I'm currently comparing the SLDR and the M2, too early to tell which will stay in the bag. I prefer the look, feel and sound of the M2, just not sure if it is as long as the SLDR.

Finally went from sldr 430 to M1 430, was worried the M1 would have the same drawbacks as the sldr but found it to be miles more forgiving, even in 430 flavour. Haven't hit anything close to some of the hooks I occasionally got with the sldr, and even picked up a couple miles more ball speed with the M1. Definitely a win-win

Just switched to a Fly-z from the SLDR. My experience with the SLDR was out of 10 shots, 9 would go anywhere from 200-220 yards, maybe 3 to 4 of those 9 would hook or slice out of play. 1 of the 10 would go straight as an arrow about 250-260. With the Fly-z 9 of 10 shots go straight as an arrow or slight draw, about 230-235, and 1 goes pushed about 205, but still playable.

I lost max distance, but am extremely more consistent. I also like the sound and feel of the Fly z better. Selling the SLDR on Ebay.

G30 10.5* has officially booted the SLDR for me. I forgot how much fun it can be to drive the ball when I'm not worried about wild snap hooks careening OB.

G30 doesn't go as far but has a one way miss instead of two and is so much easier to hit fairways with.

Still game my sldr, I really don't see a need to switch, numbers with newer clubs really aren't better. Last tournament I played, hit 12 of 14 fairways. Of the current crop of drivers out the only one I could see switching to would be the m1, but why pay for a club that only differs by 1 mph on avg. with trackman, with identical setups.

Totally agree. M1 delivers a little bit more ball speed vs my trusty SDLR 430 but definitely not worth the $$ (yet).

Recently went to a G30LS. Not as long good-for-good, but I think distance is better on slight miss hits. Actually, high-toe seems to be the best miss. Low on face = spin city and low-heel = OB. So, I'm still warming up to the LS but... she better hurry cuz M1 price drops should be coming soon!

I only had the SLDR for two weeks before moving to R15 which I played for about 18 months. I adore the R15 because the good hits are just so good, but I've just bought an M2 because the not so good hits are vastly improved. I cannot think of a single reason not to play the M2 driver, unless you are an outrageously skilled ball striker who needs the CG forward to get 500-1000 RPMs less spin (at best) or someone who benefits from having the weight in the heel or toe.

M2 is every bit as long as the best you'll get from SLDR, but the misses are far less punishing.

I've had the SLDR since day 1 and it worked well for me so I wasn't looking to replace it. I was given an R15 head and a M1 head, the R15 stunk but the M1 ended up being the guy to kick out the SLDR.

I switched to the new SLDR Driver announced in 2015...the SLDR C-Series Driver.

- I formerly played a (12*) SLDR 430 Tour issued Driver with Fuji Motore Speeer 7.3 Tourspec TP Stiff shaft.

- My new, FORGIVING (9.5*) SLDR-C Driver is shafted with a MIYAZAKI KUSALA BLACK 61s shaft.

Review: After playing it for 9-months, the re-designed (460cc) SLDR-C clubhead combined with the Kusala Black 61s shaft has turned out to be the best driver/shaft combo ever for me! Distance is on par with the SLDR 430, but with greater consistency. The design improvements TM has made to bring forgiveness and accuracy to the SLDR Family are truly amazing, yet still the SLDR-C is somewhat of a "sleeper". Perhaps TM should have named it "SLDR-2".

I wonder why the need to repost 4 months after.

No need to struggle with inconsistency when there is a more forgiving SLDR available...

Apparently the "new" more forgiving design places the sweet spot slightly above the face on the crown.

A more forgiving SLDR is a beautiful thing indeed, and it's unlikely you'll miss the adjustable features when moving to the 2015 SLDR-C Driver. (Been there, done that, coming from a 2013 SLDR 430 Tour Driver). Perhaps one key reason why the SLDR-C Driver is so much more forgiving is because it doesn't have all that extra adjustable mechanism weight added to 'undesirable' clubhead locations, (i.e. the hosel area). The SLDR's adjustable hosel actually weighs in excess of 7-grams, (That's equal to 3.5 swingweights).

The lack of any slider mechanism, (and its related weight location), is likely the reason why the M2 is considered more forgiving than the M1. Same is true for the SLDR-C vs the oriiginal SLDR. In both cases, the weight has been moved back a bit to a more optimal location, and the result of that weight shift is a better 'balance' of distance and forgiveness! Furthermore, because the extra weight is now 'internal' rather than 'external', sound and feel are much improved as well. The TM 'speed pocket' which has replaced the slider mechanism on both the SLDR-C and the M2 Driver works very well indeed, and with the correct shaft for your particular swing, both are excellent drivers. Simply pick the one most appealing for both your eye AND your wallet!..

So why is the SLDR C even called a SLDR if it doesn't have the SLDR. Seems like a made for Dicks and Academy version.

That seems like a very 'naive' post when you consider that none of the original SLDR Fairways, SLDR Rescue Hybrids, or SLDR 'S' Mini Drivers have a Slider. Nobody using those clubs seems to miss it or complain those clubs are not actually SLDR's, so your comment simply doesn't hold water!... :taunt:

Much of the same rationale can be applied to the M2 Driver which people seem to prefer over the 'double slider' M1 Driver now. With fewer adjustable features, it costs less while delivering the same distance and more forgiveness! Wow, what a great concept! Doesn't that also sound a bit familiar?.. :D

Furthermore, the M2's lost slider mechanism weight is now 'inside' the clubehead and more towards the rear for better sound and feel, just as with the SLDR-C Driver)... :good:

Best not to get 'hung up' over the SLDR 'name' when what really matters is the performance of the SLDR-C Driver!...

It's a fact that many of us don't need, or even want, adjustable features. I personally consider those features vastly overrated. For many people, such features as a slider mechanism actually do more harm than good by misplacing a lot of clubhead weight. I don't need, or want, the adjustable hosel mechanism either! (Same reason)... :swoon:

Isn't this thread about moving on from the SLDR driver - yet all I keep reading about is the SLDR version of the Jetspeed.

Please let's stop polluting this thread with the SLDR C-rap and talk about drivers that have replaced the SLDR in your bag. ( PS My SLDR is still in my bag)
