So I have played these irons for over a year and I love them except the "V" sole. Where can a guy like me get the "tour issue" version with the regular sole?

 

What's your hate for the V-sole?

I am a sweeper and I miss too thin too often. I was thinking about grinding them but not sure how much to take off and hopw it will effect swingweight

Wardo- not trying to be wise, but have you tried contacting Srixon about the noon V sole version? I like my v soles, but curious about what you find out. Good luck.

How does the v-sole cause you issues as a sweeper?

The front edge has a ton of bounce and it literally skips on top of the turf. Sometimes it will skip into ball for me...

That's interesting, as I'm a sweeper too. You are waaaaaaay better than me and I've not had that issue. I really like the turf interaction I get (such as it is for a sweeper) and haven't noticed it being any bouncier than the X-Forgeds I played previously or the Cobras I'm playing around with now.

 

Regardless of the solution (grind or different irons) hope you find something you like that really works for ya :)

Matsuyama 's 945's have normal straight soles. Not sure why but I don't get along with the v sole either. Probably just in my head. Lol

Sounds more like an "AOA" issue than a sole issue.

Yes the 945 do come stock with the v sole. And I haven't seen any 545 or 745 with anything but the v sole.

There isn't 1 tour pro that uses a 745 with a non V sole...your probably seeing someone with 945's.

I'm a steep guy..,I compress the ball very well and with blades I tend to take a pretty good divot but with the 745's that V sole just glides through the turf and doesn't overly dig.??

Got a call this evening and my irons have arrived at my local golf store.Took around 3 weeks to get here.Ordered mine with the KBS tour stiff shaft.I be spending some time tomorrow with the CG2 trying to dail in my carry distances.Still have one wedge to add,but want to check my carry distances first with PW.

I just picked up my set a few weeks ago with KBS Tour S as well. Went with the U45 20 degree to replace the three iron. Also live in Canada (just north of Toronto), so hits have been limited to my weekly practice session with Shawn Clement and the local golf dome. Not sure if its the club or the teaching of Shawn - but the ball seems to fly off the face better than my previous MP 54.

 

Planning to go with a 52/58 wedge set up - but toying with ordering Z745 GW/AW from Japan

Going to check it out today,I have the 46 pw bent to 45,my mentor thinks I should go back to 46 and play a 60,maybe bend my 52 to a 51.I an thinking of adding a 48,just don't want to buy 3 new wedges and I love my 56 m grind.He plays a 50 54 58.

It just depends on your yardage gapping. I play 50/54/60 and get 15 yards between each. The 60 for me is the perfect 100 yard club.

I hit my wedges High and my driver SS is around 100.My 52 vokey gw,is my 100 yard club.Requested my 46 PW be bent to 45 degrees at the factory,and it arrived at 43.5 degrees.3 other irons were off half degree from their specs.Had them adjusted but now have a few nicks on the bottom of my new clubs.its like getting a scratch on your new car.

Besides that,they are beautiful irons.Confined to simulators for at least another month.This are great irons to look at and hit.

I looked into the Srixon GW but never liked any gw aw that belonged to a set. I play 51,55,59 rotex 2.0 I base it off my LW down. I like the release I get from a stronger loft lw and if I need spin I can still achieve that.

Having worked at a golf shop for the past couple of months, I have hit everything from Titleist to Mizuno. Having been after a new set of sticks for a little while myself, I decided to pull the trigger on the 745s. Considering I'd spent pretty much every second of my spare time in the store hitting myriads of different clubs (everything bar PXG), I don't think I'll ever regret getting them. KBS Tour-V Stiff makes them feel oh-so smooth.

after using the z745s for 3 rounds or so w/ s300 shafts, i decided to sell those and reorder w/ px 6.0...i couldn't be happier. I hope to wear the grooves out on this clubs for seasons to come.

Anyone know if the modus 105 is offered with no additional upcharge?

 

I went through a fitting last summer- obviously walked out with the z745 irons but I was stuck in between shafts. I loved the modus but this was before the 105 came out and unfortunately the 120 were a touch too heavy. Actually I asked if there was a lighter modus but no dice at the time. Walked out with the ns pro 980. They are OK but a little too soft. FYI this was my first venture into lighter shafts.
