Taylormade p750 and p770 irons

What shafts are you guys playing in your 770s/750s? I trying to decide if I want to stick with PX LZ or try something different.

 

Edit: think I am going to go with Super Peening Blues in X flex.

What do you think are the differences between psi tour and the 750's? At the moment I'm really happy with the tours (4-p kbs tour r hard stepped once) but the 750's do look so good!! Also what about the 3,4 and 5 irons? Are they easy to hit?

Recently demo'd' the 770 and 750 irons went for my usual dynamic golf S300 shafts.

Ball contact was more consistent

Thanks man! First new set in 7 years (coming from 710 MB's). The wedges are exactly what I expected, tons of spin and very solid at impact, love them. I do need a gap wedge though 46* PW ---> 56* is a huge gap.

Took me a long time to decide on a new set of irons, I have been testing irons over the last few months and these babies are a joy to hit.

Will they make me a better player?, probably not

Will they lower my score?, again probably not but they feel amazing and they have a look at address that fills me with confidence.

I love these irons.

 

I have had a couple of rounds now with my 3-PW 770s with 6.0 regulation Project X shafts and I love them. The LZ were hitting the ball too high for me, so I went back to the old faithful shafts I used to have in my 2008 AP2 irons. I am realizing that I am not quite good enough to hit the 3 iron consistently, so I am going to seek out my first hybrid to complete the set.

 

I found the irons to hit it higher and with a much better dispersion than the 716 AP2s and Apex Pros. These are the first TM irons I have enjoyed since the classic TP combos of 2004, and have definitely opened up the chance to have full bag of TM gear since those days.

i have 770s coming... First set of TM Irons I've ever ordered or played.

Got my 770's in last Wednesday. Have already played 4 rounds with them.

 

 

I like them, but seem to have a bigger fade with them. My previous irons (2014 TP MC) had a pretty straight ball flight PW-8, then a slight fade 7-4. Now I'm full blown slicing 7-4, and having a 5 yard fade on the low irons. And even though they are about a degree stronger than the MC's, I'm losing about 5 yards distance with them. A bit bizarre.

I have the P770 4-PW, standard lofts, with the Modus 3 120 Stiff, hardstepped once.

Previously, I used the Nike Fly Pro irons, 1* weak, with DG S400.

 

Ball flight is higher with the Modus than S400, which is what you would expect with a lighter shaft.

Although I haven't gotten on a Trackman lately, I would say that spin is slightly higher.

 

Of course, YMMV based on your swing. Best option is to find a demo day and swing them for yourself. Modus is a stock option for the P770, so the demo day rep should have it for you to try.

 

As for me, I am very happy with the P770

Ordered a set of P770s last week after hitting them, with KBS Ctaper shafts. I tried these against the 716 CBs, and of course my current MP59 set.

 

I could mash the ball almost anywhere on the clubface like an ape and the distance and trajectory were nearly the same. It was absolutely ridiculous. It sincerely felt like cheating. The 716 CBs felt much less forgiving, however they were really nice. The Taylormades also made my MP59s feel unforgiving. I did everything I could to not buy the P770s, but they are outstanding.

 

Now the waiting begins. For some instant gratification, I bought an Evnroll ER2 putter :nyam:

I am. Not sure i really see the short irons flighted any lower but they seem to be a decent shaft nonetheless.

Really can't say enough good things about the p750. I love the look behind the ball and the feel is soft/solid. I have a ton of confidence over the ball. TM did a decent job with the custom build, just had to adjust a few of the lofts (which I ordered as standard). Ordered mine with DG TI X100 & GP tour velvet chords and they came out beautiful.
