I've worked with Kari on several putters over the past year or so, as referenced by looking back through the putter threads here, but this has to be my favorite.

 

-Custom Sensor widebody, 370g, 33", 3* loft. -Black leather grip.

-Unplated carbon steel, oil can finish (will rust)

- Extruded "Lajosi" logo in cavity

-Stainless steel Lajosi shaft band

-Personalized on the right rear bumper and toe of face

-"Mega deep" face milling for super soft feel

 

Love this one already. The feel of the ball off the face, the smooth roll, and the way the heavy weight helps releasing of head down the line...I WILL have an identical backup to this one made.

Well, that is my college's logo, so I tried to pick a finish that would match the gold of it.

Beautiful putter. Any feedback on the mega deep vs Kari's deep milling. Looking at options for a build. Want a soft feel, but certainly not "too soft". Sort of a muted thud sound.

had a chance to roll a few on the carpet. All I gotta say is wow, I'm surprised at the feel of this putter. Surprisingly soft feel, softer than other 303SS putters I've had in the past(Byron 007, Scotty studio stainless) and almost the softness of carbon steel(nearly as soft as my betti bc6). Still has just a touch of solid firmness in a good way to remind you it's SS. Guess the deep mill works as advertised.

 

Even prettier in person than the pics show. Love the weight and balance. I'm extremely impressed and couldn't have asked for better execution. The WB head almost has the feel of a squareback-style mallet but less cumbersome.

 

Hopefully I'll be able to save up some sheckles for another future project from Mr. Lajosi. Maybe a softened sensor WB or softened plumbers neck LP1...decisions, decisions.

I might not be the best person to ask that, as the softer the better for me. But it mist definitely is his softest face. For whatever reason, I'm a much much better putter the softer the face. I can make a much more aggressive stroke at the ball. And for me, this is the truest rolling face I've tried of Kari's.

I was going through the custom process with Kari a while back and never pulled the trigger. A few weeks ago, I saw a picture of one of his Damascus putters on facebook and couldn't stop thinking about picking one up so I shot him a message and he had just finished a few DD201's in damascus and had one for sale. A few modifications later, here is my new putter which is on its way and should arrive any day!

I have plenty of putters I think look great. Nothing beats a well done Damascus, but if it doesn't feel right it's just another putter for the wall. I'd want to game it so I can see all the colors in the light. Main reason I haven't pulled a trigger on one yet. I have a feeling it's going to be on the hard feeling side.

Figured I’d put this up in this thread. This is about my 6^th putter of Kari’s, and this time I really wanted to go all out.

 

It’s a solid tellurium copper body DD201 WB, with full face stainless Damascus insert. The Lajosi Lizard in the cavity was wire cut so as to show the beautiful insert from the rear view as well; it looks incredible. The copper is going to patina over time, which I can’t wait for.

 

Almost no face milling to keep the Damascus looking clean. I may have Kari add a sweet-spot mill later on if I think the feel is a little firm, but my first thoughts are the sound slot / forged face combo is pretty amazing. Copper being denser than steel means the cavity is a little deeper as well, so there is a little CG technology in this bespoke roller.

 

Headweight is 378 grams, but it’s certainly not the heaviest. Going to game it for the next few months, but I’m sure it will be incredible mantle-decoration if I still prefer my carbon DD201 WB.

What i like most about my custom kari is before having it, when i had a few bad rounds of putting i would go buy an other putter trying to find a cure. Now when i have a bad round, i go back to the pratice green and work hard. Dont want to let this one go!!

Wow. The last few putters in this thread have been absolutely savagery, pure filth. Kari is at the top of his game right now, the hand forged Damascus is unlike anything in the biz, and so damn pretty. Think Don Cameron ever forged his own Dama from soup to nuts?

 

Not to mention how cheap his prices are for the quality. I just started down the road of the first custom in my quiver, and I'm so amped to have it in Kari's hands. Another piece of TCB glory coming my way soon. Can't wait to update you all with pics !

It's somewhere in between carbon and SS but I think it leans slightly towards feeling like carbon. After playing 36 holes with it today I'm already so happy with the decision. Looks absolutely incredible on the course and it rolls just so beautifully. Had my best putting rounds of the year and it was only the first time out with it - Lets hope its not just the honeymoon period!!

One big surprise I found was how much better I was lining up my putts with the sight lizard over a flange line!

That damascus is stunning...Best of luck with it. Kari just keeps cranking out great looking sticks. My DD201 is the only carbon Newport style in my stable of putters, and I always go back to it. Just a great looking and feeling stick.

Here's a Damascus DD201 in an oil can finish that I've just bought. 34" at 355g with 1/4 toe hang.
