Things that bug me while watching pro golf.

The endless analysis and hype.

It never stops. Every shot needs analysis and every player needs a story and so on and so on. The golf can never just speak for itself anymore. Endless driving home of whatever narrative the tour wants to push.

European tour coverage is much easier on the ears.

Notice every tour wife that gets the flu is on her death bed or when they give birth ... they barely survived as if they delivered on the Oregon Trail or something.

No more Mr.Hogan ... the guy was a jerk and couldn’t putt

Time to phase out the Jack and Arnie lovefest too, no one really remembers or cares anymore

"He knocked that by more than he would have liked."

I've heard it twenty thousand times. I don't know what this is.. Are golf announcers also color guys/gals? It's not analysis, that's for sure. Speaking about why the player went five feet long on his first putt would be properly analysis. Saying a player knocked it by farther that they would have liked is like....your opinion....dude......so stop revealing the player's thoughts! You ain't in his head!!

So saying that he misjudged the speed or hit it too hard would be much better? Or are you looking for 'His wrist suppination led to a radial deviation which generated a secondary lag which led to an arm driven putt which caused an early release thereby accelerating the putterhead more than that which was desired'. Is that good 'analysis'?

I know golf is hard to televise....lots of players over many acres..... BUT I hate it when they continually show the networks self annointed golden boys when they're way below the cutline or miles out of contention while ignoring the guys who are playing the best golf.... for example, they totally ignored the Oosthuizen-Schwartzel team (3rd & in the mix to the very end) until the very end on Sunday yet showed Kuch & Bubba who weren't even close to contending

Couldn’t agree more. They are constantly covering the “celebrities” of golf, and it would be nice to actually watch or see more of the players that are actually in contention. “here’s blah blah with a save for par!” and he’s not even close o making a come back lol. Let’s just save those plays for the highlight reels.

“This is a makeable bunker shot, Nick”

“Driveable par 4”

“He hasn’t missed one from this length all week, Lanny”....”oh I jinxed him”

“If he gets this within 10 feet it’s a great shot.....wow, 6 inches away”

“Wrong side of the fairway, Peter....He will have to play to the right...wow....he nearly holed it!”

“He’s 295 out so a good shot would be just short of the bunker, Notah.......oh my! he airmailed the green!”

Ian Baker Finch saying "This is a good learning experience for the youngster " every time a young pro loses his lead on Sunday as if it is always due to inexperience.

Yeah, Petah....In South Queensland he could land a wedge on a dime but heah on the PaGA Toua its a diffrent bahlgame.

Justin Rose is 21 under par, the course is just too easy for the big hitters these days. What I like about the US Open is the usual difficulty, most of the years anyway.

"This group is now 'on the clock.......'"

Said by the on-course groupie with the excitement of the moon landing and the gravity of the Kennedy assassination. It is completely, I mean COMPLETELY, useless information for which to be made aware.

I think that's pretty relevant esp if you are following said group or if they are in contention.

Why? It’s not like the players actually care about being in the clock, they know no one is going to be penalized.

Why wouldn't they be penalized?

It last happened in about 1995. The groups rarely catch up. Being put on the clock is the biggest joke in sports, worse than traveling in the NBA.

That is funny. I swear they travel on every play

The 14 year old wasn’t penalized in a pga tour event and it didn’t happen on tv either.

Skirting facts there as it was in the masters which isn’t a pga tour event
