If you were surprised then justs shows you are believing everyone needs more loft and it shows the effectiveness of marketing.

Uh, no. I'm sure Sean is not just surprised because of some assumed effect of "Loft Up" kool-aid. He's shown himself to be a very discerning and reasonable fellow, actually. For someone swinging a DI-5R1 to get along well with such a low lofted driver is a bit of an anomaly, to say the least.

Driver appears to be set on a Draw setting which would add effective loft, and I seriously doubt that the head would come out to anything like 8.5 if measured digitally.

I'm pretty sure she does, as she is a huge All Blacks fan. In the video when she announced she was turning pro, she played golf with All Blacks star Israel Dagg.

I think a lot of LPGA player are hitting up on their driver so you often see lower lofted drivers on LPGA tour. I think Trackman has shown on average LPGA players hit up on their drives 2 or more degrees than the average PGA Tour player.

i'm kinda surprised she goes from a PW direct to a 54* SW so i'm guessing her PW is in the 47*/48* range..

..these would indicate she uses weaker lofts in her irons..

PS: her set-up is also kinda similar to mine except my hybrids go up to a 28*6H and a 32*7H!!..he he he!!

...and i have a 19*3H on order as an alternate to my 21*7W.

All depends on your AoA.

Of course hardly any modern drivers will digitally loft close to stamped loft so i see no reason why this one would either.

My point was simply that unless you know someones swing/tendencies then you can never assume what loft they need simply by their swingspeed.

i can give you the callaway line if you want it.

"the TC serial simply allows us to track the inventory that is distributed to the various professional tours. these are still the same heads available to the public simply tweaked and possibly handpicked for loft/lie/face angle for the specific player requests/requirements"

of course i have yet to see some of the other "tour" versions of the alpha, big bertha and bb fairways at my local chain store

i have noticed that over the last 5 years tour products have come much closer to aligning with retail products.

and for me the x2 hots with stock shafts are as good as anything out there retail wise.

i still think the aldila stock shafts are better than the fubuki for me.

The driver says 8.5, but like mentioned, I'd bet it's quite a bit higher. It could be almost 9.5...that's not abnormal.

Plus, she hits up. Plus it's closed which adds more loft. So now you take a 9.5, or 9.2ish or whatever it measures at, and you add more loft for closing, say it's now a 10.2 or so, and then you hit up...and voila.

Saw her driver shaft today, it looked like a pink Tour AD DI. Only saw it once, caught my attention.

 

Hard to tell here, but It wasn't orange/white.
