonderful now. Very strong ball flight even at 10.5* which is unheard of for me as I've played drivers at 8-9* my whole life. Great driver that will be in the bag for at LEAST 2 weeks! Lol seriously I don't think anything will beat this combo for a while.

This will be an indentical post to earlier in the thread so bare with me.

I have 2 of them right now as previously stated, that I rotate based on course.

10.5 at 45.5 inches w/125 MSI 70TX Rogue @ D5
10.5 at 45 inches w/Kuro Kage 70TX XTS @ D4

Both have 14.5 gram authentic Ping weights in sole

I flat bomb both, and prior to this season I've been a pretty awful driver of the golf ball.

First driver that when I miss, my hook is seriously toned down, my guess due to slightly open face and possible fade bias?

Either way, I never thought I'd game 2 driver heads exactly the same at the same time, but I've hit this driver so good ALL season, I don't see any reason why I'll change - ever.

Both heads I play in neutral position, for arguments sake.

I had a Diamana B70x I started at start of year with but launched too high and spun too much.

I just can't get enough of this head!
Can you comment on the differences between the setups? I have the rogue right now but also have a new kuro XT which I can't decide what to do with.
My experience. Rogue has more feel but seems to launch lower. XT feels stiffer throughout but launches a tad higher for me.

Love both, but I understand why Day, Rory, Scott are all playing the XT. It's my current gamer. Just killing it.

Is putting yarn, cotton, or plastic inside the Head Legal (USGA)?
As long as you don't adjust the amount of the weighting material you are using during the round you should be fine. I also agree with Jack below, very good point.

For those wanting to add yarn to adjust the swing weight and/or dampen the sound, this is what I did with my Anser and loved the result. If you don’t like it, you can easily pull it out. Now that I have the LS on the way, I’m not sure if I’ll go with a heavier weight or yarn, depends on the sound. I got mine at Wally World.
Figure out how many swing points you need to adjust, cut 10’ for each swing point and feed it in.

The way I've heard it explained is that if you put enough of whatever in so that it wouldn't be able to move around inside the head, it's legal, but just putting a little bit in where it would be able to shift around during the swing is not legal. Everything on a club is supposed to be fixed in place.

I did not. My guy checked the swing weight and it was virtually exactly the same as it was before, so I am not worried about it.

Wow I must be the only one who has the Purple Oban Kiyoshi 55 gram stiff as it's point and shoot for me. Distance is as long as anything else I've ever hit before but WOW! the accuracy is better than anything I've ever hit before.
