Just traded my SLDR and a pair of fairways for this bad boy, cut her down to 44.5" and shes been a bomber so far. I'm really liking the initial results, think I'm gonna add a touch of weight back to the head though after cutting her down. :)

Great feel in that club. I have one but hit it too high with too much spin, 565 shaft is pretty soft. Might try the DBD version, 9° with a heavier shaft.
The speeder seems to fit me pretty well so far, getting 12*-15* launch and around 2400 to 2800 spin. I may tip it just a touch but other than that I think i found a good fit here :)

I was using a 910d2 with RIP 70x.

SLDR to R15. Gained about 15 yards and much more accurate. Although I will say it's 90% the shaft.

Amp Cell to Bio Cell to SLDR to G30 SF Tec back to SLDR to ?????

SLDR is by far the straightest, G30 is slightly longer (10-15 yrds)

Miss hits on SLDR go nowhere. Mishits on G30 = no loss in distance but spin is off the planet.

Suggestions? I want a SLDR/G30 combo.

Thanks

Really surprised there was a loss of distance. Is it perhaps the shaft? One of my friends now has a G30 and he gained about 5 to 10 yards while also improving in accuracy.

SLDR with AD-DI. Went to R15, same results on center face but misses are much better. Just switched to a Tour Green in the R15 and it's been a great change from the ADDI.
I went with a 661 EVO TS. I did everything I could to get the AD-DI to work and it could not outperform the TS

It occurred to me not many posters have switched from SLDR to either Covert or VAPOR. For those who get good launch #'s with the SLDR, these seem to be very very promising alternatives. What's the word on these besides tigger and rors?

pure745 previously had great success with the SLDR and is now on VAPORs, but based on his experience, getting dialed-in on the right set-up appears very daunting. He's apparently going through a never ending fitting process. I can't help but wonder, if without all the fitting sessions, the VAPORs might just be a big whiff.

Read pure745's very thorough write-up about his experience with the VAPORs here:

Not never ending, it ended a long time ago (when the article was written), I've been using the Flex ever since. I tried the 915 D4 and wrote up a comparison just for a reference for the many on here interested in the D4.

Most of my friends and myself have moved from the SLDR to either the R15 and 915 D3 or D4 (all guys under 0 index), a few guys are still with the SLDR but most have switched. 3 guys have gone to Nike, but I'm the only one using the Flex.

I'm not really on most people's level on this board in terms of handicap, disposable income, and accessibility to knowledgeable club fitters that can do work. Those are the reasons I never even thought of trying out any of the Vapor stuff. Mostly it's price. TM is always the cheapest and great value can be had if you know what you're looking for. Even though the SLDR was tough to hit, it was by far the farthest driver for me. R15 feels like an entirely different club. Like the SLDR but more forgiving and sounds much better.

There are also a lot more shaft options (on the used market) for TM products. Hell, I was able to get an SLDR TP with a 661 in it locally for $100 and I live in a small area.

I'm gaming an R15 with multiple shaft options and was able to get the head for $200. If I could get a Vapor for near that price I may have tried it out. No way possible. I might have to wait until next year, or when the new stuff comes out.

Went to the G30 from the SLDR last September. Have never looked back. G30 is a better all around driver and so much better on mishits. I'm just more confident with the G30, and i think that's half the difference.

I'm still banging on a SLDR 430. The ho in me believes there's got to be something that can kick the SLDR out of the bag. Nothing was worth the cost to upgrade last year but it seems like a bunch of new drivers have become available since.

So, in particular I'm asking former 430 users to chime in.... what are you using now?

Been using the JDM SLDR 430 for quite a while and thought I would never replace it but I'm sad to say last night I placed my order for a M2. Numbers don't lie and the M2 had way better numbers on mishits and a little better numbers on center strikes. Looks like I am going to need to find a display case for the JDM SLDR so I can display it on my mantle and remember all the great drives we shared together.
