Ping G30 LS Tec Driver

Played my third round with this club today. Hit almost every fairway. Huge reason I shattered my personal best today. Was 73 about 6 years ago. Shot 68 today!

I have a 10.5 digitally lofted and I turned it up to 11. Perfect trajectory for me.

Had a G30 LS in the bag for most of this season with a Fubuki J 50 at 45.25" and recently tried an Aldila ATX Blue 75 at 44.5". Not the longest driver, I mean, I've reached longer spots on the course with my Bio Cell Pro, but directional misses are definitely reduced with the G30. My only gripe is the feel of sound of the Ping isn't as "nice" as the Cobra, but I can live with that for now.

I've had my G30 LS Tec for about 15 rounds, I replaced the stock shaft with a AD DI7s from my old Nike Driver. After several rounds and range sessions, I could not hit it, shaft felt too sitff and my misses were slicing. With my old Nike, the trajectory was a low with a baby cut, or straight ball, the AD DI7s felt more or a reg that stiff. I've tried the stock reg, but it feels too soft, my SS is 95-100.

I have the Recoils in my irons, and love the feel, I contacted UST look for a similar driver shaft. They told me to try the Elements Chrome, anyone else tried it in the G30?

I tried the chrome. I was using recoil prototypes and loved them. Thought the chrome would be magic in the g25 but I hated that shaft. Just my opinion.

[/quote]description of your ball flight has me greatly concerned about using the LS Tec, this isn't also the 9* head? not sure about 70 gram profile for you. FWIW a low baby cut at less than 150 ballspeed ain't exactly ideal.

It's the 10.5 head set to 11.5. Spin rate on the nike was crazy high, low ball flight and carry was around 230, more important to me is it was consistent and kept the ball in play. I wanted to get the spin rate down and was looking at the SLDR, a buddy told me to test the G30. Gotthe spin rate down to 2500-3000rpm and it was about 10-15 yards longer than my Nike. My home course is minimum 1-2 wind, so I don't mind the low trajectory, however when I play courses that are hilly and require blind tee shots, I have some issues with the trajectory.

I had the chrome as well...This after hearing it plays close to the Tour shaft.

To me, it's really different & much firmer

I had better results with the Attas T2 over the Chrome.

I play Recoil 110 in my irons as well.

I've had a great 2 weeks or so of driving (~8 rounds), still playing 10.5 in the large + setting. I play a lot with guys in the 115 range swing speed and I'm 105-108, it's crazy how often I'm next to or not far behind these guys. Easily 75% of the single digits at my club are playing g30, the rest are in 915's. I helped an older member do some on course testing and my LST was average 20 yards longer than the r9 he was fit for years ago.

Sounds like something's off - SS ? Spin rate ? Smash factor ?

For several years now, the general consensus of SS vs. carry, on SS hits, has run somewhere in the 1:2.5 ratio. I find that accurate in my own case as well.

I've lost a few MPH and now generate about 95MPH and carry it a max of approximately 235 or so at sea level. Spot on that 1:2.5 even though I think if I spun it a bit less it'd travel a bit more.

And given the right conditions it's certainly possible,,,,,,,,

280 total, even maybe as much as 300, [u]is[/u] possible,,,,,,,,,,, (heavy) downwind and with rock hard fairways,,,,,,,,

But to use as an "example" ? Well, that's just silly.

according to trackman distance optimizer chart ,(not carry optimizer cart),with a 100 mile hr swing speed at a +5 angle of attack and 12.4 launch angle and 1887 side spin you can carry a ball 239 yards and total distance to 293 yards.
As far as I know theses are the facts on what's possible.

Must agree. I don't know why. I have the Tour 65S, and the Chrome 6F5T... both just different. I'd have a hard time explaining... I have the Tour 65X in, and I'm going to give that a whirl. The Tour65S seems to just have this late, last second kick that pops the ball up... not every time, but when you get it just right it high-arcs. The Chrome seems to be slightly lower, but more consistent in elevation... like the kickpoint isn't a "point", but rather spread out a little.

I hope that makes a little sense...

Ive played 3 rounds with my LS... Its MAYBE 5 yards behind where my SLDR was on a pure hit but thats due to me not hitting up on it as much.

I never have been in the center of the fairway so much

Never driven the ball like this in 15 years of golf. Which (again), is why I have two of the same driver built lol
