Big announcement coming from TaylorMade and Tiger tomorrow

I'm with you, but please give us more details and I'll really be with you.

I heard there's a pretty exclusive TM event at the Philadelphia Criquet Club involving Tiger, very limited press. Seems too secretive to be a product release

Could also be milled putters announcement, we'll see how good my sources are...ones clearly more exciting than the other

TP line I think. If tigers involved who knows when that would be announced. He might not have any desire to be involved with a equipment company.

I still think it's funny some of you think Tiger is somehow in any position of power when it comes to equipment negotiations.

He's closer to getting a handicap sticker from the DMV than he is being some major marketing force.

He couldn't sell Nike clubs at the height of his glory but now that he can't make a cut he's all of a sudden gonna move hardgoods?

No

Just no

TP announcement and TGR announcement coming on the same day led to confusion most likely. I don't think he wants to have a say in an equipment company seems like he's more into designing courses and other business ventures....and hopefully the state of his game.

Maybe a TGR line could be something in the future in regards to equipment.

Agreed. I'm sure companies would love to have them on board but no one is going to over pay him for his services.

I'm still holding on to hope for a Tiger Made line of clubs

Honest question

Why?

Because he's GOAT. And this thread makes it plenty obvious he still moves the needle more than anyone. All non golf people talk to me about is tiger. They couldn't name 3 other golfers

I remember saying to my playing partner how awesome it would be if Tiger bought Nike's clubmaking arm and put the TW logo on the stuff instead, can't see it happening sadly.

Everyone is fixated on what equipment Tiger will change to now.

What about the equipment (major OEMs only) that he would avoid. Anyone have any input on this? Sorry if someone else already posted this sort of a reply - I read a lot of the thread but not all of it.

they both had major announcements today.. and TGR leaves the door still open at a chance of Tiger being part of the group buying TMAG right now..

Dre thats what I'm thinking Nike has the rights to the TW brand still with his clothing.. Im holding on to the rumor that he is part of the group purchasing TM.. this allows his equipment line to be TGR at TM and his clothing TW under Nike umbrella..

The first thing that came to mind with the TGR announcement was his own line or branded line of clubs. A good point above that Nike has TW on lockdown so TGR makes sense. Hire some of the guys he's worked with over the years at the Oven, get a product line or 2 out there with TGR stamped on them instead of TW. It will still sell just like it always has.

I'd like to look at the viewings/attendance of the Safeway Open, and how drastically they changed when TW pulled out...

But if he doesn't move the needle, I'd guess it had little impact on the tournament.

The estimated 30%-40% increase in ticket sales when he entered the tournament tells a different story.
