Best driver to hit fades

All,

Trackman does not hit fades. Swings hit fades. Blurting out canned Trackman lingo will not help this guy execute the swing. An open faced driver will setup open for those who sole the club when taking their grip. They then align themselves far enough left so that the ball launches left of the intended target and curves back to it.

OP,

The club is only going to help you so much. You appear to know how a fade is produced, you just aren't executing the proper swing to get it. Post a vid in the instructional section and the swing gurus will get you squared away.

I didn't understand the post and asked why he would want the face open, which somebody else answered constructively. I always attempt to align myself to the target, so opening up open on purpose didn't occur to me. I wouldn't call that "blurting out trackman lingo". The second sentence of your post was very educational. Its a shame it was preceded by the first three.

Get something with an adjustable hosel and a higher standard loft than what you normally use and set it to your lower preferred loft. That will open up the face.

A fade starts left of the target and curves right. This requires an out to in swing path with the club face closed to the target but open to the path. Why would you want to open up the face?

A fade only requires that the face is open to the path. Any given player can then adjust their allignment to get their dispersion more accurate.

Lee Trevino and Fred Couples for example, used to play a push fade with allignment well left

That's a really good point. Never thought of that. Glad I posted up. The face will still be closed to the target, just not the player's aim line?

Yeah. If a player doesn't want to change their swing, in terms of plane and path.....but wants to play a fade, they can simply open the face at address. All else equal (making their stock swing) the ball will start further right and continue to fade right. Known as a "push fade". Then they have to figure out how for left to adjust allignment to allow shots to end up near the target.

This is how to play a fade without changing our swing into some type of "over the top pull" move

Sorry if I came off callus, but the TM terms in the NBFRs lead to confusion for this who don't know their true definitions. I promise to count to 10 next time.

Another way to go about this is "what drivers minimize the left side of the course" or have a "right bias". Sometimes with a driver that is low spinning, getting any kind of actual curvature or fade/draw is difficult. However, hitting a pull or push is in play.

Drivers that are longer from heel to toe, can have a "right bias" because the COG is further out from the shaft line. The Ping i15 is an example of this. It's hosel was set about as far away from the face as they could get it, which created a longer COG. If I recall, the Titleist 909D3 was like this as well.

Also, getting into a driver that is not really low spin, can help in working shots, because there's some spin to work with for curvature. This is why a lot of players have an easier time working a fairway wood...they produce more spin

Or you can just grip the club rather firmly such that your forearms are a little tense. That will 'fade' any shot!

A 9.5* Cleveland Classic 310 Tour Driver with the Stock Stiff Miyazaki Kusala Black 61s Shaft just wanted to hit fades all day for me even though my normal ball flight is actually slight draw...Definitely wasn't the shaft, so it had to be this Retail clubhead's fade bias.
