To be fair, I’ve also owned softtails that were more blade-like. This one is a mini and more mallet-like. I was really only referring to the flowneck style and how it’s changed over the past decade. It’s a cool quick look into the Mills evolution of flownecks.

Full disclosure, I just received a Flat T from David and love it, but don't love the torched finish on  it (shines blue in the sunlight in a way I didn't expect)

 

so I would love to move to that more muted satin finish you have there and may send it back to david.

I think it’s a brushed satin. I’ll say this, the finish on your flat t will probably change over time and become more muted. You may want to wait it out and see how the torch evolves. I owned a brown torched Nellie Wings for 2 years. When I first got it, it was very (overly) shiny. It noticeably dulled in a very good way over time, while developing muted blues through the brown.

My T.P Mills Sycamore - courtesy of Viking Norway and swag courtesy of @jonradus. Super simple SG Stainless finished with very light face milling…no sight lines and and minimalist T.P.M stamping on neck and back. Top down view at address is awesome….no distractions.

I wonder if anyone pick up the new "Slot Back" that David Mills just made 200 pieces of?  It now says sold out.  I didn't buy one btw because they are all right handed unlike me.

I bought a slot back. It was more than I wanted to pay, but the cover and grip seemed a little extra special so I splurged. I’ll post a review here once I receive it, as I’m sure many are eager to hear about it’s sound/feel/responsiveness.

Do it, you'll seriously fall in love with it. A handmade Mills putter is something everyone should try if they love putters.

This finish is pretty shiny. I’m not sure if the slotback and bullet sole do anything for the roll, but this thing sets up very well and is softer than I expected for such light face milling. The feedback is not really any different than my other Mills putters, but the sweet spot definitely feels bigger. Therefore, I believe the slot back and bullet sole increase the size of the sweet spot. The slotback is way less noticeable at address than you would think. The leather on the grip and the cover are really exceptional with an intoxicating aroma. I’m glad I bought this.

I'm regrettably selling it because I do not putt well with a flow neck putter. I've tried many times but the stats don't lie.
What really stinks is that to my eye a flow neck is the nicest to look down at.

Just traded for my first Mills.  Should have it in hand Monday or Tuesday.  Based on pics it looks pretty sweet.  Carbon Ming in Black Ox with light milling.  Site Circle is an added bonus.
