USGA index:

9.9

Goals:

Short Term goals would be to break 72 for the first time EVER.

Long Term goals are to get my handicap down to 3 or below and a custom fitting from Callaway would be inspiring to reach this goal.

Why do I want to go and be fit at Callaway?:

I have never been fit for anything but a driver but I have a rough idea of what I need. I would love to be able to be fit from the best in the world so I can quit trying to fit myself by guessing and trying out stuff that just does not fit me. Also to be able to be fit like a tour pro is just something I would probably never have the opportunity to do so this would be amazing. It would be great to see how a company like Callaway runs their fittings/business and it would be an absolute treasure to do this.

Break 80 for the first time cam close this year with a few 82s, win my Tuesday night league championship again. Quit losing so many balls. Maybe find a ball that actually fits me instead of the prov1 in the woods.

I think this would be a good opportunity for me because I'm going through major swing changes in my swing to make it more efficient which are now making my clubs that were fit with my old swing mechanics obsolete. I'm also leaving no stone unturned with the physical side of it with conditioning and flexibility.

Being a public school teacher I just cant go and fork over money for the latest equipment or fitting session. So I'm always wondering with my clubs whether they are fit best for me and my swing. I also have some gaps to fill but don't know where to fill them so this would be a great opportunity to finally get a bag that is fit to me and my gaps.

Thanks for the chance.

  • State the goals for your golf game in 2017 - I really need to bemore consistent the closer I get to the hole. Most of my practice of late has been pitching and putting. It is a stuggle of late to break 80, and I would like to get back to 70's more frequently. Also Im a lefty, so this is one of the few chances to actually use a prize.

  • State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Golf - Is that even a question :P I have never been fit or really had much in the way of lessons. I would be great to learn some thing from actual trained professionals :) Would love to have some good advice as my 4 year old gets older, he is really taking to golf :)

Current USGA Handicap: 22.2

2017 Goals: My goal for 2017 is to get my handicap to an 18. I recently broke 90 for the first time so I know I am on the right track. I think with a more focused approach to my short game, i.e. wedge makeup I could shave off the strokes needed.

Why this event: Callaway is one of the most exciting brands in the golf sphere right now because of their social media awareness and presence. Podcasts are a part of my daily schedule so having a company that actively puts out content is a big deal. Even though I'm a high handicap I'm a gear hound at heart so listening to the fitting specialists disect the makeup of a pros bag or even have a quick discussion with Phil about his fitting process is extremely interesting.

  • Current USGA handicap

I don't have a USGA handicap currently, though I plan to for next year. Currently, I would guess that I'm about a 3-4 based on average score. I generally shoot mid 70s with a 71/72 thrown in from time to time (as well as an 80/81 unfortunately)

  • State the goals for your golf game in 2017

I want to continue to improve my driving accuracy and greens in regulation. This year, I was in the low 50s/mid 50s in each, and I would like to hit 60% for both.

  • State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Golf

I've never gone through any real fitting before and would appreciate the opportunity to get fit by a professional who can help me achieve my golf goals. Plus, I really enjoy testing and reviewing equipment and Callaway has always been at or near the top of the list in terms of performance and feel. I've had great experiences with their drivers and wedges over the last few years and would love a chance to test out and compare the new products.

  • State the goals for your golf game in 2017: I play in a foursome regularly and always seem to be the 4th out of four. I would like to beat some of my competition. I would like to have better gaps b/w my irons and wedges. I would like to add more 1/2 and 3/4 swings to be more consistent with distances. Never been fit for clubs and I think being properly fit would help with my dispersion and contact.
  • State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Golf:This would be a once in a lifetime opportunity to see the behind the scenes at a major golf brand. The perks are incredible. This is a truly EPIC giveaway.

    • State the goals for your golf game in 2017 - I have broken par on 9 holes a couple of times and would love to shoot at least one sub-par round for 18 holes in 2017. I also need to improve my consistency...especially off of the tee. If I can do those two things, I can compete week-in and week-out at my weekly men's league.
    • State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway- I wouldn't call me a gear-head, but I love trying out new products and enjoying the crazy, new technological improvements that Callaway comes out each year. I've always been a fan ever since the first Big Bertha came out. I strongly believe that getting a set that is fit to my specific specs would definitely help me achieve my goals for 2017.

  • State the goals for your golf game in 2017: I want to break my career low round of 82, break 80, and get my handicap to down to single digits
  • State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Golf: I have never been fit for clubs and in the back of my mind I have always wondered how much getting fit for clubs would help my game and how much it would accelerate the timeline that I could achieve the goals I have set for myself. Additionally, I respect what Callaway has done for the game of golf and the business of golf. They are always on the forefront of moving golf forward technologically, but are always true to the heritage of golf. Callaway has a long history in the game and I would love the opportunity to learn more about what they have done to get them where they are now, what they are currently working on and what they have their sites on. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity that would be an honor to be a part of. Thanks for the opportunity!

Wow, amazing opportunity! This sounds like it'll be another epic equipment/dream thread!

  • Current USGA handicap: +1
  • State the goals for your golf game in 2017: My wife and I just had our first child in July (a boy!), so my first goal is just to get back into a regular tourney schedule! I missed quite a few events this summer (happily, I might add), but we're settling into a nice routine now and I'll be able to play regularly and sharpen the game back up. From there, my goals are to win a local amateur event (or more than one :)), qualify for a national USGA amateur event, and compete in the state amateur events here in NV.
  • State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Golf: I have been doing a lot of swing and mechanics work in the last year or two, and finally feel like I'm in a good place with that side of things. Just in the last few weeks I have started the process of evaluating some different equipment options, as my gear is several years old, and is in need of some updating! I haven't settled on anything yet, and am very open to being convinced by Callaway! I'm a big fan of Callaway's fairway woods and irons, but honestly haven't given their drivers much of a chance. It would be a ton of fun to dial everything in from top to bottom with some of the best in the business, so this trip sounds like a dream! I don't want to milk the baby card too much, but it's hard to justify going all out on fitting/equipment on my own dime right now with baby things to buy, so this would really be a great Christmas gift! Fingers crossed....

Thanks again Callaway and WRX!

- Current USGA handicap: The last recorded handicap I had was a few years ago at 4.5

- Goals for my game in 2017: Like everyone else, I want to get better. I have never had a golf lesson in my life, and am basically "self taught". I feel I am an above average golfer, but I know that I could vastly improve with the right equipment and guidance. My golf game has really suffered in the past few years and I would like to get back to a competitive level where I could be more consistent in all aspects of my game, especially my short game, and honestly feel like I have a chance to shoot even par golf every time I step on the course. My ultimate goal would be to Win My Club Championship again. I won the open division several years ago, but golf has taken a backseat in my life for a few years and I would really love to win that again.

- Why I would want to attend this exclusive event at Callaway Golf: I mean, because it would be AWESOME!!! Plain and simple, who wouldn't want to be a part of this once in a lifetime opportunity? As I stated above, golf has lost importance in my life for the past several years for a number of reasons (being involved with coaching and attending events and the everyday activities of my two young kids, starting and running a couple of businesses, injury that sidelined me for quite some time, etc) These are not excuses, but sometime life gets in the way. I love golf, and am wanting to get back to being one of the better players at my club and to constantly improve and learn.

I have seen photos of the Callaway Perfomance Center and I would love to go "geek out" there and soak up as much knowledge as possible. That place looks amazing!!! I would also love to have the experts scrutinize and analyze every aspect of my swing and my game and put me in the best possible equipment available, along with drills, exercises, etc. to help me reach, and possibly exceed my goals!

Current USGA Handicap- 0.2

State Goals for your golf game in 2017- I would like to get back into tournament golf. For the last 15 years I became a weekend warrior. I played a few local amateur events this past year with mixed results. I love competing in tournaments, money games etc and want to see how good I can be. I would like to turn my weekend scratch game into a tournament scratch or + game if possible.

State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Golf- I am a Callaway junkie! I only use Callaway equipment, but some of my equipment is from years back and I would like to have experts fit me into the new available technology. I still use an FT Tour driver and Razr X Muscleback irons because I am afraid to switch with out proper fitting sessions. I have always dreamed of paying a visit to the Callaway facility and this opportunity would be a dream come true.

My Current USGA handicap index is:

12.7 (converts to about a 14 at most places I play, which are around a 127+/- slope.)

My goals for my golf game in 2017 include:

1. Hit more greens in regulation. I'm a 14 HC, but it's mostly because I've gotten good at "up and Downs." I rarely hit greens, and when I do, it's not close enough to the pin for a one putt (many times, three puts I'm so far away!)

2. Hit more fairways off the tee. I struggle with tee shot accuracy...usually not because of a big slice or a big hook (which I usually don't do,) but just because I'm not sure I have the right club for the job.

3. Hit irons higher, so shots land and stop rather than roll out. Plus, it gives me more options for getting out of trouble when I miss the fairway. I am a decent scrambler, but I'd rather not have to scramble so much in the first place!

Why I'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Golf:

1. My x-hot clubs were never properly fitted for me, so getting clubs that fit my swing and game should help me achieve my goals

2. Callaway is--in my mind--the premier golf company in the world, so why not get fit by the best!

3. I would love to be an ambassador for Callaway products. Achieving my goals and dropping down to a single digit handicap would tell all my playing partners that it was Callaway that did it for me...so go out and buy Callaway product!

    • State the goals for your golf game in 2017: My goal is to get back to a 2 (or lower) index and have more fun doing it. I'm really hoping to get to play more and return to Pinehurst to tackle #7 and #2 again... and not choke on the front 9 at #2. :)
    • State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Golf: From the day I replaced my Mizuno T-Zoid Titanium driver a couple years back I have been a huge fan of Callaway. Take a look at my signature and you will see Callaway has taken over my bag (with the exception of the wedges and trade out hybrid and lob wedge). I have played Odyssey putters since the 90's and have played my best rounds of golf using Callaway balls. Until the switch in driver/3w I was never able to get under par, and since I have gone as low as -4 (68).
    • I would really love to get properly custom fit for the driver/3w and wedge, and maybe they would have a couple suggestions on shafts to improve overall performance. I'm not one to take a chance on a tipped shaft without speaking with the experts and testing the performance.
    • Beyond that, I would really love to talk with the R&D folks about aspects of club design that confuse me to this day.

USGA Index: 0

Goals for 2017:

My goals have shifted with the recent birth of our first son. For 2017, I hope to qualify for a USGA amateur event (USGA Mid-AM or Four Ball), and play in more SCGA events and to win an Invitational event. My goals are also to keep my enjoyment of the game as high as possible with adding a kid into the mix and somehow become a better and more consistent player overall :vava: My index ranges from a +2 to a 1, would like to stabilize it closer the the +2 number!

Why I would want to attend:

Where do I start? First, it's well documented on here and my instagram (below) that I've pretty much completely lost my mind when it comes to testing out the latest and greatest equipment. I've done a few Shootouts that have been posted to the front pages of GolfWRX that were very fun and expensive, but more importantly very educational for me in choosing equipment and how I go about testing clubs. Since then, I have been fit by The Oven at Nike Golf twice, TPI twice, and Cool Clubs about 3 times over the years. Admittedly, Callaway has fallen way off my radar in terms of my enthusiasm towards the brand and trying any of the new clubs. CallaWRX2 was pretty much the nail in the coffin for me. :censored2:

Recently a good friend of mine (currently top 4 on the Web.com) was asking me what I knew about Callaway as he is being courted by them. I told him I really didn't know much at all, he didn't either. He ended up having his fitting session and was raving about the clubs (specifically the Epic). After that, my interest is way up re: Callaway, the club I belong to is also Callaway, so it's surrounding me and I'm interested in learning more. Another thing is that my current bag is made up of various "tour issued" pieces (M2 8.5 degree driver and Jason Day deep faced M2 3 wood) that I don't think can be beat by anything right now, including Callaway :) But would love to see if anything could beat out what I have and if so would love to tell about the process leading up to and after when I get the stuff out on my home course and in tournament play. I have been on a WRX hosted trip to another OEM, I feel confident that I would represent WRX very well, and my posts following up after the events in the past would give you a great idea of the feedback/reviews I write. Thank you for the opportunity!

Current USGA Index: 9.4

2017 goals for my golf game:

Over the past year and a half my USGA index has risen from the 5 range to 9.4 primarily because my left knee has worn out. Although I can still get around okay, my golf game has deteriorated; therefore, next week I'm having my left knee replaced so I can get back to playing better golf (the things we do for golf!) My 2017 goal is to get my index back under 6.0 along with my distance and my enjoyment on the game. Because my knee will be in better shape I'm sure it will help to have clubs that properly fit my new and improved swing and would love to work with the experts at Callaway, the industry leader in golf equipment, to share my success story!

State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Golf:

Golf is a sport that evolves over a lifetime. I've been playing golf for over 40 years and I'm finding out that the equipment becomes more and more specialized and helpful as you get older and I will need new equipment to maximize performance after my knee replacement. For example, I like to play the Callaway Chrome Soft ball but I don't know if that will still the correct ball for me to play. I play the Callaway XR16 driver but I don't know what shaft will best suit my swing as I come back from my knee replacement. Callaway has always been a company that's made equipment for every skill and age level. I know that Callaway will be the best manufacturer to help me and others enjoy our passion for golf and I believe I can help myself and others by sharing the benefits I experience by using Callaway golf equipment.

Thanks for offering this awesome opportunity!

State the goals for your golf game in 2017:

  1. Handicap down to single digit.
  2. Hit 40% of greens in reg.
  3. Eliminate double bogeys (and worse) from greenside bunkers in reg.
  4. Play at least 100 rounds and practice 1-2 times/week to give myself the chance to achieve the other goals.

State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Golfc

I have never played name brand equipment, only knock-offs. I have never been professionally fit throughout the bag. My current irons were made in the early to mid 90's. This would provide a wonderful opportunity to see if I can take my game to the next level. It would also answer the question of how important good arrows are to the Indian for lots of duffers like myself. With a little luck, I would feel like this guy, www.facebook.com/birdiegolfthailand/videos/1264331810285109/

Handicap: 12

2017 Goal(s): Decrease the degree of my "misses" on approaches, the short game and putting...after all, golf is a game of imperfection...but, saving up to five shots a round will bring more confidence and more "gotchas" at the 19th hole.

Why: During over 50 years of golfing I've had all brands of clubs. Plus, I have had multiple "fittings" and lessons. I use quotes on fittings, because they were never consistent. I have had great dealings with Callaway acquiring clubs via chats with CSRs. But, this would be a "bucket list dream" to experience the home of Callaway and come home with the appropriate "wrenches" to use on the back nine of my golfing life.

Regardless, thanks for reading this request and good luck and good fun to those who are chosen.

Current handicap is 5.8

Goals for 2017 are to significantly improve mid-iron accuracy and shot shaping.

I am a long term happy user of Callaway Drivers and Metals including some Japan Spec heads. This would be an amazing opportunity to meet and learn significantly from the Callaway staff, reconnect with close friends who have recently relocated to the San Diego area - and a dream come true would be to meet Phil (if he hasn't already assumed his ambassadorship at the Greenbrier ️) and just happened to stop by HQ. This would also be a huge bonus in being fitted by Callaway resources in a perfect setting. Being chosen for this event would certainly be the high point (I was going to say Apex) of my long term passion for the game of golf.

Handicap: 13.3

2017 Goals: Improve my consistency off the tee and break 80!

Why Me: This season really had my game trending in the wrong direction, which led me to start taking lessons with an experience instructor. This has been great and the improvements I've been making are really exciting, now I would love to fit this new swing to a set of clubs that actual meant for me specifically not just whatever deal I can find on the BST forum. I've always been biased towards Titleist but remember my first driver as a kid being a Callaway so I'm open to giving them an honest chance and a full review for the rest of WRX to share in the experience.

Please pick me for this awesome experience and thanks Callaway and GolfWRX for another greater opportunity!

I know voting isn't involved, but I'm voting for Tai anyway. We need his no bull**** takes and feedback to keep everyone honest, lol.

USGA index: 5.3

Goals: Break Par more consistently, and get my 1st Ace -- I've been close too many times, but just hasn't gone in.

I love the game and playing at a more consistent, predictable level is what I work for every week.

Why do I want to go and be fit at Callaway?:

I have played for 30+ yrs and have never been rich enough nor had access being fitted by a world-class team with world-class equipment, optimized just for me/my swing. I've have spent thousands $$/hours in my playing life, but never really known if I could have scored better if I had the right fitting/best clubs.

I live in SoCal and about 1.5hrs from the Callaway HQ, so to be fitted by the Callaway Tour fitters/Team would be nothing short of a life-long dream, and would change my game forever.

State the goals for your golf game in 2017: I want to improve my driving accuracy, improve my mid-irons accuracy and improve my putting accuracy... basically, I'd like to get my handicap down to a 5 or below. I would love for this year to be the year that I shoot even par!!!

State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Golf: I have three reasons why:

  • 1) I've never been fitted with golf clubs and I think it would be at a minimum a psychological benefit to my game and encourage me to stop blaming my equipment (ha!). Seriously, I've played Callaway clubs for years and have played the Callaway X-forged irons (4-PW) since 2013... they're awesome!!! I also have two Callaway Mack Daddy wedges (52 and 56 degrees) and an 18 degree hybrid... absolutely love them! I've always wondered how my game could improve if I had properly fitted equipment and better understood the benefits and mechanics behind current Callaway golf equipment technology;
  • 2) I'm a retired military officer (retired on 1 September 2014) and have been VERY impressed with how Callaway has honored military veterans across our country. I attended the Phoenix Open this past year (I now live in AZ) and saw Phil Mickelson using a military vet as a caddie and I thought how awesome it is for Callaway to be so committed to the men and women who have served our country in the military. I love the work Callaway does for the troops. It would be an honor for me just to say thank you in person for all you and your organization have done to help the men and women in uniform;
  • 3) One final reason I would love to attend this event... my wife and I got married in San Diego on Dec 10, 1999... this would be an AMAZING anniversary present!!! When we got married she promised me that she would learn to play golf if I learned to dance. I've taken 3 or 4 dance lessons... she hasn't picked up golf yet. I would love to surprise her and get her fitted at Callaway Golf; she wouldn't have any excuses to join me on the golf course... so, you and your company would gain an additional life-time supporter. You already have me for life... you would have Kimberly committed to Callaway for life as well.

Thanks for your consideration!!! Kindest regards, Brent McArthur (480-492-8092)

1. 3

2. To shoot 65 and get to scratch

3. I've never been on a golf vacation, I've never been fit for clubs before, I've never won anything on GolfWRX, and I haven't played a Callaway club since 1997. I'm the perfect person for this. I'd like to see what Callaway could offer my game and how they can make it better. It would be an unbelievable opportunity to go to their facility in Carlsbad and meet several WRX'ers while getting to check out the latest from Callaway.
