REVIEWS: Fujikura ATMOS Tour Spec Testing. Read what member testers say.

Recommended Posts

Hey Fujikura, I'm very close to pulling the trigger on a few ATMOS TS Blue's for my driver and 3-wood. I'm the classic tweener swing between S and X and have had success playing both. I'm 90 mph with the 6-iron on average and around 105 with the driver with an average transition. Would you recommend a tipped S or untipped X?

For Driver, the S flex tipped 1/2" will give you that "tweener" flex if that is what you're seeking. And we recommend 1" tipping on 3W

Hope this helps, let us know how it goes.

S flex tipped 1/2" is my setup and I love it.

Sorry if I missed this, but anyone have any insight on the atmos blue compared to the tensei blue? Similar at all? Very different?

Thanks guys

Launch/Spin wise, the ATMOS Blue sits right between the Tensei White and the Tensei Blue (the White being the lowest launch/spin of the 3). It's not by much either, I'd say the Tensei Blue is about 1/3-1/2 of a step between the ATMOS Blue and ATMOS Red. You could get a similar ball flight tipping a Red 1/2-2/3" (assuming driver here).

Not sure you could answer this one, but if I launched a 70s tensei blue in a good window, do you think an atmos blue 60s would be similar with the lighter weight?

On paper that should be pretty equivalent. I'd expect to see higher ball speed w/the ATMOS as well (due to the lighter weight). It's really hard to say how you'll react personally to the lighter weight though, it's certainly worth trying.

Thanks for your input. I just got fit for driver for the cobra connect experience. Check out that thread for my fitting experience. I just want to know about the Atmos since they didn’t have it at the place I got fit.

Switched back to an ATMOS Black 6X in my G400 Max and had an ATMOS HB Blue 8X installed in my G400 3H. My goodness. The change in control, ball flight and dispersion was immediately evident and both shafts feel amazing! I'm happy I caved to SwingBlues pestering me ( :pimp: ) about going ATMOS because they're going to be a game changer for me. Now to resist the urge to picked up a Blue 7X for my M2 3HL!

Pestering..more like knock some sense into you :drinks: Seriously, when I get an ATMOS for my Ping G400 and still keep my ATMOS for my Epic, there is something right there. Seeing you came from the same background of Hzrdus & Even Flow, my experience is that the ATMOS offers far better control and dispersion at the critical bottom end of the back swing - there is truth in their technology and research. Match the Black with a super forgiving head like the Max, you have the ultimate driving machine...(to borrow a phrase) :smilie_fuji: :smilie_ping:

Anybody have any experience putting one of the atmos hybrid shafts in a driving iron?

Curious as well

Yes, I have a 9x in my m2 LIFT DI and it was awesome. It was tipped 1/2 and played 39.75. I ended selling it and went back to the older TM udi before getting a 790 udi and I’ve been debating getting another atmos in there since I loved that shaft so much

I've done this 3 or 4 times. I have a comment a few pages back out an Atmos HB Blue 8x in a 716 T-MB and a Red 7s in a u65. I just put a Blue 8x in a p790 UDI and I'm liking it so far.

After almost a full season with the Atmos TS Black 6x in my Epic SZ and the Atmos HB TS Black 9x in my Adams Pro Red Hybrid, I can say that this is easily the best shaft I have ever played. I came from a Speeder Motore TS 6.2x in my old driver and a 9.2x in my old hybrid (red & white shaft) and after checking the specs online, I didn't think the Atmos would be any different as it had almost exactly the same torque, bend point, and stiffness profile. What I noticed immediately after switching was my dispersion had improved dramatically. Even when I come up out of my swing early the ball does't go that far right. This season my tee game has been better than ever before and I have been hitting so many more fairways. I know some of it can be owed to the Epic SZ being so forgiving compared to the Ping i20 I came from but I know a lot of it has to do with the shaft too. I can feel the shaft load and feel the head easily coming back to the ball which I couldn't always feel with my previous setup. My playing partners have all commented on how incredible I have been driving the ball all season so its not just me noticing a change. Never once did I feel like I overpowered the shaft and I can get up to 120 mph with the driver, and when I don't swing full bore, I can still load the shaft and bomb it. Had my lowest score of my life this summer (74 - have always had a shaky short game ) with the Atmos TS Black in play in the driver and hybrid and I credit the Atmos TS for its consistency and giving me great confidence standing on any tee. Everybody in league wanted me on their end of season scramble team :D, we ended up winning it at -10 and used my drive on all but a couple holes.

Fujikura, please keep on innovating and making incredible shafts that just plain perform, because I will keep buying them!

This is amazing feedback, we're so pleased to hear you love the ATMOS. And don't worry, we're hard at work with enso and will keep pushing ourselves to bring great new shafts to market!

@Fujikura Golf ....

Anything coming in regards to 9's? I know they exist out there but tough to find for mere mortals.

I've finally hit a wall in sourcing new, uncut, Rombax P95's and I need a shaft for my new Rogue 4 Wood!

I got mine from JD's clubs. Perfectly built at great price. It's been in my fw all season. Love it.

I read through a bunch of pages and couldn't find info, does anyone know how the tour stiff plays compared to S or X. Is it in the middle or stiffer than an X. There is one for sale that says 7TS but cant find specs on Fuji website. in fact they don't even show a 7 TS. They show an 8ts but in the 70 gram range just a s and x. thanks

These shafts are amazing!

Started with the hybrid (Black 9X) and loved it, quickly became my favorite club in the bag. Put one in my 3W (Blue 8X) and have never hit a better fairway wood combo, distance/dispersion/feel is just silly. Pulled the trigger for my driver at last (FOH Patriot 6X) and I love this thing way more than the Tensei PO 60TX I had in it previously.

The only downside is that I don't have even the slightest desire to tinker with the top of my bag anymore! LOL... I am a Fuji fan for life now! Keep it up guys!

Question ....

Are there Blue 9's? Or just Black 9's?

Neither available at this time in their site.

Does anyone have any experience with the Atmos “patriot edition”?

I'm pretty sure it is just a different paint scheme rather than a different shaft profile...
