4. Rory Mcilroy (only because hearing "the champion golfer of the year...." might've been the highlight of his life.)

5. Jason Day

Sleeper: Justin Thomas

 

Best Stories IMO:

 

1. Sergio finally gets his major

2. DJ for 3 wins in a row (2 majors)

3. Westwood or Luke Donald finally get their major

4. Rory returns to greatness

 

I think Jordan getting redemption after missing the playoff by a shot last year and heading to the PGA with a shot at the Grand Slam by 22 would be a pretty great story too.

 

Great point there, I didn't think about how that would set him up for the grand slam this year. He has been struggling this year per his standards. Definitely would create some anticipation leading up to the PGA.

You realize all golf balls apex at the same height right. 3 wood and wedges should be a little lower and hybrid will be little higher

My long putts sometimes take off a bit but in general they apex pretty low.

this is the first time since I had a black and white TV that I won't be watching the open as its now on pay TV. but as usual I will stick 10 euro on Westy and take home my winnings when he come 2nd or 3rd. I hope the wind blows and the guy who can work the ball and control the flight wins.

Watching Golf Channel's Live From The Open Championship is really getting the juices flowing. They're touching on the club's history and providing in depth looks at all the holes.

SkySports coverage on their dedicated The Open channel has been great this week.

Loads of official films from the 70's 80's and 90's plus the Open Zone where they have had players hitting all types of shots with Pro Tracer!

Fowler, Finau, Grace, Schwartzel, Westwood, all showing how they hit low, high, shape shots etc Brilliant!

I really respect him as a golfer , as clutch as anybody and still does well despite the fact tour courses are set up for your power hitters

 

Oh Zach... combine his facial expressions/overall attitude with the white framed sunglasses and it's almost impossible to like the guy.

 

I'm going with Day but really hope Sergio is in contention come Sunday.

 

Oh boy Zach (the I laid up on every par 5 to win the masters), the guy who never takes his glasses off, nor does he seem to know how to ware them (tilted way too far up). Sorry I can't stand that guy.

 

As for The Open, I'm predicting Sergio will finally win a major. Its the year of the "finally winning a major".
