With the latest update, Is the Mevo capture rate still around 70-75% or has it improved?

 

My worst capture rate for any given session was off the initial build and it was 90%.

 

Just took mine to my local driving range. Owner hit 15 shots with a 7 iron, and MEVO picked all of them up. What was impressive was how well MEVO performed with his inconsistent shots. He sprayed shots anywhere from 150 yards to 187 yards, and his shorter shots had more curvature. MEVO picked all of his shots up and were all verified to be within 2-3 yards of actual carry. When we were done, he said the accuracy was "scary."

 

I'm kicking around the idea of buying another Mevo. My brother in law really wanted my first SC200 before I sold and now wants my new one. He is one of those people who refuses to buy anything on the internet and said he would give me $300 cash for it today. I was like what ever, if you want it that bad you can have it. I'm really that attached to it.

I grabbed a tape measure as I figured you guys would be asking...Mevo was 56 inches behind the ball, and my net is 16 feet in front of the ball.

How long after getting ups tracking information before you received your mevo?

 

Got the email saying it shipped Tuesday. This email said I would get the tracking number later in the day. I never got it, so I emailed Mevo and asked for the tracking number.

Anyway, it shipped Tuesday, and I should have got it Friday except UPS people are stupid(it was delayed due to late trailer), so I rec'vd it today. I am in Vermont, and of course Mevo is in Florida.

16 feet? How high is that dang net you can hit wedges?

 

Real f'ing high! It's actually netting that I hung between two trees...and yes I had to use a ladder to get it up high enough.

I am thinking about pulling the trigger -- but trying to read this thread to see how they perform, it seems to appear that they were very "beta" early on, but with recent software updates have gotten a lot better and more usable.

 

I am not sure my club would take kindly to me putting a bunch of stickers on their balls Titleist NXT range balls. Has anyone figured out a less intrusive option for that aspect? Will a metallic marker work (I saw early on that it would -- but was hoping maybe this was updated more recently). If you don't use the sticker -- how accurate on the other measurements (knowing that spin will not be accurate)?

Can metallic sharpies be used instead of stickers? Not currently but we are working on other solutions.

So what does the Outdoor Mode do that the Indoor mode doesn't? Does outdoor allow for a longer spin reading? Tried to look for some info and finding very little.

Our guesses would probably be pretty good...

 

Pretty sure outdoor mode measures spin as long as MEVO's beam detects the metallic dot.

 

My guess is indoor mode probably tracks pre-impact and post-impact spin, then has an algorithm to remove post-impact spin before displaying data.

Carry distance doesn't seem to need the metallic stickers from my limited use of the Mevo. As far as spin goes you would need the stickers more for ur higher lofted clubs . With my woods, 4/5 hybrids and 6 iron the difference between sticker and non sticker spin was minimal . Probably a 100-350 difference .
