Went from 430 SLDR to Mizzy JPX 850. Same low spin and a bit more forgiving. Very underrated club.

SLDR>JetSpeed>Rapture>JetSpeed>R15>JetSpeed>Great Big Bertha...The GBB is AWESOME. I think I might have lost a couple yards but I hit the FW a lot more often now.

WOW, I paged back reading from page one and came across "the fix" by bobcat last week.

I had gone back to the SLDR as it was the only club that really worked for me .

To offset the high fade I had the weight set on draw and 12 degree to close face . Of course every now and then a snap hook.

I tried "the fix" this week . OMG ,long straight or small draw with a great flight at 11 degrees. Hit fairway 13/14. Miss was on first cut ( fade)

Thanks heaps bobcat .

I still use it, I do, however, bring my RFX out once in a while...I also have a Ping G driver that is by far the most forgiving of the three, I need to get a better shaft for it though...so:

SLDR: current gamer

RFX: once in a while it goes in the bag

Ping G: once I get the right shaft it will probably be the gamer

DRIVER: Callaway AI Smoke TD 10.5*, Ventus TR Blue 6TX at 45"
3 WOOD: Callaway Paradym HL 16.5*, Diamana Flower Band White, D+ 82X Flex, tipped 1" at 42"
7 WOOD: Callaway Paradym 21*, Tensei AV white 75g S Flex, tipped 1" at 41"

IRONS: Callaway Apex MB 7-10, CB 4-6 -- DG TI S400

WEDGES: Callaway JAWS Raw 50, 54, 58 -- DG TI S400
PUTTER: SC Phantom 5, Stability Shaft, 33.25", Garsen Quad Tour grip (Toulon Chicago as back up)
BALL: Callaway CT X (current gamer), Srixon Diamond, -ProV1X and ProV1

No biggie, but just so the membership understands, your numbers in the post above are a bit off asw7576....

The 20-gram sliding weight is comprised of (3) parts, a silver weight, a blue slider cover and a screw that holds these components together.

The stock TM silver weight weighs 16-grams. The other (4) grams are due to the blue weight cover and the screw that holds the blue weight cover and the silver weight together. You must re-use those 4-grams with the new 10-gram weight to install that new silver weight.

This means your new sliding weight total actually weighs 14-grams. The 6-gram reduction you achieved is equal to 3-swingweight points.

You now have a SLDR driver that is lighter by (3) swingweights which may make it just a bit easier to swing.

Stuck with the SLDR 460 for over two years (it was a present from my wife), but now carry the SLDR-C 12* in my 14-club riding-bag and the Callaway Mini 1.5 14* in my 8-club carry set. (I have a pretty slow swing-speed, @88mph.) The SLDR-C isn't as long as the original SLDR 460, but compared to the original, it's pretty much point-and-shoot (rather than point-and-hope). The fact that looking down at the SLDR-C reminded me of the TM 580xd at address made the transition easier. BTW, the fact that I got the "C" from Taylormade Pre-owned BRAND NEW (not used, or returned stock) for $59 made the transition easier, too.

If you apply 'the SLDR Fix' your original SLDR Driver will behave...you can finally say goodbye to the 'low hook miss'...

Ok, update, the SLDR and the TA Protos are now in the basement, finally I received a box this past weekend, in it I received:

Ping G LS Tech and iBlades (4-P)

Took them to the range and played 9 holes with them, results were just amazing, the driver is long and forgiving and the irons are simply solid...I am hoping to get the Glide 2.0 wedges and the hybrid (maybe the crossover)...

So most people have moved on from the Sldr, How many of you have still held onto your Sldr, just in case. I moved to the M1 for a little more forgiveness, I kept the same shaft. There was a long adjustment period to the M1, but I keep my Sldr head close by.

I've done the same thing...love my M1 but kept the SLDR head. I also had the 3w and Hybrid SLDR. Have since moved on from those as well. Great clubs and definitely could have played the SLDR stuff for a couple more years but found some things I like more

SLDR was replaced by M2 2016 but I kept the Fuji TP shaft from the SLDR and put it in the M2.

I assume that you are talking about the Tour Spec 6.3 which I think was the stock TP shaft in the SLDR line. I love that shaft. So much so that I picked up several uncut which I have used in other drivers. I even have some backups!

Funny thing is that I brought my backup bag today and to my amazement, my JDM SLDR hit the 7 fairways it was hit into, and passing my friend's drives. So for tomorrow, the M2 will stay home again.

The SLDR was a game changer for me, but like others have since switched out. Tried the 2016 M1 as well with too many shaft combo's to count and never loved it. Alas, the 2017 M1 came my way and I have really enjoyed it when paired with the oban tour limited. I will never get rid of my SLDR and love to game it every now and again to bring back some of those feels that it brought on!

Late update: I moved from the SLDR 460 to the SLDR-C and, as Bobcat said, it was easier to hit. Since then, I've moved back to the 460 after having it re-fitted to my swing. (The original fitting at Van's Golf Shop was a joke.) Without performing Bobcat's surgery on it, the 460 is once again my gamer--longer than the C, and about as accurate. (12* set +1*, sole weight set 3 clicks over towards "Draw," M-flex shaft--I'm a slow swinger) I keep the SLDR-C handy in the closet, for whenever my swing goes south.

Sometimes I wonder what it would be like if I still had my SLDR 430, and threw a Tensei Pro Orange in it, and then bust one on the screws.....then I remember what happens when I didn't bust it on the screws....
