To me, low gross is between PQ from the Tippies, Eagle or City from the blues, or Kent from the whites. Long story short, my money is on Kent putting up a 74 from the whites.

Net is so much more difficult to predict. Sully getting 16 from the whites.....give it to me!

I've got city and newcomer bayrat duking it out for low gross in round 1. PQ is playing from the tippies, so I don't think he takes down either of those two playing from the blues.

I'm taking JJ for low net in round 1.

Kenty for low gross in round 1. I'm going to take a flyer on Bangass as low net for round 1- seems like he's practicing/playing a lot lately.

Also not overlooking DaGoose after his showing at the VE. Getting 16 from the whites.

Yup, putting up a gross 38 on the front nine at VE, I'm sure he's gonna do what it takes to close this time on the back 9.

Driver: Who knows at this point smh

All this time we accused Fabb of playing the long con.

It was actually Domes. I mean he went full on with surgery and everything.

Touche Domes. Touche.

6 Birdies!

(OCGolfRick calls orthopedic surgeon for knee surgery. My knee feels fine, but if I can shoot even par, I'm willing to have some work done to it.)

I found a unicorn, and rode that f*cker to whiskey creek in time to play the second round today.

Paired up with city, goose, and juicer. Very enjoyable group.

I had a lot of putts, and am fairly confident I re-aggravated what made me take the last 7 weeks off on the 12th hole. I certainly felt like I did, and limped in the remainder of the round like a dog once it happened. Oh well. Was striking it pretty crisp prior to that though.

Lots of good golf from city, and goose was steady eddie. Juicer tossed in some good stuff as well. We cruised around the course, and it was a blast. 10/10 bang factor for that grouping.

Great to meet bayrat. Very nice guy, and not scared away from meeting so many of us at once.

Super impressed with domes firing a 72, and lots of other good rounds out there in general. Awesome stuff.

Had a blast out there today, really appreciate the invite. Played the best I have played in while. Domes round one was a seriously impressive display of golf. I don't care what tees youre playing 6 birdies is golfing your ball. I came in with 76 76 gross and was extremely happy about it. In knew better than to ask city why he had a unircorn on his driver but it is def working for him. He hit some bombs. Hope to get out with some of you again in the near future.

The best thing I saw all day was Freezy's sexy cart stop pulling up to the 18th green. It was arousing.

Just a Boss making Boss moves.

The quote of the day in our group came from Jimbo as Phil addressed his putt: "You get a stroke here." Hilarious. We repeated that all day, typically when someone was over a crucial shot.

Quote/exchange of the morning for me:

City: I got a tip from Tom Kite on the Golf Channel and I love hitting this driver now...

Bayrat: So Tom Kite told you to put a unicorn sticker on your driver?

Thanks to Eagle for setting everything up yesterday. Started off with some brekkie at the Waffle House with Bangass, Domes and City. Had a great round with Kenty, Tex and DaGoose. Goose, of course, playing pretty well over the day (and with Tex acting like Mickey coaching Rocky over the second round). Had some good holes but a case of the lefts off some of the boxes left (no pun intended) me with some tough scrambling on some holes. Unfortunately, they seemed to be the same holes on both rounds. Did pick up a couple of birdies along the way but really just had a good time with the Bois. Think I mustered up a net 76. Had to jet quickly after the round to take care of something that came up at home (luckily after we finished) but was a pretty good day to be away from work and enjoy the time with some good folks.

Got DVCC on Saturday and after that probably taking a few days off to give my back and shoulder some much needed rest.

TRU recaps rolling in today...

giphy.gif

Props to eagle for not being so excited about my last place net finish to gratuitously post it along with the other abbreviated results.

Props to eagle for putting on an A+ event as well.

If baddomes wouldn't have played, we'd have the same guys winning low gross and low net for the first two events of the season.

Recap later, but first it should be noted that there was a tie for T2 gross. Eagle and myself carded 79s R1. Since I was from the blacks, well...

Great day. First time out with jBang. He tried getting my head early.

YUUUGE round for Typhoon. Love it. Can't wait to hear/read about some of the deets.

Tex used scotch tape for the trophy, but I will piece of back together before handing to Domes next week. I wonder if Norbeck would allow him to display the TRU trophy in the trophy case. Pretty, pretty, pretty prestigious.
