First, Wow! what an amazing opportunity from Callaway and Golfwrx! I would absolutely love to be chosen to go to this!

Current USGA handicap

My current handicap is +0.1, my best was around +2.5 I believe.

State the goals for your golf game in 2017

When I was playing really well right before I went to college I had the capability of stringing together multiple under par rounds in a row. I could shoot anywhere from 65-72 on a given day and I could always keep the ball in play. Now, I'm 25 and married with limited practice time. My game is still competitive but i've lost the ability to go really low or follow a good round with another good round. My goal is to increase my confidence and get close to what I use to be. I still hit the ball solidly and there is no reason that I cannot be able to string together multiple under par rounds. I want to win some of my Section PGA events and be near the top in scoring averages. To do that I need to start with confidence in my equipment.

State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Golf

I have never been selected for a trip or giveaway and I would love to go to Callaway and go through a true, high end club fitting instead of simply guessing to see what works for myself. I feel I leave a bit of performance on the table and this would be an unbelievable opportunity to take my game to a new level. I've always loved Callaway equipment and currently play 13 Callaway clubs. I also love meeting and networking with other Wrx'ers and this trip would be such a fun way to experience that. I have a burning passion for golf equipment and club building and this trip would just tickle me to death!

Thank you Golfwrx and Callaway,

Goals for 2017: return to consistent play following injury in 2016

State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Go: Herniated disk in my neck this year changed my game. Although my handicap only went up a bit, my swing has changed to protect my neck and shoulder. I'd love to get re-fitted to accommodate this change and allow me to return to form.

My current USGA handicap (not GHIN, need to get one) is 0.7.

I want to improve my average GIR to 60%, hit a few more fairways, and break par more often. My ultimate goal is to be a plus handicap. I also want to shoot in the 60s again, and eventually play tournament golf well enough to compete in Mid-Amateur Qualifying.

I would love to attend this opportunity with Callaway because of the quality of the company, its employees and their attentiveness to the tour staff and amateurs alike, and creating products that fit every spectrum of golfer. I had the opportunity to visit Carlsbad almost 3 years ago, and though other OEMs turned me down Callaway opened their doors, welcomed my dad and I into their offices, and shared with us about their desire to create great equipment. We even got to see the Big Bertha Alpha, which hadn't even been released at the time to press. Callaway is a company that is not only reputable but has a passion for serving the golf community in ways that most OEMs don't. Also, southern California is pretty great, too!

Callaway, thank you for the opportunity to be considered for this wonderful trip.

Why would like an Epic trip of a lifetime? Because it's an Epic trip of a lifetime and I spend more time on GolfWRX than I do talking to my wife and what better way is there to meet members of this board that have similar interests to me!?!?

Plus a few other surprises along the way.

DATES: Sunday, December 11th - Tuesday, December 13th

GROUP INVITES: 8 GolfWRX Community Members

TO APPLY YOU MUST BE:

  • A GolfWRX member in good standing
  • Ready and willing to achieve your 2017 golf goals with the help of Callaway Golf

  • Current USGA handicap: 11.2
  • State the goals for your golf game in 2017: I want to become a better "all around player" and lower my handicap to single digits. I want to be able to consistently hit a tee shot that leaves me a realistic opportunity for a GIR. My biggest area for improvement is my driver off the tee.
  • State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Golf: There comes a time in your game when your goals (playing to a single digit handicap) have to align with your work ethic (time on the range) and ability. As a young professional juggling a career, being an active father (I have 2 sons, 8 and 11 (my 11 year old has high functioning Autism), husband and being active in the community (coach little league baseball) having a great game like golf gives me the mental stress relief we all need and also drives me to become better physically, mentally and goal driven personally. Unfortunately I have never had the luxury to invest in my golf game and have the proper gear fitting to know that my equipment is correct for my game. Also being a lefty hurts too because it is nearly impossible to demo equipment to know if it is the right fit. This would be an opportunity of a lifetime and something I would cherish forever. Thank you for the opportunity to even be considered.

2017 goals: Need to get much much more consistent with my ball striking. It has really held me back the last couple years as I can't seem to keep it going over stretches of the season. Even more frustrating is that my overall short game has improved, but when the tee-to-green game is in the pits, the short game can only save you so much.

Why I'd want to attend: Not sure if there's enough space to type out all the reasons, haha...so I'll keep it brief: it would be the experience of a lifetime and something that I'd never forget; Over the last season I've finally given Callaway a chance when I never did in the past, and now I'm happy to say that I love my driver and fw, and can't wait to test more Cally gear; Even when I used to travel for work, I never made it to California...and I think I can honestly say that this would be the coolest reason ever to finally come visit!

- continue to lower my cap, and try my hand at some competitive golf. I've been grinding hard and my cap has been as low as +2.4 this year but I need to be more consistent.

-I play 14 clubs and the only ones I've ever been fit for where my irons, and that is the strongest part of my game. I know I am leaving crazy yards on the table with my driver, and I have some awkward gaps at the top of my bag and I have really no idea if I should add to the top of my bag and lose a wedge, or tweak the specs of my current woods/wedge configuration. Being fit in to a full bag would give me the utmost confidence and allow me to continue to lower my scoring average.

Current USGA 10.5

I've been playing golf for over 52 years and my golf goals for 2017 are to get my index down to 8. I improved from to 10.5 from 12.5 this year with more consistency from being able to play more often (since I retired at the start of the year). I would like to have more confidence in my driver and continue to improve my short irons.

It has been a while since I was fitted and with the proper fitting and the latest fantastic Callaway equipment, I think this an awesome opportunity that would be a once-in-a-lifetime thrill to experience with major lasting impact on my golf game.

  • Current USGA handicap (or average 18 holes score) No official handicap, probably about 14.

  • State the goals for your golf game in 2017 - Honestly, just to play more. I've been so busy this year that I've only played a handful of times. I'd really like to be more consistent as well - I hit a lot of good shots, but there's always a few stinkers that ruin my round.

  • State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Golf - I've never been fit for a whole set before. This would be the perfect opportunity to know that I am playing the right clubs for my swing. I've always been a fan of Callaway and feel like they make some of the best clubs in the business. And who wouldn't want to visit California in December.

I want to add 20+ yards to my driving distance.

I want to reduce my index to single digits (I was an 11.2 only 2 years ago).

I want to shoot my age. I am currently 75.

I currently play the Callaway Chrome S as I find it is best around the greens, and short game is my strength.

I haven't replaced my clubs in the past 10 years, and I particularly like the Callaway irons a lot.

I'm running out of years to achieve my goals noted above. :golfer:

Thanks to Callaway golf for such a great opportunity!

My current USGA handicap is a 12

WRX member since 2015

A couple of years ago I switched from being a Ping golf club player to a Callaway golf club player.

Thanks to the help of the Callaway regional representive and my local club fitter I have changed out all my clubs to Callaway products and have improved my game. I changed my golf ball to a Chromesoft from a ProV1 and have enjoy great results.

Many of my friends I play with and those in my golf leagues have noticed the change and are now making changes to Callaway products.

My goal now is to take my golf game to the next level, to be able to break 80 and average a mid 70's score, by lowering my handicap and being able to compete in local golf tournaments with a chance to win. I know that an opportunity to have the staff at Carlsbad evaluate my swing, and properly fit me with Callaway clubs with the proper shafts etc., will help me accomplish these goals and would be an opportunity of a life time.

Once again thanks the Callaway!

Current HDCP 15, My goals for my golf game in 2017 are to lower my HDCP by playing more concistant golf., I seem to be able to par holes and then just blow up on different holes in the same round. Current USGA handicap - 15

State the goals for your golf game in 2017 - My main goal for 2017 is to improve my ball striking, particularly off the tee. My issues are a combination of a flawed swing, which I'm addressing currently through lessons, and equipment that is probably not the best fit for me. If I can drive the ball a little better my scores would go down by 5+ strokes as I'm lucky to catch more than 5 fairways in a given round and even then my distance suffers from lack of a consistent center face strike.

State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Golf - Many reasons. In addition to the obvious - awesome new Callaway golf set-up with professional fitting- I'd thoroughly enjoy the behind the scenes look at the Callaway operations. A chance to chat with Callaway execs, R&D folks, reps, and the marketing guys would be a really cool experience and opportunity to learn about Callaway and the golf industry in general. Participating in the R&D process would be great as it would provide a view into how new clubs are tested/developed and what club design does to help players of my ability level. And it would make for a great end to the 2016 golf season as I transition into my 4 month hibernation period.

Very cool of Callaway and WRX to provide this opportunity to the membership here, thanks guys!!

I've been told in the past that there is no way I'm a 17 handicap because of some of the great flashes in my game, but I cannot consistently put my game together. I feel like I'm a 12 handicap stuck in a 17's body! I feel like the instruction and overall commitment to my golf game will help me get over that inconsistency hurdle and really string together some good rounds. I've been stuck in the 16-18 for a few years now. I've also never consistently played callaway clubs but the single ones I have hit/owned in the past, I have hit very well.

State the goals for your golf game in 2017: Consistency, I tied my low round this year but also shot some high scores. I want to hit more fairways and greens and keep giving myself chances for birdies not scrambling to save bogey.

State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Golf: Every time I have been fit it was a limited selection and it always felt like the fitter was trying to push something on me. I would love to be fitted by someone who not only knows all there is to know but can have an honest conversation about my game. I am open to any and all clubs that will lower my score, shovels or butter knives! Callaway is a leader in the game and I completely trust them to take my game to the next level.

Thanks to Callaway and GolfWRX for the amazing opportunity.

Golf goals 2017: to play to the best of my ability and knowing that this fitting will be the best opportunity to do so. I play in many handicapped tournaments for cash and prizes and my competitive fire at 50 years old is very high. I've been fit before but never on the level of this opportunity

Why I want to attend this exclusive event: my screen name isn't a bit. It's a testament to my loyalty of a company who's flagship player is also a lefty. I also believe that I have hands down the ugliest and most unique golf swing in this community and I would relish the chance to be critiqued and evaluated with this type of technology. Trust me when I tell you it's an ugly golf swing!!

Ty for the chance!

Goals for 2017: Played my last competitive round at the 2006 USGA Am at Hazeltine. Later that year my wife and I had our first child and I have focused my free time and energy being a solid figure in my kids lives the past ten years. Now that my boys have taken an interest in the game my first goal is to focus on playing more regularly with them in 2017 and helping them develop good fundamentals and technique. A second personal goal for myself is to qualify for a USGA Mid Am in 2017 or 2018.

Why I would like to attend this fitting opportunity: My current bag is filled with clubs 10, 15, and 20 years old (Ping G10, TM V Steel, Mizuno Grad, Vokey Wedges, and Ping Anser an old one) and I know to achieve my goal of qualifying for a US Mid Am I need to upgrade my equipment. Being the father of four kids and working full time it just is not in the budget to outfit myself with new clubs and do a private bag fitting with a company like Carl's Golf Land or Miles of Golf. This opportunity would be a dream come true and start me off to achieving my goals.

Current Handicap:

18.0

Goals for 2017:

1) Decrease the severity of my bad drives. Driving has been a real issue this year, constantly putting myself in situations that make it difficult to score well.

2) Improve my accuracy from 150 in. I feel that I should be hitting more GIR than I do. Poor driving plays a role in my poor GIR, but I still miss more greens from the fairway than I feel I should.

3) Increase overall confidence with whatever club I have in my hand, especially my fairway wood and hybrid.

4) Routinely break 90.

Why do I want to attend?

This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for those of us not in the industry. Getting to sit down and talk to Callaway executives, engineers, other staff, and fellow WRX members in a intimate setting would be an incredible experience for a golf gearhead like myself. Getting fit at a state-of-the-art fitting center would also be a very cool experience. I've never been to southern California so getting to spend a few days in the perfect weather of San Diego during the early winter would just be the cherry on top!

Goals for 2017: Played a lot of golf competitively in my 20-30's, but I will turn 49 in January. My kids are both of the age now where they can enjoy a round with Dad(12 and 14)! Next season, I plan to work on my short game consistency, all the while helping my children to do the same. They are always both worried about the power game, but I continue to stress to them the importance of the short game. I hit it fairly long for my age and usually play around 6500-6800 yards when playing with my buddies. This means, I have wedge in my hand on second shots about 60-70% of the time. All year long this year, I caught myself saying "My wedge game sucks"! Next season, my goal is to change that.

My big reason to attend the Callaway Golf Event: I have gone from playing Mizuno blades in my competitive years to trying Ping, Titleist and Callaway over the last 10 years. I usually just buy what I think looks good to me off the rack and do not spend a lot of time getting properly fit with shaft flex, lie, swing tempo, etc. I'll spend a little time switching out shafts at a PGA Superstore for Drivers and looking at the trackman results, but beyond that I have never had the opportunity to test a full line of equipment and truly see what works best for me.

· State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Golf:

Break out of my comfort zone. When it comes to equipment, I really put the blinders on and choose what I know has worked in the past. I guess you can say I FEAR different equipment. For the last 18 years I have used the same manufacturer of Irons, wedges and woods. Recently started messing around with some hybrids, but find myself going to the same manufacturer. I HAVE ISSUES. Experimentation away from the norm for me can be costly and I don’t like thinking I might have failed at an experiment.

This opportunity allows the blinders to come off, get fit with gear from out of my norm and try something new.

My current HDCP is 15 and I don't seem to be able to lower it in the past rounds. Next year I want to get back to my more normal HDCP of 10 or lower. My mode of operation is to par and birdie 2 or 3 holes and then just blow up on the next holes and struggle with getting back to shatter par . Usually by the 16, 17 and 18 holes I can get it back to pars but by then I am shooting in the high 80's It is very frustrating !!!I have a full bag of Callaway clubs but think having a Callaway expert fitter work though them with me would really help me gain confidence and allow me to reach my goals. Plus time spent in California cannot be all bad!!!

State the goals for your golf game in 2017:

1. Break par on 18

2. Continuing to work towards becoming a scratch golfer (started at a 12 when I took the game back up after a 7 year break)

3. Accuracy on shots from 150 and in

4. Accuracy off the tee

5. Continue to improve my short game

State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Golf: Once upon a time I was a Callaway homer and you couldn't get me to even consider anything other than Callaway. Once I snapped the head off of my Great Big Bertha 7 degree driver the love affair started to fade. I would love for some new Callaway products to change that opinion and kick the current equipment out of the bag and represent Callaway once again. I am a constant tinkerer as many are on here the opportunity to work with your level fitters at Callaways home base would be a dream of mine. I got totally clean and sober about 6 years ago and it has been the best decision ever. During that time I managed to fall back in love with the game of golf and have been able to enjoy some really amazing times on some really fantastic courses thanks to my second chance at life. Something like this would only cement the decision I made and I would truly cherish an opportunity like this. Plus you'd have a die hard Callaway fan back in the fold again.

  • State the goals for your golf game in 2017:

Lower my handicap and play more consistently. Especially in Tournaments

  • State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Golf:
  • I have never been fit for clubs and am convinced shafts and clubs can be optimized for the individual golfer. I would also love to see the center and interact with the team there.

USGA Handicap - 20

Personal Goals for 2017 - consistent iron play. Loose too many strokes / holes based on inconsistent iron striking. Strong off tee and low puts, but it can be quite the adventure in between.

Family Goals for 2017 - play more golf with the family.

Why I want to attend - get a chance to get out of the CT winter and spend some time working on my game when I should be thinking about splitting wood for the fireplace. Seriously, I would like to get some irons in my hands that give me confidence after a good (or bad) tee shot.

Current USGA handicap: 14.9

Goals for 2017: Break 80 consistently (seldomly do that).

Why do I want to participate in this fitting?: I could never afford to do this on my own. Have always felt fittings at local stores leave out much of the technology available at Calloway. This would give me confidence that my equipment is not the problem.

Current Handicap:

6.8

2017 goals:

- Shoot my age (I will have my 65th birthday in 2017)

- Reduce handicap to less than 3 (prior low was 3.2)

- Make more birdies per round

- gain 10+ yards off the tee

State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at Callaway Golf

I never have had the opportunity to be fitted -- this would be a great chance to see how technology and a professional eye could impact and improve my game at 65. We have always admired Callaway and their dedication to improve the game. In 2005 our daughter was recruited to play in college and was sent to Carlsbad to be fitted by Callaway. She had a great experience at Callaway and couldn't have been more excited when the X-14 Steelheads and Big Bertha titanium woods showed up at our door (clubs are in my garage :). I would love to experience the same!
