Hybrids - which one do you recommend?

So I haven't bought any gear in almost two months and, like a magpie, I will be looking for something nice and shiny soon.

 

I've never owned a hybrid and yesterday was the first time I hit one, albeit 10 balls only as torrential rain decided to gate crash my party at the demo day.

 

I hit both the 2017 M1 and M2. I didn't care too much for the setup of the M1 over the ball, and with a heavier shaft, struggled to hit this. The non-adjustable M2 with a lighter shaft came off the face better, even though I am still trying to get to terms with hitting down with a club that looks more like a fairway wood to me.

 

I don't plan to spend too much on this club and am looking for a club that could fit the gap between a 3 wood to a 4 iron, which basically means that loft could vary from 16 degrees to 23 degrees. Once I work out what distance I hit with this club I will probably fill in the gaps.

 

The following clubs are cheap-ish in my area so was hoping that I could get some recommendations based on your experiences. I won't have the ability to try out any of these clubs.

I bought the TM M2 2017 and couldn't stop hooking it. Not snap hooks, but just very very strong curving draws on every shot. Made the club scary to trust so I sold it.

 

Could've just been the wrong club/shaft for me.

Was goofing off in golf galaxy last fall wasting time waiting for management who was at the home decor store when I grabbed an original rbz hybrid just to goof off with. Thing is long and very forgiving. Its now in my bag. 19*. $50 or so.

Picked up a near mint Titleist 915h 3 at PIS for $90 a few weeks ago. Don't necessarily have to go new.

Not sure I've ever hit a hybrid as well as I hit the Callaway BB OS.

 

Previous hybrids are Cobra F6, Cobra Baffler, and Ping Rapture V2.

Here's a dark horse hybrid to check out. Nike VR_S 3 hybrid (21*). I've hung on to these hybrids (Also came in 24 & 27*) since they came out circa 2012-2013. Flat out mid-high launching bombers. You've heard of mini-drivers, these are like mini-woods. Can still be found new last I checked for about $50.

 

Also maybe add to the list the JPX900. A real straight flyer. A little less hook prone.

You should be able to find Ping G30 hybrids out there for a good price.

Thanks for the responses. I went out and had a look at some of these today. I've put some prices (Aussie dollars) next to these clubs just so that I can perhaps get a bang for the buck thoughts follow up from you.

 

At $99, the Adams looks like value. I like the look of the BB OS but that's going at $299!

Bug, if you can find an old Sonartec Md, just give it a try. You should be able to buy it pretty cheap as it's over 10 years old but still my favorite.

Of the ones on that list, I would check out the Cobra F6. I've been extremely happy with mine for the past year.

Callaway XHot2 Pro hybrid. BEAST!!! Compared it to the apex pro, and circles overlapped. A bit more draw bias than the new ones, but a lot less price. Bagging the 18*. Good luck in your search. If you are looking for newer, I would mos def check out the apex series.

Unfortunately there's not a lot of gear outlets here. I'd probably have more chance picking up a Sonartec amongst the antiquities at a garage sale.

The callaway xr 15 is a beast!! You can get it dirt cheap on callaway preowned and it's been great for me

So far 915H for me edged out Cally Alpha 815 and R15. Cleaning out the slot is a little annoying though. Narrower than a tee. Waiting for my F6 to arrive.

I have the Adams new ideas...they're good, I wouldn't say best, but they can definitely be had for half, if not less than half the price you listed. I paid ~$90 for the two of mine combined.

Just picked up a Callaway x2 hot 19*. At least 5 yards longer than the xhot. Nice piercing trajectory.

Titleist 816H1. Have had a bunch but this is the first that didn't want to go left. Nice high soft fades that sit.

Callaway steelhead xr is the best i've hit so far. Tried adams, titleist, and taylormade before it.
