Don't ever stop to watch a Motorcycle Safety Foundation training class.  There's some severely disfunctional adults out there.  Seen more than a few forget the throttle stops powering the bike when you let go.  Had one go screaming across the training pad and off into the nearby parking lot, then bounce off a parked car when I went thru it with my son. (long time licensed rider at that time). They walk among us, usually with a cane or crutches.

Yep. I don’t disagree. I might be able to achieve that this weekend.  Saturday is the state championship track meet , all the way down in Richland county ( half way to Big Stu’s place) , and Sunday we have a forecast of rain.  So that’s the plan.  I hope.

Oh yea. I get that.  But his calls are short pertinent info , then an update on what the cat  did this morning, who said what on the stories ( he’s addicted to the young and the restless 😬) and or if his neighbors wife came home last night or not.  ( she’s a bit of a gal about town , if you know what I mean ).  Stuff like that.  And I’m a “ nothing but the facts ma’am “ kind of guy.  So it drives me nuts. But I humor him.  He doesn’t have anybody else.

sitting on my patio 11 minutes later, a light rain is falling with a beautiful cool breeze and the smell of ozone in the air.

I’ll give ‘em credit, at least they are taking the class! 
 

Never seen what you describe, but have seen someone hi side and come off the bike. 😯☠️ At under 10 MPH. 😂😂

Larry in LA has an eidetic memory. That's short for photographic memory. If I accidentally give him a cue word he's off and running on a 25 minute diatribe on the history of slavery in Missouri, being read almost word for word off the back of his brain. I eventually have to interrupt History Professor Larry to bring him back to reality, telling him I didn't sign up for that class. But it does give me almost a half an hour to clean the kitchen while he rambles. He does this on so many topics and I just roll my eyes.  So in a 3-hour conversation one might get an interesting 10 minutes of pertinent stuff.

One night at the race track I went into turn 4 hard. Rolled the right rear tire off the bead (we did not use bead locks then) The rim bit and over she went. I knew she was going over and I hit the master kill switch. It went over fast and I hit the switch back and it fired back up. drove to the pits and my son changed the RR tire and I went back out only lost like one lap. It did not stay inverted long enough for oil to run to the top end evidently because it did not smoke. My son wondered if I hit the switch? I assured him I did but when it came back over and I knew it was going to sit I hit it back on. The car had enough forward motion that when I hit the switch I was in 3rd gear and it fired back quickly without the starter. I think I ran like 15th that night. No real damage to the car just a wrinkled quarter panel and skinned top which is like bag chatter and patina on golf clubs battle scars

unfortunately, toilets and sinks don’t drain the opposite direction. it’s yet another myth.

 

what you could do maybe is move to venus. it rotates clockwise. or uranus, which not only rotates clockwise, it’s tilted 90° so it’s spinning sideways compared to the other planets.

Trust me first hand it does not work. I briefly messed around with a set of Dunlop Aussie blades. They spin the same way

Happy belated birthday @scotee!

 

Well, so much for a bunch of retired guys in their 60s and 70s playing 81 or 100 holes in 2

days, much less 1 day. 

 

We played 36 each day, which, I thought was about right for a group of guys this age.

Even a few of us who thought we would play more chose not to. It was mainly because

of the heat that we shut it down after 36. It takes a toll on you and wears you down.

 

Then the thought of a good meal indoors in the cool AC has the stronger pull compared

to playing hot, tired golf, lol.

planning a trip to nashville to play golf with old friends and grill massive quantities of meat. that means being cooped up in an aluminum tube for 3.5 hours with the dregs of humanity and other species.

i trust i’ll gather plenty of material to write about. and i’ll have to check my golf clubs, a risky and time consuming adventure with the opportunity for a debacle.

 

a guy flew here direct, one plane, from london and his clubs went to dubai. i guess they figured a desert is a desert.

I was on the fence before but now I am definitely not moving there.  Plus there's probably a problem when Uranus smells like rotten eggs.
