Calling All Center Shaft Putter Users

Tried the straight shafted CS putters and I struggled (all the Seemores, Odyssey, TM, SC) and I've found I actually putt better with an offset center shafted putter for whatever reason. So I am currently using a Cure RX3F (2015) and have a RX3 (2016) that I alternate between as they are weighted slightly differently and have different grips. I like that with a CS putter you're swinging the shaft at the ball if that makes sense.

This is my gamer as I have tried so many different center shafted putters that this one seems to work the best. Easier to align up and easier to judge my distance on those longer putts. Twice with 2 weeks I had 11 putts in 9 holes. Of course having 1 or 2 chip in helps but my putting has improved since going to a CS.

Being a right handed, semi ambidextrous and left eye dominant, I went to putting lab and did some test and experiment in both left hand low and right hand low.

The results shows I average better with left hand low with SBST method.

Minimum offset suit me most, thus center shaft or half offset at the most.

I have been testing the Odyssey ToeUp putter. It is basically slight onset center shafted putter.

Fitted with Superstroke pistol GT with counter core 50grams, this putter is really awesome.

Provided with proper straight back straight through method.

The metalX putter face is slightly on the firmer feel compare to Works versa or White Hot.

Perhaps I'm the only person that's enjoying the performance of this unique technology and design that Odyssey has to offer...

Some or even most people couldn't get used to the look of the putter but it really isn't that bad. Again beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Anybody else has tried and like the ToeUp?

Odyssey Backstryke. Mallet. I changed all the playing characteristics. Graphite insert, nippon heavier shaft, counterbalanced, 36 inches, shaft much better aligned, heavier head, 71 degrees lie. Goal was to improve/maintain the toe up balance. I should insure the putter because it took over 3 years to fulfill the task of fitting. In the end it made me aware of the fact that adjusting and fitting a putter is much more difficult than any other club in the bag.

I'm using a TaylorMade Ghost Spider (the giant one, not the smaller mallet). Distance control is stupid easy. The Spider putters have changed my game completely. Having said that, I'm eyeing up an Anser 5. I don't think it's the center shaft that's bothering me, but I think the footprint is too big and I'm not making enough putts since the putter is big and distracting.

Just got into the CS game.. Golo S5 and Seemore Si5 have changed my putting. Never thought to look at a CS until I found out I was left eye dominant.

Why does CS help you being left eye dominant? Is it the lack of offset?

My issue with CS putters is they make me feel like I'm hitting the ball on the hosel of a very stubby putter. This is because I tend to only visualize from the toe to where the shaft meets the putter head. The black finish on the shaft of Seemore putters helps mildly but I never feel very comfortable over the ball. Maybe I just need some getting used to CS style.

I would like to know as well - why does CS work if you putt righty and are left eye dominant? (I fit that criteria by the way)

I play an Odyssey White Hot Pro #2 Center Shaft and love it. I think that the lack of offset helps with left eye dominant players as the club doesn't look so shut and thus allows the player to not miss align right so much. My miss with a heel shafted putter was always on the push side of the hole but with the CS corrects this visual discrepancy.

Titleist Bullseye Standard!

I also play Bullseye Putters. Most of mine are the early Acushnet. My favorite is the 5A Original (have 2 of them). Can be used right or left.

I also have a few LaFemmes and one SC Orignal Flange. Love the old brass Bullseye.

Also have 2 black Mizuno Bullseye putters.

I bought a Scotty Cameron Pro Platinum Bullseye Flangwe but did not like the size or feel, sold it and bought several old Bullseyes on EBay for a few bucks each! Love them all!

Count me in on the BullsEye Fan Train.

Love the bull!

I like the method 007, you are getting all the technology in there. tungsten, grooves and face milling

I also use a Machine m10 center shaft and seemore m1, both of those have better feel but I think I roll the method the best

Can we resurrect this thread? Why are OEMs no longer offering center shaft options??

You can always go the DeChambeau way

Always hated CS models. Never seemed to be forgiving enough. Miss the SS just slightly and always felt the putter twist.

Also something psychological I think. NO other club do you hit the ball anywhere near the shaft - in fact, we try like heck to avoid it. You know, the "S" word.

So why would I want to hit putts right under the shaft ? Ewwwwwww,,,,,,,,,

So about 3 months ago, even though it's CS, I tried a Veritas Cure RX2 in the PGA Tour Store (I'll try pretty much anything once,,,,,, or twice,,,,,,,, or,,,,,,). Wonderfully forgiving, easy to align and bring SBST. Always had trouble "waving" the putter on the backswing. Take it back outside and have to correct on the way forward. Yuck !!!

But with the RX2 I was able to take it back square much more often than with my mallets (2 Scotties and a Ping Nome TR).

Sold my Scotties and the Ping.

Adjustable for weight and lie,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, you'd have to pry my RX2 out of my cold dead hands !!!

Thought I would add my putter here. Its a Lajosi dd201wb centre shaft, has really been doing the job for me lately just a pitty the rest of the game cant get up on the same level as putting! Had a fitting where I was told that a centre shaft putter would suit my putting due in part to being right handed but left eye dominant. Absolutely love the way this thing feels.
