Tiger Woods: "No Timetable for my Return to Golf..."

People wonder why I pick on Tiger so much. It's threads like this. Everyone clinging to memories of great golf played... Wait for it....9 years ago.

It's been over for a long time.

Tiger had 5 wins and led the money list 2013. Pretty sure that's not 9 years ago.

I was hoping he'd make it back to respectability, but sadly it looks like his body wont let him. Father Time never loses.

And prior to that it had been 5 years. 2013 was great, but clearly a blip on the radar.

Wrong again, 5 years? He won 6 times 2009, 3 times 2012 and 5 times in 2013. Either your math is bad or your just trolling and not even posting anything based on facts

Sorry.. I don't worship at the Church of Tiger. Never have. Never will.

Yeah, so?

Stating facts.

You dont have to. But at least be accurate about the facts of his career. You act like the man hasnt been relevant in golf in a decade, when its simply not the case.

He was the #1 ranked golfer in the world in 2013. Hell, Phil hasnt won since Tiger's last win at Firestone in 2013, and Phil's played some damn good golf in the past 5 years. Should kinda tell you just how hard it is to win, and just how good Tiger was.

The PGA Tour is what it is right now largely because of Tiger Woods. You dont have to like him or "worship" him, but his body of work throughout his career deserves everyone's respect, no matter how this final chapter of his career is unfolding.

Interesting reaction for being willfully ignorant, passing off uninformed opinions as truths and reluctance to look up simple facts...

I admit, lazy trolling on my part.

It's 25 degrees and I'm bracing for a snowstorm delaying my golf season by probably 4 weeks. I'm angry and bored

At least you admit it. I'll give you credit for that.

Look, Tiger was great for the game. As I mentioned in another thread, he single-handedly built the golf channel, made others interested in the sport, etc.

But we really pay a lot of attention to a player who hasn't won a Major in quite sometime, and is ranked well into the 100's.

Lol that makes all of this attention and updating even more eye roll worthy.

I really enjoyed TW's era of dominance, watched nearly every tournament he played in. However, I really enjoy watching golf without Tiger as well and for the most part have moved on.

So many of the TW fans are so emotionally attached that it's kinda sad. It's like watching a friend chase an ex gf who clearly doesn't want to be with them but strings them along like a sad puppy. It's a psychologically abusive relationship to be honest.

There you have it, folks ... Tiger fanboys are psychologically abused. I knew there was something strange about them. :)

He wouldn't be in the top 1000 now if he hadn't played in his own "everybody gets ranking points" Hero World Challenge.

Careful. Might be accused of trolling with that post.

Why, are members overly protective of the OWGR around here?

It could be construed as anti Tiger.

Why? Simple really, if you don't play you don't get points. If he goes two years without playing you'll be even with him in the rankings.

I'm aware. Just some are very sensitive/protective of him.

Tongue firmly in cheek by the way with these comments.

Ahhh, the old TW fan analysis. TDO was the best at thoses...

I feel pity for how empty the lives of Tigers dwindling fan base must be to attach their own sense of self worth to their broken down champion.

Miss TDO ; )

Need to get a match set up between Tiger and #712 Himmat Rai. I smell prime-time special.

There you go basic, starting to sound half way reasonable!?

Don't be a victim

Oh come on. Stop beatin' it. Get out there yourself.

Stop feedin' off me! Get out of here. I can't breathe.

Give me some air.

golfer07840: The game is not just about majors, if it were then people wouldn't talk about all the other golfers. If you are basing careers on Major tournaments then there would be no one to talk about or to follow. Woods has won 79 tournaments, set many professional records. I think he deserves many props. To deny his success is to deny everyone before and virtually everyone who has followed. Golf isn't just about winning, neither is life, it is about appreciation, doing your best, and appreciation of a beautiful game that really can't be defeated. It is not paying homage to Tiger, it is appreciation to what he has brought to the game, nobody before or since has had the impact he has.
